Jeter is a pretty close stance for Braun.

Either that or either Green, A. Jones, or K. Matsui.

By the way, anyone got a good stance for Paul Konerko?

braun-green (its almost perfect)

longoria- upright (its very similar)

I have a couple of questions myself

Would you change these?

Connor Jackson- Boone

Uggla- thomas

Matt Kemp- ordonez

Youkilis- Franco?

howard- thome

Whoa, Youkilis isn't Franco. I don't think you can legitimately use Franco as a stance for anyone except Franco himself. Maybe for Kevin Millar, but that's it. It's way too upright and exaggerated to be used on anyone else. I've seen it suggested for Victor Martinez, Jorge Posada, and now Youkilis. I just don't get it!

My suggestions:

Youkilis=Renteria

Uggla=Closed

Conor Jackson=Ordonez or Boone

Finally, why hasn't anyone brought up Pujols for Braun? Come on guys, it's almost perfect!

I am currently doing a complete batting stances and windup overhaul on my forum (yes, shameless plug). Each of these stances and windups have been exhaustively researched. I have looked at everything from how the player positions his arms to how far behind his head the bat is to how far crouched the player is. As for windups, I have tried to pinpoint how low the pitcher dips the ball behind his back, where the leg he kicks ends up, how far towards the plate he is when he starts releasing the ball, etc. Please offer praise or critiques!

Mark Sweeney: Thomas

James Loney: Burnitz

Some of these are just waaaay off.

Youkilis has to be Franco....not bc its perfect, bc its the closest thing.

Many of these posted are the same 5-6 stances/windups. Don't you guys want some variety?

I use Franco for Youk, Carlos Guillen, and Victor Martinez. In reality, they're not so pronounced, but they're similar. its better than 1/3 of the batters having Klesko's stance, 1/3 having Renteria's, and 1/3 having Walker's.

Pitchers, I don't pay as much attention to their windups. I know DiceK is like Seaver......I focus on pitch types. There's a great site that has every pitcher's % of types of pitches thrown, and avg speed of each pitch type. Its fangraphs baseball. Many changeups and curves are faster than the game defaults in reality.

Uh, how?

The only ones I've ever seen for him are Open and Klesko, both of which are horrible choices. His legs are way too close together in his stance for Open to work, plus Open is too upright. Klesko is even worse. Lee has a pronounced bend in his knees and a distinct bat waggle in his stance, neither of which the Klesko stance has. Burnitz is by no means perfect, but I extensively looked at all the stances and Burnitz was definitely the best choice. Generic 2 is the only other one I would even consider.
