For the Cubs' Diamond Jaxx AA affiliate, Rich Hill (SP): SP L L 6-5 205 3/11/1980 Prospect Michigan Boston, MA...

KM

Hill supposedly has more potential to reach the biggs over Jordan Gerk...make Gerk a free agent just so any Jordan Gerk fans wont be disappointed. But, yeah Rich Hill has the makings of a quality pitcher at best Nate Robertson and worst Andy Sisco.....and Sisco ain't too bad for a Rook

BTW, I'm not trying to step on any toes with my input miget33. I just want to help. Thanks for the hard work to you and the whole Roster staff and all those involved. One last thing, any other players that have altered attributes like Zambrano's 5 mph 2-seam fastball?

Matt Murton, Diamond Jaxx (AA) LF needs his name tweaked during the introductory announcing. The PA guy gets it right, but Krukow and his buddy say a completely different name. And I also agree with kangarooboy on the Hill dilemma.

On the Hill thing I actually replaced Darren Oliver in place of Hill. I just don't think Oliver is going to stay on the team for the year. I also got rid of Shane Halter and Moriaty in place of Chadd Blasko and Luke Hagerty on my rosters. I just feel that having over the hill major leaguers instead of young prospects is not the way to go.

I am a lurker here, been enjoying the Ultimate roster updates all season...

BUT, I have to say, WHAT IS UP with these people who DEMAND stuff???

Are they aware that the folks behind Ultimate are fellow fans and not PAID staff?

I just can't believe how f*ckin ROOD some posts here are....

"why is the new file taking so long?" "fix these things NOW" "you idiots didn't get this skin color right" "where is my download?" I mean, DAMN!

If I were working on Ultimate, I would have quit by now just from so many folks here being such asses.

This is a volunteer effort folks. We are all lucky to be getting anything with the superb quality as this... these are fellow fans who are not affiliated with the company and are not making any money from this....

give them a break, or better yet, a complement on their hard work and effort.

some of you make me sick.

(p.s. edit: and no, i am not addressing the people who kindly ask for edits, like most of you... that is the point of this thread afterall.... i am addressing the people who seem to think they DESERVE this..... )

I totally agree with Tarbox...I think that Illmac, Hypnoxxx, bb king, hory, kraw, and the countless others that populate this site/thread do an amazing job...

There's no way I would have the capabilities, time, precision, and accuracy to come up with a near perfect roster.

Thanks again guys, and I hope you enjoy your summer break!

As for Utility players, i didn't see Brandon Inge's name there...he has got to be the most versatile player in the bigs. Catcher, all outfield positions, third base...

I feel ya on this...I just try and post a few minor things here and there (nothing pressing or life-threatening like some folks' seemingly "death-to-thou" comments), and my donation to MVP Planet and the folks helping to make things possible is my way of saying THANK YOU FOR ALL THE HARD WORK...I've tried to make corrections on my own (editing and such) and after an hour I feel like I've accomplished little to nothing in light of what Illmac and Hypno and Kraw and everybody else has done.

The Cubs made a BIG move today...

"Cubs agree to terms with Wilson"

The Chicago Cubs today agreed to terms with infielder Enrique Wilson on a contract for the 2005 season. In addition, the Cubs optioned infielder Ronny Cedeno to Iowa (AAA) and transferred pitcher Chad Fox to the 60-day disabled list.

Wilson, who will wear uniform #19, joins the Cubs in Pittsburgh.

Wow, Neifi Perez, Jose Macias, and now Enrique Wilson all on one team! How many scrub infielders can one team need?

Oh, yeah...HUGE move...WHATEVER...I appreciated the sarcasm though; nice. I don't know why they did this. I think they need to wait a bit on the trade status of other infield players/util players before making a move. Enrique F'ing Wilson??? Hendry is smoking some excellent grass if he thinks this will help. I actually though Cedeno was a good ballplayer (even if he only appeared in like three games). This season is turning into a circus.

Reds......Ryan Freel......2B......Util

Reds......Felipe Lopez......SS Only

Reds......Adam Dunn......LF......1B

Reds......Austin Kearns......RF......OF

Reds......Willy Mo Pena......CF......RF

Reds......Javier Valentin......C......1B

Edited to correct:

Lopez has play 3rd and 2nd already this season

For his career

Total as 2B	12

Total as 3B	82

Total as SS	200

He has 7 games at 2nd this year and 12 total, it looks like he will see alot more time at 2nd this year

Willy Mo Pena plays RF more that CF, this is is 4th season and only once did he play more games at CF than RF. And he plays LF too, the way it stands now he plays whatever outfield position is open, if someone needs a day off that is where he plays

For freel you have his 1st position as 2nd base, well he has more games for his career at 3rd, CF, & RF than 2nd

Glass half full philosophy I suppose...but we're still gonna have a hell of a time scoring runs and staying healthy...it's a shame that the only guys I look forward to seeing hit are Lee, Burnitz, and Ramirez (I'm even a little shaky with Ramirez, given that he's put too much pressure on himself this season)...as a diehard Cubby fan, I try and stay positive, but right now that glass half full is quickly being devoured by a cardinal, a ship-faring lad with an eye patch, and a drunken-yellow bearded dude named Billy (not to mention all of the East and West, which are playing better ball than the Cubbies...aside from the Rockies and our own basement-dwelling 'Stros)

I have a solution to the mis-matched pa and pbp annoucements for some of the created players.

EA has "hidden" PA audio for minor leaguers using audio ids 2666-3228

however pbp audio for fake created players uses numbers 3001-4550

so to resolve the conflict I used BigGUI to delete the pbp audio using numbers 3001-3228

open MVP Baseball 2005dataaudiospch_pbppnamehdr.big

with BigGUi - select the files from 3001a.hdr 3001d.hdr - 3228a.hdr 3228d.hdr

amd select delete, then close and

then open MVP Baseball 2005dataaudiocdspch_pbppnamedat.big

select 3001a.dat 3001d.dat - 3228a.dat 3228d.dat

and delete them as well

the only drawback from doing this is that there is no pbp audio for some in-game generated fake players, so that's no real loss at all

My question is on some of the veterans AAA hitters (like age 26+). Don't alot of them seem like they suck a tad more then they should- especially with power?

I probably am totally wrong but guys like Tim Salmon, Greg Colbrunn, etc just seem like they should hit better to me than 50/40 based on their careers when a Lou Marloni has a 82-74 lefties split.

I am not ragging on the roster makers as this is a minor thing but here are some AAA hitters that i think could be raised which also makes then better MLB depth for injuries. I am not saying like 20 Power better but better than so pro backup SS/2B.

I am using the minorleaguebaseball.com (current stuff) site and www.thebaseballcube.com (historical minors/pro stats) for my guessamates. None of these changes is going to change the face of baseball but in my opinion would be helpful.

ANA- Tim Salmon- power for sure +10 or so per side

ANA- Nick Goreault pow +5

Atl- James Jurries- Power, +5

Bal- Alex Freire- power +7

Bal- Nap Calzado- Avg +5

Bos- Shoppach- Power +3

Bos- Lombard- power +4

CHN- Scott McClain - power +5

CHN- David Kelton- power raised averaged in the high teens- low 20's +5

CHN- Deblois power +5

CWS- Jorge Toca power +4

CWS- Greg Norton- power +4

Cin- Jason Romano- Avg +5

Cle- Jake Gautreau- Avg and power +5

Cle- Ernie Young - power +5

Fla- Wilson Delgado- 84 at Avg vs R- nah- lower that

Fla- Josh Willingham- power +5

Fla- Mark Little - power +5

Hou- Mike Coolbaugh- power +5

Hou- Danny klassen- avg +5

Min- Brent Abernathy- Avg +5

Min- Todd Dunwoody- Avg +4, Pow +4

LA- Chin- Feng Chen- Avg +4, Pow +5

NYY- Damian Rolls- avg +6

NYY- Dave Parrish- Avg +5

NYM- Brian Daubach- Avg +4, Pow +4

NYM- Ron Calloway Avg +5

MIL- Kevin Orie- Avg +5

Oak- Dan Johnson- Avg +4, Pow +4

Oak- Shawn Garrett- Avg +7

Phi- Chris Coste- Avg +12, Pow +4

Phi- Marlon Byrd- Avg +5

Pit- Graham Koonce- Pow +8, Also Righties percent are off- listed at 100%

SD- Jon Knott- Avg +4, Pow +4

SF- Todd Linden- star power listed at none- i think average

SF- Doug Clark- Avg +4

SEa- Chris Snelling- Star power avg

Sea- Aaron Rifkin- Pow +12

Stl- Wilton Guerrero- Avg +10

Stl- John Nelson- Avg- +10, Pow +10

TB- Eric Munson- Pow vs R +15

Tex- Manny Alexander- Avg +4 vs R

It may be that these were EA's rankings...just curious about the subject myself. I mean, a lot of the top 100 prospects don't have great ratings to begin (For example, 3B Mark Teahan KC)...

I'm waiting for something like this before I start a new dynasty.

That likely could be true, since i believe everyone i listed is 26 or older the potential of raises guys like these shouldn't be that major. I assume they won't jump to a 80/80 or anything crazy due to their age and the fact that most are 0 to 3 stars.

Newbie question here...I load these rosters with MVP edit..I export them to MVP/data folder..load up the game and nothing has changed...what am I doing wrong? I edited a couple things myself just to see if it worked and nothing...I click export to export them, it asks me if I want to overwrite and I say yes, yet the rosters are the same..any help? Thanks

You are putting it in the wrong folder. It's supposed to go to the database folder that is a subfolder of the data folder.

I noticed that Carl Pavano of the Yankees is listed as stocky big chest in the game. This is not correct. The guy is slim (tall, but slim). It seems the game takes into account only the guy's weight (in that they error too at times) but not the height ratio to the weight. So a guy might be 241 pounds, (I doubt he weighs that much anyway) but at 6 feet 5 inches, that's definitely not stocky. (just look at him, he has a completely flat chest & stomach, though he is wide).

I would therefore change his body type from average to large in addition to making him slim & large chest.

True. I know that you suggested that Brian Daubach (1B AAA Norfolk Tides - Mets Affiliate) have his ratings bumped up. But, he was released by Boston earlier this spring, and did not do well last year. Which is probably why his ratings are around 50/50.
