Cooperstown effect at the Polo Grounds

Played an exhibition game there last night, and that is really cool. I love the Cooperstown effect in the game.

Also, playing there was pretty frustrating watching those bombs to centerfield die.

In MVP 2005, it's a lot harder to hit long home runs. When I played at the Polo Grounds in 2004, I would consistently hit the ball over the center field wall, even though it's 480 feet away. This year, every long ball to center in the Polo Grounds falls short, just like in real life. (Hint - hit it down the lines at the Polo Grounds - it's every batter's dream.)

This year, most of my home runs are actually realistic distances, like 365 feet to 430 feet. I hardly ever hit the ball over 430, although I have had a couple of 470 foot shots.

The Cooperstown effect is even cooler when you play in the retro teams' uniforms. I played a Yankees-Red Sox game with both teams' uniforms from the early 1900's. It really felt like the year 1905!

Agreed. I'm hitting some homers but they don't go anywhere near as far as they did in MVP 2004. Most of the time, they just barely make it out of the park. It's alot more realistic than repeatedly hitting 500 foot shots like in last year's version.

Ya I ripped a couple down the left field line, but with A-Rod I popped three to center field and watched them get caught.

Also Manny hit a monster that when he hit it I was thinking "****", but it was only a triple because of that huge space.

Longest HR I've hit so far has been 560 feet....

but that was in the hitting Mini-game.....

But yeah, Polo is SO hard to hit a Homer out of straight to center.

as it should be.....hitting is a lot harder this year....and i like it....now im not gona get .60-0 BA anymore....its more realistic....i like it.
