Noob needs help on PC version. I went from MVP 03 to MVP 05.

Hi. I'm an new person to MVP 2005. I stuck with MVP 2003 so my questions may seem stupid, I don't know.

1. If I unlock all of the legendary players and add them to my rosters, won't that be cheating if I put all of these awesome players on my current rosters with todays players and I'm killing everyone with old school players? Or, is it that I unlock these players and I put them on rosters for old school teams only. Do these players go on current rosters with todays players so that, lets say, I have Mantle hitting behind Guerrero? It seems like it would be too unrealistic and as if I'm cheating really. Please help.

2. How do I increase that green area so that when I pitch I don't have to have a hard time hitting the green area in the pitch meter. What can I do with the in game "sliders" to increase that.

3. What is better, Dynasty Mode or Manager mode in YOUR opinion. No reason to list why if you are only going to say you get to build a stadium.

4. In owner mode, what is medium, small, and large budgets for? Is that my budget or every owner's budget in MLB?

5. Don't you feel too overwhelmed with the minor leagues? I just want the PC to control my minor leagues like in MVP 2003 where you don't have to do anything but put your guys in your inactive rosters. I work full time and can't be playing and taking care of 4 teams-A, AA, AAA, and my MLB team. What do you suggest I do for EASY management. I know I can adjust the email settings so I'm not bombarded with emails, but what could help me out here? Turn off injuries? Turn off suspensions? Please help.

Thank you so much I know that your help will get me through my transition from MVP 2003 to MVP 2005 and I will be grateful, sincerely. Mo

Hey Mo, here's some quick answers to your questions.

1.) There is no set answer on this if it's cheating or not, as you have the option to dis-allow legend players when you start your dynasty. But personally, I don't do it.

2.) I'm not positive if you can increase the green area or not, but under the sliders menu, there is a "Pitch Meter Difficulty". I raised that a little bit to see if it'd help, and it did. I think I raised mine up to about 15 or so.

3.) Dynasty Mode is much better. Owner Mode just seems like a waste of time to me. Just in my opinion.

4.) Don't know, I play Dynasty.

5.) I actually enjoy the minor leagues, and in fact am going to make my own minor league rosters using MVPEdit. But last year I really didn't care about them since I only had it on the XBOX, so what I'd do is just Simulate the minor league games and hope they did alright. Just pay a little attention to them, if your minor league player is upset about his contract, don't worry about it, unless he is one of your higher rated players.

Hope this helps you out, and sorry if it didn't.

I don't have mvp 2005, but I may be able to answer some of those questions as I played mvp 2004 alot.

Unlockables - do whatever you want. I personally don't unlock anything...'cept maybe jerseys. If you want to play with Babe Ruth on your angels team, then you can do so. Otherwise, just leave him "locked". There is no such thing as cheating if you're playing all by yourself. Just have fun and use any player you want to use.

Pitch meter - as far as I know there isn't really a slider that increases or decreases the green part of the pitch meter. The difficulty level does affect it and the fatigue slider. If your pitcher is really tired, the green part will get smaller and you will throw more mistake pitches and balls. Try not going all out on your pitch - don't let it run all the way to the red perhaps. Your picth will be a bit less effective, but you will save your stamina and you can still get a batter out with good placement.

I can't speak on owner mode as I don't have 2005 ( yet! )

Minor leagues - I dunno how they handled the computer optimize option this year ( say a minor leaguer gets injured, then you get the box which gives you the option to fix it manually or let the cpu fix it. Last year, the cpu would screw up your rosters...both minor league rosters and MLB rosters ). You could ignore everything that happens in your farm system, but if you're serious about playing consecutive seasons with one ball club then it'd be a good idea to keep your eyes on the minors. Maybe you could just worry about the prospects and let all the other minors just do their thing...pay em no attention.

hope this helps.

Once again, I don't have mvp 2005...but I figure that some things are still pretty similar to last year's game.

LidsDude07, can you tell me why you play 120 years in dynasty? I thought a dynasty by general definition is say, 3 years of winning the WS. I would think that there would be subgoals but that the main goal would be to win 3 WS championships. Isn't 120 years overkill, especially say if you work fulltime? I'd liek to hear your comments on that.

llcmac, can you please teach me how to change the green then? I'd like to learn. Thank you all.

Dude, Dynasty and Owner mode are pretty much the same thing. The 120 years doesn't have anything to do with it as I don't see how anyone can play a 120 year dynasty before next season's game comes out. I only do Dynasty Mode because I don't want to toy around with setting ticket prices, food, concessions, etc. And also because the Create-A-Stadium is limited as crap, it doesn't make it any fun.
