Creating New Pa Announcements Of Names

Recommended Posts

I really don't have a great grasp on audio files, though have read a thread or two around here. What I'm wondering is can I create a complete PA announced name with my home recording device (interestingly the Rock Band microphone works very well through your PC), instead of some of these choppy names that we hear for some players.

I'm sure I'd have to try to emulate the existing PA voice as best as possible and add some echo/stadium type filter, but I don't think it would be that hard.

I would assume I would need to start out with a .wav file and then do some converting. Any thoughts anyone?

yep. if you're okay with the quality not quite matching the voice of the pa announcer. just look at my audio tutorial in the downloads. just start with the wave file and use the batch file to convert it to a dat file for audios.

Obviously you have not had the pleasure of being enthralled by my Barry White-type melodic orations :)

Will check it out.... but the term "batch file" sends shivers down my spine. For some reason I have a LD there!

it's not bad as it sounds. if you can edit a text file you can work with batch files. now figuring out the codes for the batch files, that's a different story. luckily for you the files are already set up for the most part.

if you got a good voice, you should voice over all the audios ;)
