MarkB
They players will, more than likely, spend more time playing in the minors that in the majors, at least in the first year, so what's the point? I'd rather have players numbers correct 90% of the time when they are in their normal level than correct 10% of the time when they are only in another level due to an injury. Seems logical enough to me.

Stix
Forgot Blaine Boyer. He's wearing # 48 in Atlanta with his socks low as well, black glove. He goes over his head in his windup so change it to style 6. Boyer is missing his best pitch which is the sinker. From the handbook: "Boyer operates with two plus pitches. His heavy sinker sits at 92-93 mph and generates plenty of groundball outs." In watching him this afternoon in his debut, it was right at 92 as forecasted with pretty good command. Correct me if I'm wrong but he's right handed. In UR v2(which I'm using because I'm waiting for v2.4) he's a lefty.

Zelda55
ok i have some tips for the next roster in this set: there are numerous mistakes i noticed, especially for the red sox and white sox so i'll try to be as unbiased as possible and help out as much as i can at the same time: manny ramirez: you could probably get away with leaving his power in the 90s, but i would lower it...the main problem with him is that you need both of his contact ratings in the mid-80s. jason varitek: a big change is in need for this guy because you have his contact and power very low vs. righties and very high vs. lefties (he's a switch hitter), but the truth is that he's a great power hitter from his left side too so make his contact about 77 and his power 82 from that side. also, i noticed that his contact is 92 vs. lefties, so that needs to be lowered to around 88. mark bellhorn: he's misunderstood because he has good power when he makes contact with the ball so both his left and right power ratings should be in the mid-high 70s. his contact vs. righties tho, should remain in the low 60s as he strikes out more than anyone else in the league. the main thing i was concerned about was his hot/cold zones. he smacks balls that are high and inside and high and away vs. righties (hot), but he sucks at straight up high pitches (cold). he rarely chases balls of any kind so that should be lower. david ortiz: he used to be a terrible vs. lefty hitter, but he's gotten better. i feel his power should be 87 vs. lefties and his contact should be upped to 70 (this makes him a better hitter overall than manny, but imo i think he has been the better player the last 2 years). edgar renteria: basically for him just lower the power rating vs. lefties to 81 and lower his contact vs. lefties to 90...now that he's in the AL you'll see that he's definitely not a 94 contact hitter. trot nixon: for him, his power rating vs. righties needs to be 88 and his contact vs. righties needs to be lowered to 87 (he's good but not a 90)...also, his hot/cold zones against righties are the whole middle zone top to bottom and high and inside. vs. lefties down the middle should be hot and up and inside should be hot, the rest should be neutral/cold. arroyo/wells: i put these two together because both of their fastball control ratings should be in the 70s (i would say 75 for arroyo and 78 or 79 for wells) specifically for arroyo his slider and slurve have CRAZY movement and they are his best pitches so i would put both of those at 85 movement and control at 83. you may not agree but ive seen arroyo pitch many times and the breakingball is his go-to pitch because half the time he can't throw a fastball across the plate when he really needs to. john olerud: man you guys really beat up on this guy...first of all he gets called up to the MLB, next his contact ratings need to be up there in the high 70s, and lastly, his power should be in the high 60s/low 70s from both sides of the plate...come on guys he's hitting .360 for the red sox right now and he was key even last year in the playoffs for the yankees. tim wakefield: this might be personal preference but make his knuckleball control around 65 because you never know what its gonna do...he can only control it to a certain extent. chicago white sox: i know less about the white sox, but i do know that mark buehrle and jon garland are way underrated in the ultimate rosters. you guys could probably look up why garland has been so successful this year, but buehrle is more of a well-known guy so you could probably figure that out easier and raise those ratings appropriately. derek jeter and johnny damon: i feel like you guys really underrated these two excellent leadoff hitters. jeter's contact ratings should both be in the high 80s (come on! ) and damon should be 90 vs. righties and high 80s vs. lefties (because he knows how to hit that ball high and inside or just slap it for a base it against them...plus he's been an easy .300 hitter the last 3 seasons). that's a lot of typing so i'll just leave it at that for now and i hope you'll consider why i called for these particular adjustments and maybe incorporate some of them. :D
MarkB
So what if you want to call up Brandon League for example and he has the number 8, but he wears #22 in the big leagues. Then you have to find out his number, and restart the game again. Looks like you missed my point. Either way, some of the numbers will be wrong. If you give the guys on the 40-man roster their actual numbers when on the 40-man roster for the major league team, then they will have the wrong numbers when playing in the minor leagues. If you give them their minor league numbers, then their numbers will be wrong when playing for the major league team. Whatever you decide, the numbers will be wrong at some point. My point was, why not have them wrong as little as possible rather than having them use a number which they wouldn't use if they are on the minor league team for more than 50% of the time? It's a bit of a lose-lose situation, so the object should be to minimise the amount of time that the numbers are wrong for.
teeds
in my opinion if the player is called up to the major leagues, he should be given that number.
LetsGoFish2015
I forget which specific rosters it is, but the recent one with 25-man at all levels (also has such minors as Michael Tucker for Jupiter Marlins). It doesn't work in mvpedit, probably b/c of too many players at A. How can I fix this issue to use it AND export from mvpedit??

I think this would be more convincing if you did this- Ortiz- Hitting .313 vs L this year my comment- although this is is only in 67 AB and his three year split is .227 Lowe- It does seem his Staminia should be raised- 200+ inning avg In sims i did, i did lower Renteria stuff and he sucked each time- not sure why. Manny- Sims good for me how he is now. Jeter, Varitek and Damon- i suggested stuff for recently and the CWS. I think Olerud could use a raise but his 3 year split is .284 R and .260 L so i feel your high on on the L and power thing. David wells as 4 BB in 60's innings. had 20 in 195 last year- If control is his problem its not showing in BB. Nixon, Bellhorn, Arroyo- i have no idea- i never looked at these guys but your Nixon sounds better. He is .299/.561 three split split vs R. Bellhorn- from ESPN- Bellhorn is a Moneyball player taken to an illogical extreme. His career on-base percentage is more than 100 points higher than his batting average. Nearly half of his 2004 plate appearances produced a strikeout, walk or home run. The lack of contact makes him an unorthodox No. 2 hitter, but that's where manager Terry Francona used him most often. Bellhorn succeeds at hitting fastballs on the outer part of the plate. Curves give him trouble. So raising misses and/or contact seems to make sense here. Don
