Ultimate Roster Project (PC,Xbox,PS2)

Recommended Posts

I guess it's time to assume the obvious---

llcmac is dead.

Unfortunately for all of us, llcmac was the last person working on these rosters, not me. So to the best of my knowledge, it is quite possible that NONE of the changes that have been requested or posted since version 2.35 have been applied.

So where do we go from here? Well it's simple really. I don't have a heck of a lot of time on my hands, so I need someone who is really bored and really dedicated to these rosters to do us all a huge favor and gather up ALL suggestions that have been made since version 2.35. It'll be a lot easier for me to get Ultimate Rosters off of life support and back on its feet if I have a comprehensive list of all the changes that need to be made in front of me.

Here is the thing, I have already done loads of updates to this roster. So unless you have done updates yourself, I think it would make the most sense to use my roster as a basis. The only thing is that I have also updated cyberface numbers which match my particular build of the models.big. So if Bodihall & Jogar 84 & terminator korea & any other cyberface maker that has done work & released their work on this site agree that the models.big be released along with the roster, this would work great.

SO YOU MODDERS OF CYBERFACES I MENTIONED ABOVE, COME ON, MAKE THIS A TEAM EFFORT WHERE WE ALL GAIN FROM THIS. I will then release it all in one shot.

On a separate note, if I can get permission from the uniform makers of this site which are 613 moser , ram, bigbully, kcstar, then I could release an even better version of the models.big which also include uniforms.

So come on guys, I am not in this for credit, I just want as you guys do, to give all of us a better experience at playing this game in an enjoyable fashion.

I'm done compiling the list of wishes for 2.4. Where do you want it or do you want me to start with 2.35 as a base and start making the changes?

(You forgot UMachines in that list of uniform modders); If someone were to have a lot of updates to their models.big file and just release that models.big file as a download, that would be so awesome. That would save a lot of people (including myself) a ton of time and maybe even solve some problems that a lot of people have been having with their models.big file, etc...

this sounds like a great idea big smooz.

also, another idea: is it possible to write a batch file that modifies the face ids of the rosters? that way when someone releases a cyberface, it will edit the face number of the player in the roster instead of manually going through each player in mvpedit.

I have begun work on version 2.4 tonight. Everyone thank Totte for gathering all the info for me in such a short time.

Please do not ask when 2.4 will be released. Just be happy to know that it WILL be released.

I also have been updating the v2.35 with the changes for the board here and of course adding the numerous tweaks i have mentioned on the boards. In addition, a few hundred tweaks not mentioned based on research.

I also added, i believe 2/3 to 3/4 of the round 1 guys from the past draft (i could use alot of feedback on them). I have PIMed HypoXxx with the url to my Dat files because i don't want to step on any toes of the guys who really did so so much of the work.

I think alot of us are pushing for the best roster set possible. The suggestions on the board help so much.

Hyp, thanks so much for getting back to us. The value of 2.4 goes way beyond those of us on the board who are stoked that it's on the way.

And Totte, many thanks for your continued dedication. These rosters are far too good to come this far and fizzle out. I'll give another look at my two teams and anything I see to be included before the next update.

The ultimate project lives on!

4 Transactions made can't fit as is...

RP Joe Dawley to Cubs (AAA)

INF Cody Ransom to Cubs (AAA)

3B Edgar Gonzalez to Nationals (AA)

RP R.D. Spiehs to Seattle (A)

All 3 organizations are filled and have no space to bring on anymore players. I need to know who to cut if I am to fit them in, otherwise they will remain in the FA List...

I say cut the crappiest guy in A-ball if he isn't a solid prospect.

just leave em' as free agents....let whoever downloads the roster decide who to cut or leave on the FA list. 25 man rosters and no DL hinders the ability to have 100% correct rosters. 92% plus a bunch of free agents that might actually play in the majors or minors is good enough. Now making each cyber player look like their real life counterpart (pitches, speed, skill, etc.) is the real challenge. Side note, Cubs AAA Pitcher Cliff Bartosh wears high-socks and Nefi Perez's batting stance looks kinda like Kenny Lofton's. Cubs Optioned pitcher John Koronka to Iowa of the Pacific Coast League (AAA); recalled pitcher Rich Hill from Iowa; placed pitcher David Crouthers on waivers for the purpose of giving him his unconditional release.

Oops... you're right. I did forget. I actually typed his name, then as I was typing the post I decided to reword it, so I erased what I had typed & then forget to mention Umachines. I AM HEREBY ASKING UMACHINES ALSO IF I CAN RELEASE HIS WORK. (if I am to release that version of the models.big)

& yes, I do... I have all of those updates plus basically every cyberface from this site (except non roster names, like strawberry etc...) I WANT to release this along with the roster. I want people to enjoy a game with all the updates & they would not have to put all the hours into this. trust me, I have put in hundreds of hours into this. & I want to help everybody, but I am stuck not getting an ok so far, except from hyponxxx (roster maker)

OK... I guess this ends my plan... what a shame. I could have saved people what literally has taken hundreds of hours of work.

No non-standard cyberface ids in the rosters please....

Here is the thing. If the roster would be released along with a models.big that has these numbers, it wouldn't matter that they are non standard. The reason why the ID's are nonstandard is, because there was no stadard to begin with. Many cyberface makers released cyberfaces with conflicting ID's & hence it was necessary to adjust it. Believe me, it would have been SO MUCH EASIER, if this had not been the case.

Anyway, if you change your mind & if the cyberface makers are ok with this, I think a release of both the models.big & the roster together, would work best.

P.S. if the uniform modders give permission, then I can release a different models.big & the uniform.big plus the rosters. (which with all the updates I have done is quite a cool addition to anybody's game)

Just to wet people's appitites, my models.big contains so much that the size of it is, 571 megabytes. (filled with uni's & cyberfaces)

How exactly would that be done? Since you are not actually telling it to do anything (like opening or closing or extracting) as far as I can see. (Though this is not my area of expertise so perhaps I am missing a way of how it may actually be done.)

ORIOLES UPDATES:

To update Chris Ray (AA Bowie, called up to Baltimore for good earlier this week in place of RP John Parrish) further:

Delivery - Oswalt

Slider - 65 Movement, 10-4, 60 control, 86 speed

Remove Change-Up, he doesn't throw one anymore, and replace with...

Splitter - 50 movement, 12-6, 53 control, 88 speed

Also, an update to Daniel Cabrera:

Delete Curve (what he throws as his out pitch is a 12-6 slider that has been called a 'power curve' at times, but can only be replicated in this game with a slider).

Slider - 60 Movement, 12-6, 66 control, 87 speed

Also, in terms of O's roster/line-ups, it should look like this now (without injuries):

Vs. RHP

2B Brian Roberts

3B Melvin Mora

SS Miguel Tejada

RF Sammy Sosa

1B Rafael Palmeiro

C Javy Lopez

DH Jay Gibbons

CF Luis Matos

LF Larry Bigbie

Vs. LHP

2B Brian Roberts

3B Melvin Mora

SS Miguel Tejada

RF Sammy Sosa

C Javy Lopez

LF Eli Marrero

DH B.J. Sufhoff

1B Chris Gomez

CF Luis Matos

Bench:

C Geronimo Gil

Rotation:

Rodrigo Lopez

Daniel Cabrera

Erik Bedard (Hayden Penn could be here on the injury rule, but, without Bedard's injury, Penn doens't see the majors yet, so I would suggest keeping him at AA Bowie)

Sidney Ponson

Bruce Chen

Relief

LRP James Baldwin

MRP Steve Kline

MRP Stever Reed

MRP Todd Williams

MRP Chris Ray (Brought up in a performance move, not a injury related, for John Parrish, so should be on the MLB club while Parrish is at AA Bowie)

SU Jorge Julio

CL B. J. Ryan

Glad to see you back on the project, Hyp, can't wait ti start my franchise.

I came across this cyberface of Felix Hernandez and was thinking that we should use Bobby Abreau's ID for the kid since they're so similar. Check it out:

http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?name=Foru...pic&t=12178

Since they're in different leagues, it wouldn't be that awkward and allows us to give a prospect a face without a crash. Just a thought.

I have caught up on all fixes/changes/suggestions thus far. I am, however, going out of town until the middle of next week. So here's what I need:

Totte: I'm hoping you'll keep up with the changes and be ready with a new list once I announce my return. Also, if you could keep going with those star power fixes (wasnt sure if it were an ungoing thing or not) that'd be great.

I need one more volunteer, and the job will go to the first person to post here asking for it (that way I dont have several people working on it for naught)...I need someone to go through 2.35 and list ALL the players with the Bent stance. I saw that someone else was supposed to have it on an old post (if anyone remembers who, chime in), otherwise, with the exception of Rickey Henderson, I will eliminate the bent stance from version 2.4.

After I've done all this, I will begin work on fixing lineups and any errors. Then we should see a release. I will also make sure a version 2.5 is released after the trading deadline. After that, however, I may be looking to turn the project over to someone else. Stay tuned....

The thing is, if you release the rosters with non-standard cyberface id's, kraw has to go through and change them all back to default before he converts to xbox/ps2, any pc player who does not have your particular configuration of models.big will have to do the same (or download your 500mb file and use it).

Perhaps there could be a alternative version of 2.4 with the cyberface ids and accompanying models.big for people who want it. But having the non-default cyberface ids in the 'standard' version of 2.4 will cause many problems for many people.

By the way, perhaps there could be a .dat version of 2.4 released along with the .mbe, I'm kinda sick of having to explain to newbies how to use mvpedit.

The problem people had when it was last released as .dat was that it was zipped inside a folder within the zip, so people who weren't paying attention would be unzipping the rosters to data/database/Ultimate Roster 2.0/ so perhaps releasing it as .dat without the folder may be the way to go?
