wolfy6finger
I completely agree about that idea being stupid. Plus alot of wolfys changes are stupid as well. Furcal has played second since his rookie year, he started four games there in 2002 and also once last year. Brian jordan is the startinf lf in atlanta so why would he need changed to rf? What about macias? his name is there but no positions for him? same for dubois? Valentin is actually a backup first basemen, same with dunn, dunn has actually played more games at first than right field and has actually never played center in the majors. Dunn has played atleast 10 games at first in every year of his career except for his rookie season. garret atkins actually played more games at first than he did at third last year, and plus hes the top backup if helton doesnt start atkins will. Barmes actually played in as many games at second as he did at first last year and actually projects as more of a second basemen instead of a shortstop. I wont even say anything about your houston dodgers changes because im sure youll get enough crap about that from others. You want to give some crap rule about 15 percent at a postion and you go and say utley as a utility? he only EVER played first and second, so I dont really follow that one. Bby might beat me to this one but you are all wrong about feliz, he was originally set you go into this season as a first basemen against lefties and playing every except center and second against righties, until bonds went down and he was needed as a full time outfielder. Considering that mabry has played more 1b in his career and over the past three years than he has at third and he is the only other non pujols first basemen the cards have I beleive his main position should be first, and then outfield as his second. He is the starter at third now though with rolen gone down but he never played there last year so I guess that shows how much confiedence the cards have in him as a thirdbasemen. This was nothing about against you personally wolfy but I feel maybe this should be left up to the actuall roster creators, and to not use a strict formula on the matter. Ps eli marrero needs changed to be a lf as his main and 1b as his second, I dont was to see the royals starting him at short anymore in a dynasty. EDIT: looks like I should have read page 181 before I posted, alot of things I commented on cubs fan had already pointed out. the reason llcmac and I wanted to change some of these was that I simulated a few games w/ the Cards. And they kept benching Rolen and playing Albert Pujols at 3B It made no sense. This is just one example where a star player was being benched for another guy OK, on Furcal, big whoop he's played 5 games at 2B in the last years does that mean he he will play 2B again (maybe a game or two). As for Brian Jordan (yes, he does start in LF) but his secondary position should be RF (not OF). HE won't play CF, but he has played RF recently. Macias & Dubois that was more of a reminder for myself to check on them (I didn't know much on them) Valentin I didn't know about him either, but he has yet to play 1B w/ Reds (only in spring training) Dunn's 2nd position was listed as OF (not 1B), thats why it was changed from LF/RF Utley was a mistake, I meant to put IF (he has played some 3B) Atkins actually did not play 1B last year he played 6 games at 3B and 4 in the OF (He played some 1B in '03, but again more at 3B) As for the HOuston and LA thing, I think that was were I left off when I went to lunch at work. Thats why I never finished that part Mabry should be LF/3B. Over the last 2 years he played most of his games in the OF (specifically LF), then more at 3B than 1B (I just checked mlb.com) I know I'm a Cards fan. Seriously how often does Pujols miss a game in comparison to Reggie Sanders? Also, remember my rule wasn't just 15%. I also said over the last couple of years (not career). "cause we have guys that played lets say alot of 3B or LF early in their career, but have become a fulltime 1B. Think Pujols. (Even a Furcal, etc) Crap Nevin was Catcher when he first came up, but hasn't played it in years. So does that mean we play him at Catcher....NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Finally I said there was excpetions to the rule (see above) Also this was a quick glance, while I was work.
wolfy6finger
Oh yeah I also said I was "just suggesting" I'm sorry I get pissed when people call me or my ideas dumb. Especially when I all I'm trying to do is get the possible rosters for all of us (and I know I'm not the only one) If you think of it logically some of these people's 2nd positions do need to be changed. voodoo_daddy
Need to take 3B Juan Portes off of the Twins A Ft. Myers: Promising prospect Portes leaves team Also, RHP Scott Tyler needs to be on the Twins somewhere, whether its AA or AAA. The guys' on the Twins 40-man roster, so he should be in the roster. Take out Brian Wolfe and put Tyler in on the AA team, Wolfe's a dud, 7.04 ERA in AA New Britain. My suggestions: Wolfe out, Tyler in. (AA) Portes out, OF Deacon Burns in. AcousticNut
version 2.2 had sp Carlos Zambrano with the Chicago cubs with a 5 mph 2 seam fast ball. what should it be? Based on the speeds of his other pitches, it probably was supposed to be '85' as opposed to '5'. I was just playing against the Cubs and Zambrano and I'm like "WTF!!!!"..... The ball literally disappeared right after it came out of his hand and I was getting invisible strikes called on me. I came here to this thread to see if it was just a problem with me or an error in the roster. Glad it's not just me.
GamerPyle
Basics: Name: Scott Tyler #58 Birthday: August 20, 1982 (2005 age, 22) Height: 6′5″ Weight: 220 lbs (I have seen reports ranging from 210 to 235) Bats: Right Throws: Right Position: Pitcher Acquired: 2001 amateur draft Drafted: Selected by the Twins in the 2nd round (45th overall) in the 2001 amateur draft Roster: currently on 40-man; still has 3 options Contract: the minimum if he makes the roster Statistics last three seasons (complete): Year Lvl W L ERA IP H R ER HR BB SO H9 W9 K9 WHIP ———————————————————————————————————- 2002 ® 8 1 2.93 68 37 23 22 5 46 92 4.9 6.1 12.2 1.23 2003 (A) 6 12 5.50 106 93 70 65 7 82 110 7.9 7.0 9.3 1.65 2004 (A) 7 4 2.60 104 73 33 30 3 64 132 6.3 5.5 11.5 1.32 Totals: 21-17 3.79 278 203 126 117 15 192 334 6.6 6.2 10.8 1.42 (Sorry for the formatting, WordPress does not have a table feature as far as I can tell, and this was the best I could do without cutting and pasting and resorting to all sorts of other troubles…) Pitching: 1) Fastball (mid-nineties), 2) slider, 3) changeup. Tyler is an imposing presence on the mound and uses his size to bring some serious heat. However, he also struggles with his control (averaging over six walks per nine innings the past three years). His slider is above-average and he is still working to harness his changeup as a third option. Some days he can be unhittable (he brought a no-hitter into the seventh inning in one start last year), but even then his control stands as an impediment (he lost the aforementioned start). He is yet another power arm in a system stocked with power arms.
alcoholicstepfather
Not to nitpick, but Wes Letson, a relief pitcher for Myrtle Beach,, has his name misspelled. In verion 2.2 of the rosters his name is Wes Leston. Info from http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...ilb&cid=521. Other than that the Braves look great. Yes, There are way to many Util players and way to many players playing many positions. After I edited every major leaguer who wasn't a utility player, there were still 76 left, this is horrible. let's name all the true UTIL players Desi Relaford, Joe McEwing, Willie Harris, Chone Figgens, Frank Catalanatto, Bengi Gil, Denny Hocking....... Your right on Atkins, I was looking at mlb.com and the 3 games I saw for 1B was actually 2004 (not 2003) So, 2003 he had all games (19) at 3B and in 2004 he had 4 at 3B and 3 each at 1B/OF. Going by my 15% rule within the last 2 years (plus this year). He played 1B and OF roughly 7% each. (3/42) maybe I should lower my pct to 10% As for Valentin I had stated I didn't know what position other than C he played. But someone had pointed out he had played 1B in spring training. Putting him on the list was more of reminder for myself to double-check it. llcmac had brought up this point that positions needed to be changed and I agreed. I took the NL, he took the AL. He didn't mind that helped.

McCarroll21
Ok I'm bored so I'm going to do something... Every player that should have a second position will be listed with their positions. This is coming from the Depth Charts on MLB.com. If there is something wrong on this list just say it, don't get upset. I took them straight off the Depth Charts listed on MLB.com unless I knew something was different. Everyone not listed on this list should only have one position, I made a note on some guys who were once thought to be utility players that have now settled into one position on here. I think this does a pretty good job of cutting down on the utility players who only play the infield or something like that. Like I said, if there's something wrong, just post the correction and if it seems sufficient I'll edit this post to reflect that. I'm sure you know your teams better than I do, I'm just going by the depth charts. One guy I'm looking forward to hear from is Millennium about David Newhan. The depth charts only had CF listed and I haven't seen them enough this year to know differently right off the top of my head. Anyway, I see this as a good starting point...
