brumschlag Posted February 24, 2005 Share Posted February 24, 2005 First of all, MVP Baseball is near-perfect. Pitching, Batting, Fielding, Sliding the fundementals are all executed very well.. Just a few minor picks.. 1. Wind Alright, I've noticed that the wind does blow. It blows either Left-to-Right Field or Right-to-Left field. Never IN or OUT. Plus, does anyone care if the wind is blowing in from the West? or do you care if it's blowing out left-center? It seems like the direction is completely random no matter which one you choose. I want to see if the Cubbies can play small-ball in Wrigley with the wind gusting in at 30 mph! 2. Faux Double Plays This happened twice. Two outs, man on first, ground ball to the SS. SS throws to 2nd who throws to 1st -- Announcer calls double play. Doesn't get counted as a DP in the box score. Why'd the 2nd baseman throw to 1st? Need practice? 3. The distracting words on the new pitch meter I play old-school. No strike-zone. No Hot/Cold zones. Variable SZ. Bad Calls (woohoo!) No BS Hitter's Eye. Everything looks beautiful until those damn 'Early!' or 'Late!' or 'Perfect!' appear over the pitch meter after every pitch. It's really distracting when a nasty breaking ball appears to come through the 't' in perfect. And no option to turn it off (that I've found so far) 4. Switch Hitters Only happened once so far but I had the CPU switch hit on me in the middle of an AB. Russell Branyan, which I don't think he's a switch hitter.. It happened after they showed the guy on-deck 'This guy may be the tieing run' then boom! Branyan was batting right-handed. And I haven't seen the ability to switch my switch hitters in the middle of the AB yet. That's it. After some heavy modding, new rosters and tweak the sliders I could play this game until 2007 or 2011 or 3015 whenever the mlbpa -- Take Two thing goes bust. You think they would have added flags blowing in the wind. 2. yikes....I think this could be bug. could be no biggie, since its not added in the box score. 3. Not a bug just plain annoying!
