Wallpaper Thread 2015

Here we go.

I want to make this an annual tradition. Most of my wallpapers are in 1080p or higher:

 

I'd like to see what you're all sporting as lock screens and wallpapers

Got sick of all of the desktop icons, so grouped them and made large 256 x 256 icons for these desktop folder categories. Much cleaner. (2 different themes)

how do you keep the icons where they are?  i like laying them out like this, but for whatever reasons the icons eventually get moved

Right click on the desktop and pick "view".  Uncheck both "align icons to grid" and "auto arrange icons".  Also, check "large icons".  (Icons were made from png's and IcoFX).

yeah that's what I had figured.  i do that already but every once in awhile the icons reset.   windows used to have a function to lock the icons in place but that is no longer the case.

Like game manufacturers, they seem to think taking things out that are worthwhile is better.

First photo was one I took returning to the States from Australia. (Brisbane)

Second and third are shots from Skyrim at 2560x1440 resolution.

I liked gordo's idea, so i redid this for my htpc.  definitely dig the new look icons.

That looks sweet.... it's a pain to manually space them out, but that works.  My only 2c is because you have the busy color bg, why not make all the icons b&w?

I also did this vintage Avengers one a bit back.  It's basically the first cover splash pose for the big 4.  But I took liberties with the coloring .  Left room top and bottom for icons.

yeah i thought about that.  i'm still tinkering with it.  I have several backgrounds it cycles through.  but so far i didn't like how it those logos looked black and white so i kept them in color.

I've got a pretty nice looking linux desktop here that I'm happy with

and i went ahead and made all the icons black and white.  looks much better after a few adjustments.  looks really good with the color wallpapers.  i just wish windows response for one clicks to open the links worked better.  seems a little delayed.

Hehe...ya, that was a bit odd KC.  You started this thread to show off wallpapers and then you only told us about the Linux one.
