Use this line for every single <battingview6> in the datafile:

BTW, I updated the post to have the important values for this year in bold. They are, as follows:

15 x-axis setting

16 y-axis setting

17 z-axis setting

41 pitch

42 heading

53 field-of-view

54 distance relative field-of-view

As you can see, I need to lower the camera a bit to get it to how I had it last year, thanks to info from someone's datafile:

No problem. :)

I figured this would be a good post to reference, in addition to Toymenater's camera adjustment tutorial for creating some good BTP cams for this year...

I wanted this since release day, and finally had the time to sit down and figure it out.

Nice. Remember people, for 05, the camera names & line numbers have changed, so someone might want to update Toy's tutorial to reflect this. I'll see what I can do once I get the pc version & have the time..

Ok I put the battingview6 info into the datafile.txt and all, but when I put the new datafile.big on my xbox hard drive and try playing the game, the battingview6 is all black with the overlays on top. What's wrong?

I'll try to update my doc. I see that Pared has identified some of the offsets have changed. I was thrown off a bit wondering what the hell I was editing.

I've been tinkering a bit on my xbox but haven't spent much time as I just got the game. I'll try to post something in the next couple of days.

Not sure what's happening in particular, but I was able to get it working by doing the following:

[*]Downloading Trues's datafile posted on this site.

[*]Uncompress using EAZip.

[*]Change the 4 batterview lines using wordpad and saving the file

[*]Compress it with EAZip.

[*]Copy it back to the xbox in my MVP2005data folder.

Like last year, recompressing back into datafile.big is not needed.

Thanks, I was using the extract commands. Everything works great now, although the camera looks like the first picture Pared has. Once I get it to look like the lower image I'll be straight. I appreciate everyone's help.

OK, this view is awesome, and I really want it, but I have no idea what you guys are talking about when it comes to putting this in the game...

Is there anyways someone can

a) Make this downloadable?(like Trues .dat mod with Batting4)?

B) Give an easy step-by-step tutorial on how I can get this in my game

Basically you download True's datafile. Then you get EAZip (use google) and uncompress the file. Then you find the 4 batterview6 views and replace them with the code above. Then you recompress it and put the txt into the data folder.

Anaxamand0r, I get this ball for the first inning only. It's a really odd, glowing white ball. After the first inning it goes back to the normal ball. Does it switch back to normal eventually for you?

I didn't think to check past the first inning. I went into replay and zoomed in and it looked normal, then I downloaded Spitoon's MLB Ball and it alleviates the problem.

Ditto, I get the glowing ball through the first inning as well even with Spitoons ball mod. Love the angle though! Thanks Pared.

Its actually even harder to through strikes with this view. Two birds.. one stone. :D

Chris, what is EAZip supposed to do...I downloaded it, and when I clicked the .exe link, nothing happened....Is it a program?

If I just wait, do you think there will just be a mod, that I won't need to use EAZip, and will just be able to download and use? I don't get this stuff

There will probably be an easier mod to setup at some point, but for now:

First, place Eazip.exe in the same folder you downloaded the datafile.txt to. Then in a DOS window (find a DOS tutorial if you don't know how to naviagate with DOS) go to the directory that contains eazip and the datafile.txt. Finally run the commands below to uncompress. After you edit, recompress and put in data folder (datafile folder for PC)

To uncompress from a DOS window, type:

eazip.exe -u datafile.txt

To recompress

eazip.exe -c datafile.txt

If you're not comfortable using a commandline program like EAZip, then by all means wait a week or two until someone compile a more comprehensive set of datafile mods.

Cool...That's what I wanted to hear thx
