sask3m
Are you saying that somehow you are able to open inside edge for all teams? Don't sure i'm quite following you. What is INF and OFF?
MercyLord
well when you start the season you will have to control all the teams , i do that now anyways so the Line-ups/stats don't get screwed up . What you need to do is make sure you ad 17 mil too one player i used the back-up catcher so i remember who im doing it to ... when the season start revert back the 17 mil so you can use it for inside edge , that is the amount it will cost each team to check off all the Team boxes . Give it a try i have noticed a big change in game play in my opinion . outfield infield adjustments i noticed the most the shifts seem to go by Inside edge . I suck at explaining myself LOL but anyways i played more games then i can count and i think im on to something here , just need some more opinions on this . Seems the AI has improved but like i said maybe its just me ....
sask3m
Thanks , i'll attempt this myself!
MercyLord
If you notice when you have some injury's it wipes out all the recent games AB per game in your stat log so i can keep a eye out when i control all teams . When problem occurs i have to load my back up franchise files and start over the game or sim it , i know it sucks but you need them stats ! very important in my opinion you need them to keep your inside edge up to date and for the next season . seems not to be a problem every time a injury occurs but when you have a double one pop up on the major league level that requires DL stint this happens most of the time . i think if you do auto i think i wont happen as much but i get sick of restructuring the teams Line-up / Rotation and Call ups EXT! all the time
furball
"very important in my opinion you need them to keep your inside edge up to date and for the next season ." You seem to imply that Inside Edge data is updated each year. I've found that the Inside Edge for each player looks exactly the same in 2013 and 2014 as it did in 2012, and that players I draft never get any Inside Edge data. I play the Giants and have them buy the IE data for all teams, but I don't have the other teams buy the data at all. Are you really getting NEW Inside Edge data for years after 2012? (And we're talking Franchise Mode, right?)

But I don't bother with IE. It's essentially useless because it's not dynamic. It should change day-to-day and season-to-season for each player, but doesn't. Another half-developed, poorly implemented feature by 2K. Edited March 16, 2013 by bangus
MercyLord
I never went into year 2 yet so i'm glad you are telling me this , i notice the AI will make adjustments in shifts more with inside edge on so since i seen that i figure hey that is one reason why to do it . I do control all the teams and play only 2 myself in franchise mode but like i said i make all the roster adjustments trades EXT! and let the Computer play the other 28 teams when the game starts . Another thing i noticed make sure your recent games on your player stats don't get wiped . You have to add 17 mil to every team before the Franchise season (ROSTER) and you must control all the teams when you start a franchise then when you start revert the 17 mil on the one player so you can use it for inside edge for every team ,have you tried this ? alot of stats gets wiped sometimes so unless you can have a full franchise season with no stat errors you wont be able to to tell if it will work controlling all the teams and adding inside edge to all of them . MercyLord
looks like the stats are still there after testing 3 franchise seasons , just have to make sure they have not repeated itself from the first year . that is the one thing i forgot to do when checking . the drafted players do not have Inside edge ! but i dont see to many drafted players starting for any teams in year 3 . furball
looks like the stats are still there after testing 3 franchise seasons , just have to make sure they have not repeated itself from the first year . that is the one thing i forgot to do when checking . the drafted players do not have Inside edge ! but i dont see to many drafted players starting for any teams in year 3 . That's my point, Mercy. I would hope that teams would shift defenses and pitching according to Inside Edge data, and I would hope non-player teams wouldn't have to "buy" the data. Allhough if the purchase is some sort of choice based on AI and a Manager rating of some sort, that's ok, too.) But I have played two different Franchise files for 3 years each and have NEVER seen a single piece of Inside Edge data change from the Roster.ROS data as originally delivered. (Nor have a seen a drafted player ever GET IE data, even though I've taken a couple right from year 2012 through 2014 on the major league roster.) I don't believe the game updates Inside Edge data no matter how careful you are to prevent stats from getting wiped out after a game. . . something I've never had a problem with, btw. By the way, if the game WAS updating IE data, it should do that whether or not a team PURCHASED IE data or not. But I agree with your point about teams USING the data: If the teams DO adjust to IE data in the game, but DON'T ever purchase it on their own, buying it for them with the $17 million trick makes sense. But so does just buying the data for their critical oponents if they're low on cash.
MercyLord
ya man agree with everyone thing your saying pretty much furball . i think your saying teams do shift by inside edge data and they do i can verify that and i do notice the game by game has some updates for inside edge , i do like the change of pace of the game using inside edge . i dont think i can play without it now dude even tho it has flaws . I figure 75% of the players don't change there hitting style anyways . Most players that are pull hitters stay that way there whole careers . The flavor of a Inside edge game is night and day in my opinion to a none inside edge game even with the flaws . I would still call it a must if you understand the Flaws and the things you have to do to work around some of the problems . LOL i guess most people wont so i would say there missing out ,,, just giving my honest opinion on this subject ... i just think if you play as many games as i have without it you would noticed a huge change in pace ... i guess i wont find out for sure until i tested it this summer in full /
bangus
MercyLord, just want to say I appreciate you sharing this. I'm not an IE person myself, but it sounds like a really great find you discovered. Good work.
