ROSTER MAKERS...Unite?

I have busted my *** for years to develop these formulas and ratings mechanisms, and they always change, they always evolve. There is a lot that goes into it calculations-wise that, quite frankly, I don't feel like taking the time to explain. I have provided general explanations about what I use to figure out ratings several times. Take the time, do the research, and work a bit instead of waiting for me to spoon feed it to you for a game I'm not even working on and there's a good chance I won't even be buying.

Chill out... yeah... but if you ask me, the whole deal about 'you created a name off of my work' is kind of childish... that's BS, I'm sorry.

I thought we were here 'as a team', to make this f*cking game as good as possible and to have a good time, but apparently, I was wrong. The same thing happened last year with Kerm's default roster set, the same thing happened with several cyberfaces mods and a similar drama happened with the other famous guy who did uniforms too (one of KC's buddies, Y2K or something like that, I don't remember).

Either we work as a team... or we simply don't work at all.

Think about that... and remember, it isn't like any of us guys is making tons of money with our modding jobs... well, except Trues who I'm sure is planning a vacation in the Caribbean very soon :mrgreen:.

ok well listen guys, im going to agree with mostly everything your saying but you see, it's like when someone puts a lot of hard time into something, and then someone else takes their work and adds to it -- like who gave u permission to touch my work?

if you like my roster so much, then go start from scratch. Even though this is online, it doesnt mean hassle me so that u can rub me out the picture and maybe thats how gforce feels.

For example, im making a uni editor but lets say i stopped dead in my tracks and some guy is like, hey fuzz can i get the source code so i can build on what u did -- dont worry, ill mention u in that readme file that people never read.

i dont know, maybe it's different and maybe its not that serious, but if i squint real hard, i can see where Gforce is comign from. The whole thing u made a name for yourself and blah blah -- well im going to disagree.

There's people on this site that brutally rip off people's work.. To keep this relevant, i remember when "guest" and an person to be unnamed rip the hell out of jpup's roster because he couldnt finish it in time and he wouldnt release it until it was perfect. So jpup's totalminors was literally raped and then everyone(more unnamed people) were telling him, whats the big deal -- u got it from gforce.

it's really different levels of stuff here. Jpup supposedly from what i understand got permission to further the roster, but his formulas -- i don't know. Who wants to be forgotten so that someone else can be remembered for their work??

Geforce, remember, this site is a little different, we are a community that tries to make the game better for everyone. You wouldn't believe the e-mails that I get everyday asking me some of the most novice questions. I answer a ton of them in hopes that they may learn something and will be able to contribute to the community in the future. that's what these guys see. which one of us contributes more? 1 roster or a year worth of helping and answering a little modding too. "Make a name", who cares?

Work done in prior years...I haven't done anything for this year, which is kind of the point. I'm not going to work out new formulas (as I said, I revise them every year based on how the ratings for the game work) for a game I'm not working on. Sorry if that gets your panties in a bunch.

Maybe the only light in your life is a video game message board, kid. I've got far more than that in mine.

I am happy to offer advice, happy to give feedback. I've noted the stats I use to develop ratings, the things I think are important to look at when evaluating a player. But I'm not developing new formulas for a project I'm not doing, nor am I detailing every formula I've used to develop TotalMinors in the past.

Wow, I didn't realize roster formulas would held peers become better people. And here I thought they were just numbers for a video game.

Jpup, if I've followed this thread correctly, you basically called out GeForce for not sharing his formulas, which made him angry and he called you out in return. How much I like your GAB mod last year--and I liked it a lot--has nothing to do with this--at all.

Having said that, I like all you guys. That's the only reason I'm doing player progression this year, because I respect the work that all of you do. Everyone has the right to share or not share their work as they see fit. I make my own decision about my work, and everyone else must do the same with theirs. And there will be some arguments along the way, just like last year.

I am confused can't we just update the rosters from last year to this year using MVPEdit. If so thats what I am doing.

Sharing the knowledge is important, but when a lot of work goes into something and that thing gets ripped off, it can be really shitty, and that is why I pulled my stuff last year from simcentral...

I can attest to the modding of a stadium, but JPup you did one stdium and that hardly made you a name. The roster made you noticable, you made the name.

GeForce has being dong this thing long before all of us. I respect the fact he worked his *** off for this board and did all the dirtty work. JPup all you did was maintain his work. Modders don't have to share their work, and respect Geforce for packing it up.

This is all for the fun of a game.

I mod for the fun of it, for myself, and i share it with you. I look at this as a way for people to input their work into a community for their benefit.

It is not submitted to be altered and abused. I don't think this stat calculator is going to do a damn thing because in 3 months a new game will come out and grab our attentions and this board will go to sleep just like it did last summer.

There is no reason to fight over this.

Just play the game and have FUN.
