sask3m
I'd like to be able to use the batters eye w/o the strikezone but that is impossible in that they are tied together. Is there a way the strikezone overlay could be removed so when turned on you don't see it but then still be able to use the batters eye? In case i'm mixed up on the wording by "batters eye" I mean the option to see the text telling what pitch is coming next.
LouisvilleLipp
I thought it was colored circles that let you know? Green = fast ball, Red = curve, etc.....
sask3m
I thought it was colored circles that let you know? Green = fast ball, Red = curve, etc..... Ok how do I see these colored circles? As far as the batters eye, what i'm referring to is when are hitting and have the strikezone turned on you will sometimes see text at the top of the strikezone saying curveball or two seam fastball etc. letting you know what pitch is coming. It only appears for a very brief time and just as the pitcher is delivering so it's not like you have a whole lot of time to react but I like the idea as I think it replicates a good hitter reading a pitch. I like to see the text info but don't like having the strikezone on that is why i'd like to find if there is a way to remove the K zone from the game but still have it turned on in the options. In the options you can set batters eye from 0-100 and the better your hitter the more often they see the info. On a side note do you know if it's possible to review what type of pitches were thrown to your last hitter or even what the previous pitch was to the hitter you currently have at the plate? I know if you hit left or right on the D pad it gives you location but I don't see anything about pitch type.
furball
sask3m, I've played with batter's eye A LOT! What LouisvilleLipp is referring to is that, about 1/2 of the time that you see the text describing the pitch thrown, you ALSO see a circle in the strike zone colored by that pitcher's colors as they show up when you hit the button that shows you what type of pitches he throws (2 clicks on the right D pad button in standard setup.) Now, if you are NEVER seeing that colored ball show up in the strike zone with batter's eye turned on I WANT TO KNOW HOW YOU DID IT! I *HATE* that ball because it hides the actual pitch, which is why I've played with batter's eye so much. But I haven't found a way to have the text description wihout that darned colored ball showing up about half the time. Sadly, I've also not seen a way to have the strike zone not show up when batter's eye is turned on. As for the TYPES of prior pitches thrown, yeah, I see no reason they couldn't have done like MVP and used the pitch type color in the prior pitch displays you get with the left D pad button. It seems such a simple and obvious thing to do. They're already storing all prior pitch locations per batter and so on; it would just be one more stored data element for pitch type. sask3m
I'm not sure why I don't see any colored balls, although I haven't played a ton of games yet. What do you have the batters eye option under human batter in difficulty sliders set to? I usually play at 35. Now there is also a batters eye On Off setting in the controllers section. The one that shows you the black circle which you place where you think the pitcher will throw the ball (at least I think that is how it works), anyways I always play with that Off. Could that be why?? When exactly do the colored balls show up, while the pitcher is delivering the ball? Anyways I wish I could erase the strikezone so I could play with batters eye "text" thing show up w/o having to use the K zone.
furball
sask3m! You cannot get rid of the strike zone! But the rest is COUNTER-intuitive! Try setting the CONTROLLER batter's eye to 100 and the Player's (hitter) controller EYE to 0. . . and vice versa! You will find that one setting gives you the TEXT ONLY and the other makes the lousy colored balls show up! But both are adjusted by the individual batter's eye. That is, give an individual batter in his EDIT SCREEN an eye of 100. Then go back and try game with CONTROLLER BATTER EYE at 100, and PLAYER (hitter) EYE at 0. Then try the same hitter at CONTROLLER BATTER EYE at 0 and PLAYER (hitter) EYE at 100. You will see the text message and the colored ball show up MUCH differently! And I *think* they are both modified by the individual batter's eye.
sask3m
I'll give it a try. As far as removing the K zone I was thinking maybe there was a away to edit it out much like the modders here have d/l's that get rid of the arrows when pitching etc.
