dlane09 Posted August 4, 2014 Share Posted August 4, 2014 I've been digging through the .big files, mainly ROOKIE.big, searching for the matrix that computes a player's overall rating based on his variables. No luck... any ideas? I wanted to tweak how different positions are computed - for example LF only takes into consideration batting and no fielding or speed. Gordo Posted August 4, 2014 Share Posted August 4, 2014 I'm not sure you're ever going to find this, besides ratings can be over-valued. The other problem with programming in the game is the PC makes dumb callup/send-down moves. For example, they'll move pitchers up just because they have high stamina numbers and don't seem to pay attention to the quality of the pitches. When starting a dynasty the CPU auto sorts the rosters based on overall rating. You wind up with a bullpen full of minor-league SP's while your star relief corps is playing AAA or below - the formula favors stamina way too much, among other things. You could artificially deflate the player's ratings to keep him in the proper league, but then performance would suffer. Or we could find a way to adjust how a player's overall rating is calculated.
