Question for Portrait Sets

I have downloaded both portrait sets and I must admit I love them but there is one problem I keep running into. The created/ fake players never hold over to the game itself, I can change the portrait number and it comes up in MVP Edit, I can even save it and re-open MVP edit and it is still there, so it obviously saved correctly. When I start the game up and go to look at the rosters of both the Reds and the Nationals, it still reverts back to the fake players with the generic portrait, am I doing something wrong in this regard? I cant forsee what I am doing wrong but maybe someone can point out something that I am missing, thanks in advance.
