mrg1
Apr4488- exactly. I was playing this game with my 15-year-old brother and he quickly learned what PATIENCE is. He would throw strikes, and I wouldn't swing. I would wait until I got the right pitch. When he adopted my strategy, he finally started scoring runs. If a pitch is out of the strike zone: dont swing If a pitch is in the strike zone, but a great pitch: dont swing If its in the strike zone, and its what youre looking for: swing Pretty simple really, but most people think the best strategy is: If its within a foot of the strike zone: swing

But now I prefer to not swing at anything that's not close to the center of the strikezone...
DarkEnigma510
I hate when people get in a huff when you throw balls instead of strikes. It's called pitching!! I had one guy give me smack because I was pitching around John Dowd/Barry Bonds. Guy complains but it happens in real life. As long as you are realistic about how you are pitching, its not cheating. Or, if you really want to play a game of just strikes then clarify you want a strikes-only game. That's a fair way of stating the rules by which you want to play. Personally, I would never play baseball that way (I even hate the five innings thing), but at least thats the way you are supposed to go about doing it. Filthy57
I usually tend to swing at pretty much everything, but if someone repeatedly started throwing balls, I wouldn't be stupid enough to keep swinging at everything. If I knew that someone was just going to throw balls, I would lay off and let them throw balls.
homersheineken
This shouldn't even be an issue. If you're gonna thow 10 balls in a row that ain't bush league, that's me having 2 runners on (one in scoring position) with a hitters count. If you throw just strikes all the time, why play the game??? Why not just play homerun derby? There is absolutley NO CHEESE in throwing balls all the time. It's called competitive advantage. It's just like the real game. I'll take the free bases, just like what would happen in real life. If the other guy won't, he's just not as good of a player an just looking for a whiney excuse why he can't win.
