Problem with Baserunners

Hey all, I am using Saitek P880 gamepad and I have found that every time I have a baserunner or baserunners I cannot control them from taking off trying to steal. I have not seen this come up in discussion on the board so it has to be a gamepad problem.

Any suggestion as to how to correct this? Thanks...Russ

PS....I still hope someone can come up with a fix for the faces in the game.

I've noticed the exact same thing. What happens though, is that you can control them the first time you want to lead them off. But if they try and pick him off, or they throw a pitch, you can't control them anymore. I can steal make them steal, I just can't make them leadoff anymore.

I have the Saitek P880 but I have no problem controlling the runners after they start to run.

I'm unable to lead off all runners. I'm only able to lead off the lead runner. For example, if I have guys on first and second and hit up on the right stick to lead off all only the guy on second leads off. I too am using the P880.

Any ideas? I looked in the config file but didn't see anything that jumped out at me to adjust

i use the p880 controller and with the right analog stick pressing up leads off all runners, and pressing left leads of only the selected runner. did you copy the whole controller config file? maybe the right analog stick isn't mapped out correctly.

Wanted to bump this as I have noticed the same problem. I already edited the controller.cfg file to fix the messed up sliding directions - but perhaps there is something in there that will fix this problem. I guess I'll check that out tomorrow.

The odd thing is that it works at first and then stops working. I'm starting to wonder if maybe it's just a bug. Has anyone had problems leading off with different controllers or the keyboard?

Just had another thought... there's that new "Pickoff Returns" setting that defaults to "Automatic". What if after that initial throw to first, the computer is taking over and not listening to our leadoff commands anymore?!?! If so, that definitely seems like a broken feature - thanks for automatically bringing me back to the base, but I'd like to leadoff again now. We should try setting that to manual to see if we have the same problem.

I am using the keyboard 1 controls. When I try to take a lead from 1st base, i press number 1 (as this is my selected button for controling the runner on 1st base). I have the up (arrow button) as running to 2nd base.

I can't in any way make the runner on 1st take a lead. Everytime I press the up arrow button, the runner runs to 2nd, but with no buttons that I press does mame him take a lead from a base.

Can anyone help me???? how do I make a runner take a lead once he s on base using keyboard options???

How would I have to configure my keyboard and wat would i have to do press to make him take a lead once he s on base???

** When I pitch, and want to do a pick off attempt, I usually press on my numpad button 0 (insert) and then the button # 1 ..... don't know if that helps?

any help would be appreciated
