Hey,

I'm new to these boards, to MVP, and am also somewhat computer illiterate. Quite the combo. Anyway, I have the PS2 adapter and my buttons were not mapped properly in the game. What exactly do you do with all that code? Cut and paste it where exactly?

mapping appears to be incorrect.

shouldn't

square '[]' be button 1

cross 'X' be button 2

circle 'O' be button 3

triangle '/' be button 4

[this is when i do a side by side of PS2 and logitech]

try it in game, the bottoms for throwing to bases should be as follows:

X: home

O: first

Traiangle: 2nd

square: 3rd

i dont have my game yet so i cant tell ya if its correct but if those buttons throw to those bases then its correct.

try this for your ps2 controller adaptor (radioshack adaptor) as these should point the right buttons for fielding and batting (as close as i could get to the console version since i do not have the console version i dont know if they are totally accurate, but fielding keys are correct) and these should not be flipped like the top one:

Edit: Actually after pitching a game, there seems to be a bug in the controler config for pitching, eventho i have pitch type 1 set for button 4 which is the propper button the game thinks i pushed button circle...they just dont have the keys mapped right if you look at mine above and the original they had the buttons out of wack at the top like they had them in reverse order which is not correct, like they had square which is button 1 on radio shack controller reading as button 4 and so on down the line, they even had the r buttons flipped and the start select buttons. So above is now correct i believe.

EDIT 2: well i think their whole controler config is screwd, the buttons are set right and pitching is STILL messed up, some kind of bug with their config for ps2 adaptors im hitting square which should give me pitch 1 and its giving me a totally different pitch LOL. Might just give up the game cause im not buying a controller just because EA prefers it and screws the rest!

i copied part of the config from last years game for the ps2 adapter and it seems to work perfect for pitching. But you can't copy the whole file because they added some new functions like the relay throw. But the first 10-15 controller functions should be indentical, which include the button mapping for pitching. Just do a line by line comparison of the two files until you get to the difference. I'm still working on fixing things beyond the similarities, however.

I am having trouble finding where to copy and paste the information above. I cannot find my controller settings for MVP. Could someone please lead me in the right direction. Thanks.

I just bought the game and just installed it. I have the same problem with my PS2 controller. I assume that you copy and paste the listed definitions oPoCoLo posted into a file, but what should the file extension be?
