L1011Widebody
I had MVP Baseball 2005 working just fine before and now all if a sudden there are strange things happening that used to not. I assigned Pitch 1 to X (button 3 to MVP Baseball). When I push the X button to try to pitch, it instead brings up the roster menu options. And the buttons do not correspond to what I select, even in game. If I configure it to set Pitch 2 to button 1 (A) , when in game, it instead throws pitch 3. When I push for Pitch 3 (B), it throws Pitch 1. If I push down on the Left Analog Stick (clickit) it acts as something of an escape, and it immediately goes to menu. I do not understand what is going on here. Below you shall find a picture of my controller. The labels are what MVP registers each button press as. I also tried copying over my original controller.cfg file to try to make it work again, and it does the same thing. The buttons pushed do not correspond to the actions wanted. Please help? Perhaps there is something wrong with my controller drivers?

And has anyone else had the issue with the X button (button 3 apparently) being unusable because it brings up the bullpen/roster menu? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the XBox 360 Controllers' drivers. That didn't help, MVP is still mismatching my inputs together. I even tried copying over the settings from my previous installation of MVP Baseball but that didn't seem to work either and the X button seems hard-wired to be the 'bring up the rosters' menu when it never was a face button before, which is just strange.... I even dusted off my old Saitek P880 controller and MVP is still being all goofy on me. If I set a pitch to pitch one, it instead throws pitch two, and for throwing pitch two it throws pitch three, and I can't figure out what is going on here, even when I thought I had things rigged up right, when I had the number 1 pitch on the number 1 button, when I changed the 3 and 4 pitches mapping, it broke the number 1 pitch and made it number 2. What the hell? Has anybody else experienced anything like this? I'm even playing (or attempting to play on) a relatively fresh installation of Windows 7 64-bit, and it's like, the buttons I assign in MVP's controller config aren't the buttons that it registers. Please help someone...?

I have gotten it to where only the number 2 and number 1 pitches are mislabeled and swapped... but if I switch the buttons for the number 1 and 2 pitch to each other, it causes all the other pitches to suddenly not be what they were. I have no idea what is going on here and it is driving me nuts, I guess I can play through it if I remember to myself that 1 is 2 and 2 is 1, but what the hell, really? And the X button on the XBox 360 controller is still causing the roster options to pop up, at least with the Saitek I didn't have to worry about that, just numbers that don't mean anything and indicators that are not where they should be. 1jdh57
It's happened to me before.....it can be fixed!!! Just can't totally remember how I did it.....haha there is a thread somewhere about it on the site You will have to go into my documents...mvp2005....and find your .cfg file click on it and open it in "notepad" on your computer, see what is written, it should look something like the below. This is the code for a wireless Xbox .... copy and paste over then save at same location then change the original file as a ".cfg.original" Otherwise, pull it out of the file and put it on your desktop to save it, open the game, go into game controller and re generates a cfg file. But you should do a search for Xbox controller in the search link to find the thread, is your best bet. there should be a text for a wired xbox controller But it is fixable !! I'll try looking for the thread also profile= Controller_(Xbox_360_Wireless_Receiver_for_Windows) device= Controller_(Xbox_360_Wireless_Receiver_for_Windows) player= 1 number_of_buttons= 10
