GodIsOnVacation
I downloaded an official ea roster patch on my xbox, but does anyone know how I go about editing that in mvpedit. The only files included are data.dat, saveimage.xbx, and savemeta.xbx. The usual .dat files aren't in the folder. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Gordo
Not possible. We even can't convert the PC versions of the saved roster files (in game). Why don't you just use the rosters in the DL section here as they're probably more up to date than what EA would provide.
GodIsOnVacation
Well I downloaded an user roster as well but it was in the same format. I was just hoping to be able to use a more updated roster as a base and edit from there but it looks like I'll just have to start from scratch. Gordo
If you have a modded Xbox, no you don't. The .dat files will work, there's just one of them that gets separated from the other 19 (if you look inside the folders via ftp, you'll be able to see where they go). You can take a recent PC version of the rosters and adapt them. It's just a matter of cyberfaces..... Xbox didn't handle as many. I can't remember how many, but the bottom line is I would make the roster "standardized". In other words..... change all the faces to something between 901-915 (in mvpedit). That way you guarantee no crashes.
GodIsOnVacation
Even rosters made for mvp 15?
Gordo
Yes, it's the same 19 .dat files, it's just that (from what I remember) one of them goes to its' own location. If you don't want to spend the time going through all the teams, I would suggest changing one team to all generic cybers and then export that team. Then import that team to each of the 29 other MLB teams. Import them to your Xbox to the appropriate spots and give it a shot. If it works, then you know you can change all of the other teams in a "real" roster version.
GodIsOnVacation
Okay awesome. Thanks alot for the help man!
Gordo
Oh...one other thing. The total no. of players limit is also somewhat lower, I believe, with the Xbox, so make sure your FA pool is relatively small. Maybe no more than 75-100 players. GodIsOnVacation
Is it possible to remove players altogether?
Gordo
Within MVPedit, yes. Within the Xbox itself....you'll have to tell us.
GodIsOnVacation
It is not possible to remove players altogether within the Xbox. It has to all be done through mvpedit, which is no problem. I have to test out a pc roster yet and change to generic faces to see if I can get it to work without crashing. I'm hoping to do that this weekend. I appreciate all your help and I have one more question for you if I may. Do you know if its possible to convert an .fsh pc file to an .xsh Xbox file? For example like a cyberface or portrait.
Gordo
Yes.... didn't find it in the DL section, so I uploaded the two tools that I have. I don't recall what pc2xbox-gui is. You may just have to install and find out.I'm pretty sure the regular datafle.txt files work as is, if you want to use one. GodIsOnVacation
Okay thank you. Yeah I'll just install it and try and figure it out.
GodIsOnVacation
Did you upload those in the tools section of the DL's? I did not see them anywhere, I apologize if I just overlooked them. Never mind I'm blind I just found them. Thanks again Gordo!

GodIsOnVacation
One of the reasons I picked up an original Xbox. NFL 2k is so much better than Madden.
Gordo
I still have some old NFL 2k5 replays I saved...some polished, some I was going to make into a short demo video. Just can't get rid of them. Used to do full game recaps too. I especially used to record replays when the cpu team made some outlandish, jaw-dropping play. Here's a few if you care to look. GodIsOnVacation
Wow man those are some crazy videos. I loved the Texans/Chiefs week 1 highlight video, this game still amazes me to this day. All the mechanics were so great, I can only imagine what it would be like today if they were still made. raidersbball20
One of the reasons I picked up an original Xbox. NFL 2k is so much better than Madden. Its actually one of the backward compatible games on the 360. I do miss that game although modded Madden 08 on PC has been entertaining me now for a number of years. GodIsOnVacation
I didn't know it was backwards compatible. I bet modded Madden wouldn't be bad.
Gordo
The only thing I don't like on the Madden 08 game is the converging yellow arrows on the ball. If there was a way to hide those (I'm sure there is with transparencies), I would probably play it .
GodIsOnVacation
Yeah from what I remember Madden 08 wasn't that bad, but I still prefer my 2k5 personally.
