When I try to export the DAT files from MVPEdit, I get the following error message:

'Roster for Free Agents has greater than 0 players, export halted'

Any ideas to help? Thanks

Yeah, I got that too, we are gonna have to wait til Hypno wakes up. Sheesh isn't 4 hours of sleep enough?!?!?!

I looked at the Free Agent list, there is 256 players in it, but only 255 spots available. I bet $1,000,000 that is the problem. We need to delete some of those players (fake, fake).

By the way I noticed not all my corrections/suggestions were NOT made for the Cardinals (For example Brennan Ryan (A) should be "Brendan Ryan")

No big deal though, you put these out in hurry. I'll go over the Cardinals rosters w/ much more detail this time around and have a better list of corrections/suggestions for the next time.

Keep up the great work (I can also look at other teams, too If you guys need the help!)

I'll post my Philly changes here....

1) So Hypno can see them 2) So people can argue with my bias-ness.

Lieber- Stance: Schimdt (Not perfect, but closest)

Abreu- Stance: Lowell (It's not Giles hasn't been for a while)

Rollins- Stance: Green, #11, Bone Profile: Athletic Big legs(Have you seen his legs? they are as thick as Thome's), Body Type: Small, 15 to 17 HR power (isn't 40's like 9 HRs?), Base running 13 or 14(Have you seen his legs? they are as thick as Thome's), Arm Strength: 13, Discipline: 9

Utley- Stance: Delgado, Range: 10 (truly his stance is Delgado without a waggle, Dumb EA games 5 years ago had waggle options, maybe I'll call Chase and tell him to waggle in the box.)

Polanco- 2nd Pos: UTIL

Howard- #6

Rotation: Lieber, Wolf, Lidle, Myers, Padilla

Position Changes

Helps cut down on MVP putting players in unnatural positions.

Other opinions I have:

Ichiro should be only a RF. Only played 3 games his career in any other pos.

Jerry Harriston Jr. First pos should be 2nd baseman, 2nd should be OF. He only played 3 innings at any other pos.

Just hear me out. Just because Ichiro would be a RF or Harriston 2nd and OF doesn't mean you cannot play them in other positions.

Jeremy Reed should have a little more range.

EDIT- (below can be argued even more, give me some evidence if you want to dispute it.)

ANA

Vladdy should also strictly be a RF.

Dallas won't be playing much CF or RF, IMO. I would put his 2nd pos as lf.

Merloni- 2nd pos: IF

Salmon- 2nd pos: LF

Finley- 2nd pos: CF (hasn't played any other pos in 13 years)

ARZ

Luis Gonzalez- 2nd pos: LF (I doubt he'll play anywhere else ever again)

Glaus- 2nd pos: 3b (he's never played 1b at all in the majors, unless he was trying it a ST)

ATL

Andruw- 2nd pos: CF (Why would he have to play anywhere else?)

.......Nevermind, I know I am gonna get bitched at. These make the game more realistic, but I'll just keep them to myself and edit them in each new roster, for my own personal use.

Which teams have been updated in the "No-So-Ultimate Roster" 2.1? Are all of the teams updated with suggestions or just a few?

did 2.1 put the injure player back in the majors?

I just uploaded version 2.2 of the Not-So-Ultimate-Rosters about an hour ago...Not many changes, but I fixed the lineup/rotations errors and the Free Agent overload error...

hypnoxx, i just updated from 2.0 to 2.1 and went through each player with a cyberface and edited him in. but i got that overflow FA error. does this mean i have to re-add in each player again for the 2.2 or can i just swap some file out? it took a long time :(

There are still waaaaaaaaaay too many utility players in this game.

LLCMAC

I agree, we should start going through the teams.

I'll take the NL. And post back here for the next upload/update

OK, after a quick glance of the National League MLB rosters, here are the ones that should be changed (just suggesting):

2ND POSITION RULES:

Play atleast 15% of their games the position within the last 2 years. There are exceptions. In a 162 game season, that comes out 24 games.

(also, happens to be the same rule as my fantasy baseball league)

ARIZONA

Troy Glaus 3B (He was "only" rumored to play 1B, if his arm injury deal heal right)

Koyie Hill C (Has never played 1B in MLB)

Chris Snyder C (Has never played 1B in MLB)

Jose Cruz Jr. RF (Most of his career has been in RF)

Luis Gonzalez LF (Has been playing LF for the last few years)

ATLANTA

Marcus Giles 2B (only played 8 games in MLB at 3B)

Andruw Jones CF

Brian Jordan RF

Raul Mondesi RF

Rafael Furcal SS (Has not played 2B since rookie year)

CHICAGO

Todd Walker 2B (Primarily used as 2B, only played 5 games (in relief) at 1B in career)

Michael Barrett C

Jose Macias

Corey Patterson CF (Primarily used as CF)

Jason Dubois

Jerry Hairston Jr. 2B (1st position), OF (2nd position)

CINCINNATI

Javier Valentin C

Ken Griffey Jr. CF (Seriously, is their any other position he’s going to play)

Adam Dunn LF (He won’t play CF again)

COLORADO

Aaron Miles 2B

Garrett Atkins 3B (He will never play 1B as long as Helton is there)

Preston Wilson CF

Matt Holiday OF (Same as Atkins)

Clint Barmes SS

FLORIDA

Juan Pierre CF (No other position played)

Miguel Cabrera LF (Hasn’t played 3B regularly in a few years)

HOUSTON

Willy Tavares LF (Mainly played CF/LF in minors)

Milton Bradley

JD Drew

Cesar Izturis SS (W/ Kent there, no need for 2B)

MILWAUKEE

JJ Hardy SS (Was kind of surprised to see UTIL)

Carlos Lee LF

Geoff Jenkins LF

NEW YORK

Doug Mientkewics 1B (only played 2B w/ ’04 Sox ‘cause of injuries & for a short period)

Carlos Beltran CF

PHILADELPHIA

Chase Utley UTIL

Kenny Lofton CF

Pat Burrell LF

Bobby Abreu RF

PITTSBURGH

SAN DIEGO

Mark Loretta 2B (played 2B for a few years now)

Khalil Greene SS (has never played 1B in majors)

SAN FRANCISCO

Ray Durham 2B (has never played OF in majors)

Pedro Feliz 3B (1st position) LF or UTIL (2nd position) (played primarily 3B entire career, only played 1B in ’04 due to injury to Snow)

Barry Bonds LF

Mike Matheny C (Wow, I never knew he played 1B…LOL)

Moises Alou LF (Before coming to SF, he was an LF)

ST LOUIS

Albert Pujols 1B (has not played any other position in 3 years)

John Mabry LF (1st position) 3B (2nd position) (Rarely played 1B)

Jim Edmonds CF

Reggie Sanders RF (Moved to LF after Walker deal)

Larry Walker RF

David Eckstein SS

WASHINGTON

After work, I'll go through these again (this was just a quick glance) but a really good start.

If you want to use 2.1, all you have to do is delete someone off of the FA list...Or, what I did was this...

Kelly Stinnett from FA --> Tucson (Arizona AAA)

Corey Myers from Tucson --> Tennessee (Arizona AA)

Daniel Uggla from Tennessee --> Lancaster (Arizona A)

(be sure to fix any lineup holes this causes)

As for injured players, they were returned to the majors in 2.1...
