Hayzman10
So I downloaded a bunch of the mods and have been using them and than recently added a bunch more and now the game won't launch so obviously I was careless with what I was doing and didn't follow instructions. I'm not sure which mod is the one causing the game to crash, is there anywhere I can download the default files of the game so I can overwrite the files I have now and start over? Thanks for any help!
Yankee4Life
Don't you have the CD anymore? You could get it there.
Jim825
I'm guessing he bought it online and downloaded it through a service like Steam. In that case he wouldn't have discs.

You know I never bought a game through Steam so I don't really know how that works.
raidersbball20
What files did you download and add that caused the crash?
zzcoolj21
Right click on the game on steam and press "Delete Local Content...". Then just reinstall.
Kccitystar
Right click on the game on steam and press "Delete Local Content...". Then just reinstall. Right Click on MLB2K12, Properties, click the Local Files tab, select "Verify Integrity of Game Cache", and the game will re-download any file that isn't 1:1 with what the game is included with. Hayzman10
What files did you download and add that caused the crash? That's the problem, I mindlessly added so many I can't remember, it was a really stupid mistake.
Hayzman10
Right click on the game on steam and press "Delete Local Content...". Then just reinstall.Any time I had this problem in the past with this game or the NBA 2k re-installing worked but for some reason when I downloaded it again this time the mods were still in the folder, which was confounding. I'm trying again.

Question, if none of this works is there anywhere I can download just the generic vanilla files of the game? I purchased the game through Steam and if anybody is weary that I pirated the game I can provide the proper verification that I do legally own the game. Any additional help would be greatly appreciated and I will update any progress I make so all of you can stop worrying about some idiot on the internet who can't even properly install mods, Yes, I'm frustrated with my own ignorance. Kccitystar
the game not being able to launch is usually a bad global.iff file.Download one of the equipment mods and load up the game. See if it will run or crash back to the desktop. Edited April 17, 2015 by Kccitystar
