Cla performed as one of the league's best setup men in 2006 with a 1.07 era (no that's not a typo) in nearly 51 innings pitched. Floyd, Green, Valentin...etc. So his numbers versus lefties plunged. He was hitting .450+ until the Nady trade. I know MarkB (who admits he didn't see a single Yankees game in the second half of the regular season) is adamant it's a 2-seamer with downward movement or whatever but when the guy who catches for him says "He throws his sinker about 85 percent of the time, and it's 95 miles per hour, heavy and has so much movement. He goes out there and keeps coming at you" I think it's time to accept and embrace reality. He hit .367 against lefties before the All-Star break, and .209 against lefties after the All-Star break. That is one hell of a drop off, regardless of who is behind you.
