So I have settled for using the keyboard for the past 5 years. I have never had a problem with it, although a controller may have been easier. However, MVP appears to have been made with the gamepad in mind.

The mapping when using the Numpad is pathetic, to say the least. Being a High Heat player, I am used to using the arrow keys to run around. The numpad completely ruins it for me. So I went to the controller.cfg and attempted to remap the whole thing from, basically, scratch. The problem is that not all of the buttons that you can use on the keyboard are mapped in this file.

For example, the Right Shift key (which is the killer for me). It is used to dive/slide, or, in other words, it is the equivalent to the right analog stick. However, I can't change this. So I have to keep my left hand by the right shift when I throw the pitch, which throws me off when someone is stealing/I don't need to dive, because I have mapped the "throw" keys as e, s, d, and f.

After all of this, my question is: Which controller should I get?

If you already have a ps2, I'd go with a ps2 adapter.

Radio Shack has one that's popular, there is also the joybox and the soyo.

Do a search, or just reply if you have more questions.

Conversely, if you have an XBox, get an XBox adapter or make your own adaper.
