hal_2604
Hey all, I remember reading a post SOMEWHERE (a year ago or more, can't seem to find it again) where a member here managed to remove the 4-seam fastball from a pitcher. I'm interested in figuring out how to do this for pitchers like mariano rivera or henderson alvarez who don't throw 4-seamers ever, really. Among others like Tyler Skaggs / David Robertson who throw really a natural cutter. So I want to take their 4-seams out altogether. I've tried using the .dat exporter to lower all the 4fb stats to 0 but that doesn't make it disappear. Would love some guidance. Unless my memory is failing me, it's not impossible. Could one of the experienced players/modders let me know? Thanks.
Gordo
I think I accomplished this a while ago by minimizing the attributes so low that it literally didn't show on the pitch selection. However, when I tried to do a pitch out, the game crashed. Seems that it relies on that pitch.
metalboy15
Finding a solution to this would make me install MVP05 again, this was one of my big gripes from back in the day (haven't posted in what? ~6 years?, but shhh don't tell anyone). Guys like Roy Halladay, Mariano Rivera, Hiroki Kuroda, etc, all have natural movement on their fastballs, so it's impossible for them to throw a ball straight. If someone knows the answer to this, I would be all over it, maybe release a Roster set of my own (I had one before the whole MVPMODS.com makeover, that did considerable well)... Gordo
You can set motion on the FBs....they don't have to be straight.
metalboy15
Yeah but IIRC that made the fastball look INSANELY weird, very unnatural. Maybe that's changed since then? I don't know. MVPEdit refuses to run on Windows 8 :(
