mcalte19
Hey guys and gals, I never bought MVP for the PC and now it costs upwards of $150 on Amazon. However, I never let go of my copy of it for XBOX. I was curious if there were a way to convert the PC rosters to XBOX. If not, has anyone ever created an updated XBOX roster? I don't care if there are player portraits or anything. I'd just like an updated roster. Thanks.
Yankee4Life
Have you tried searching the download area?

But the PC roster is convertible, though there are some limitations. If your XBOX is modded this is going to be about the only way you're going to do it. You can easily Google how to ftp rosters to a modded Original Xbox.
mcalte19
Thank you, daflyboys. I have a modded XBOX, and I copied the disc to my harddrive. I'm completely new to modding this game, so my next question would be if you know a link on here to explain how to convert the files. I opened the MVP folder that was created and inside the database folder (where I would put it if this were on PC) is 1 file named database.big. How do I convert all of those 19 .dat files into the proper file types to make the XBOX read them correctly?
Gordo
I don't recall them needing conversion, but that 18 when in the database subfolder and one of the 19 files went somewhere else. Maybe if you download a roster from this site, someone has a readme file attached to it.
jollydodger
I keep an updated roster for Xbox, just on my own. I updated the hitting ratings for this past year, and am updating the free agent signings and trades as they happen this winter. I don't know how to do anything fancy or mod or action replay or any of that stuff. If anyone wants them, you can send me a memory card and I'll return it with the rosters. Free, old school. royhobbs
The hist.dat file stays ONLY in the database folder. All other 18 .dat files go into the database.big

jollydodger
Yeah, it's just a simple manually edited roster that I could save on a memory card if you care to send it. No money or likes or whatever, just sharing it with whoever cares enough to want it. You can send me an IM (I assume) on here for my mailing address. I finished the 2014 rosters/ratings and am now switching around free agents as they sign, trades, and other hot stove activity. I'm also getting the 2014 AAA rosters to include on this roster. My goal isn't full AAA/AA/A rosters or anything, as I've filled those slots up by retired players, but to have a 40+ man realistic roster between the major league clubs and their AAA squads. The MLB rosters will be the 25 guys most likely to play the most in 2015, with the AAA teams being an overflow basically. I edit R/L split ratings based on batting avg for 'contact' and SLG% for 'power'. Imperfect, but it works. For pitchers, I try to edit their quality level based on ERA, and use fangraphs for their pitching repertoires. If they throw a certain pitch over 5% of the time, I include it. Hey...that's pretty much what I did. Nice work.
jollydodger
Any chance someone knows or has a source for who throws 2-seam fastballs?
