donjn
By the way tkrahling, the reaosn I posted the same staements on several boards is to get the word out and hope EA will see it and patch it. The more they see it, the more it might sink in. Your recommendation for Omega drivers is an interesting one. Omega drivers specialize in higher image quality, slowing down performance a bit. As we now know, slowing down performance helps matters in this case.
ming
Yo, if any of you guys have tried any of the "competition" on x-box, you know that even the "bugs" in mvp(pc) are sweetas pie! This game is freaking addictive!!! Just give it some time and the developers and the modders will make this game perfect! Pc = patches and mods console = ....well...NOT SH??!!!
spitoon
From what I can tell, the game does run smoother on low end machines...I compare mine (Celeron 1.4GHz, GeForce Ti4200) with my buddy's (Celeron 2.6Ghz, ATI 9700Pro) and mine is wayyyy smoother... It seems to me that the faster computers render the game faster than EA intended, causing making the computer have to 'wait' for the game to catch up, thus causing the choppiness... One of the solutions was to increase your video card options to a point where the game couldn't run as fast...crank up the AA and AF...the problem still remains on very high end machines because you can't crank up the settings enough to slow it down sufficiently.. I had minor issues with '04 that were completely fixed by turning UP my AA...on '05 the problem seems to be a bit worse? still quite minor on my machine... donjn
Exactly spitoon. My system is so good that maxing the setting aren't doing anything. Plus, I'll be dammed if Im going to underclock my video card!
ortonius
I have one of the highest spec computers on here, and I'm getting choppiness when the ball is thrown across the infield, but nowhere else. It doesn't make the game unplayable, but I'll admit that it is definitely annoying.
tkrahling
I was thinking of something, if I remember correctly last yr before the patch was released, the mods started to make Hi-Res mods and the stuttering started to get less and less the more mods you added, just makes sense since you are taxing the graphics card more. ming
My compliments on the rig ordonius...if that dont cut out the choppiness, then it is not system specs that are to blame. 8)

You know, I firmly believe it was never the system specs, it simply makes no sense, that a HIGH-END machine cant handle BASEBALL, while you can literally fly through the vast world of EVER QUEST 2, a much, much more complex game in every aspect. No, it is a programming issue over @ EA, I am sure it will be taken care of soon!

snowles
For comparison's sake, I just installed a 256mB NVidia video card to replace my old Nvidia 64mB card. While the graphics look much smoother, I've gone from a game that plays as smooth as silk to one that is quite choppy. Put me in the camp that blames the game; it's the only game that's regressed for me after upgrading my card.
donjn
So you update your video card, and the game gets worse. I am really shocked! lol
Pellaeon11
I read on the EA forums that someone fixed the chopiness by removing their USB gamepad and playing with the keyboard. I will not try this, because I find it silly to fix the game that way. But maybe some of you would want to try it.
PeterOS
This is really killing me. I want to enjoy the game, but the chopiness is killing it for me. EA release a patch to fix this please!! :x
Doby12
The main point here is that EA should have fixed this without requiring a patch. They knew this last year with MVP 2004 and fixed it with a patch. Now we have to wait for them to release a patch, and this pisses me off! xxkylekashxx
the only time my game is choppy is usually the first time someone puts the ball in play. once my computer loads that it runs smooth for the rest of the game. The problem isn't with the game... it is your computer not being able to render and process the graphics. It runs smoothly for me with 1 gb of ram and a geforce fx5500 128 mb card. rmats100
I get a little choppiness on throws from 3rd to 1st or if the ss ranges deep in the hole in over head view. Didn't think anything of it till I checked out the forums and saw all the posts. So its probably not as bad as what most people are experiencing. My video card is fast, cpu slower. Anyway just adding some input, good luck guys. Athlon xp3000+ nforce2 ultra 2x512 Corsair TwinX3200 c2pt sata hd BFG Geforce6 800gt
Rangers67
I have an FX-53 cpu, 6800GT, 1 gig Corsair XMS ram, Raptor 10,000 rpm hd, windows xp pro, and I get some pretty bad chop. Anyone who says the problem is a system problem rather than poor coding is just plain wrong. I'm hoping for a patch soon, but it is ridiculous the game shipped in its current state. EA knew many of us would have problems; they just don't care. Chalk up another reason why I can't stand EA.
xxkylekashxx
if it was a coding issue wouldnt everyone experience the same chopiness? how can one game play smooth while another doesnt. It has to be something with the hardware you are using on your comp.
