MetsDrummer
Should I get the regular logitech dual action one, or get a PS2 w/adapter? Are there any other options? Thanks

Kamasutra
he said it pretty well. Alot of ppl here use saitek (including me). The Saitek P880 (Link) is widely used... I used to play with a logitech rumble pad (for years...madden, nhl, mvp etc) which is not a bad controller, but I'm sold on the Saitek now for mvp. Avoid the dual action, not recommended. BTW, do a search here, there's plenty of threads, for the ps2 there's also threads to make it work with the pc..
trutildeath
i got the saiek 2500 and it's the absolute best for sports games, but not the best for everything else , but thats just my opinion

DirtyDozen
Hey timzeig, I'm using the Logitech Rumblepad 2 and can't figure out how to map the pitch cursor control to the left analog stick instead of the d-pad. The d-pad only lets me aim in the middle or outside extremes and nowhere inbetween like I should be able to with the left stick. Do you have a config file for using this controller? Does anyone else? If not does anyone know if another config file might be compatible? It's the same layout as a PS2 controller. Thanks in advance. I'm starting to wonder why I got the PC version and not the Xbox version.

McDiddy
I suggest the Saitek P2500 Rumble Pad. It works great in MVP 2005.
Kelvarr
What about the XBox controller? I used it for MVP 2004. Should it work for MVP 2005? My registry and the controller.cfg are set up as "Logitech Dual Action" for it to work with last years game.

UncleMo
2 many suggestions now. what the freak should i get. this is a case of being really helpful. a good problem to have. i think i may try to go to radio shack to get a better converter since my ps2 converter is incompatible (MPXX USB Dual Analoge Converter). Why is it called PSX to USB converter though, and not PS2 to USB converter? Does that matter? I'm using a PS2 controller, not the old controller from Playstation 1. eatcarrotsnow
I wouldn't recommend the Saitek, not because it isn't good, but if you play madden it sucks. The buttons don't correspond to a good game. I bought two of the Logitech Rumblepad 2's for me and my friends and love it for every game we play. If you don't care about button function or remapping, then pick whatever feels best to you.
The H
Playstation 2 Dual-Shock controller + SmartJoy Dual USB Adapter > all It doesn't require any config at all... it vibrates... and heck, it's a freaking PS2 controller!

The feel is awesome and better than the wireless. The rubber grips are great, and the D-Pad is the best D-Pad I've used.

The H
EviLMonkey, Do you have the RadioShack adapter?
UncleMo
no i got this cheap-o brand off of ebay. it is called mpxx usb dual shock something like that. so, this year's game the ps2 controller IS recognized like, my game won't crash if i hit a button BUT none of the buttons work. I'm going to get a radio shack converter this afternoon. if that doesn't work i'll try the usb ones like logitech or saiteck or what the heck. that rhymes. ok, that wasn't that funny.
