the White Sox dont NEED to be ranked #1 just becuz they won....in 2003 the Yankees were a MUCH better team then the Marlins and lost in the world series....i think the Cardinals r a better team then both the Astros and the White Sox but of course we saw what happened to them.....i understand what u mean u want to make it more realistic but the White Sox are not number one....i would go with Cardinals with the White Sox falling #2

We'll see how the rating changes works out but I'm not going to put any extra energy on making the teams rated like they finished the season or so.

The problem is that if you're running an Owner Mode and view your Organisation Staff, the picture of the former manager and his name are shown instead of the new.

I'm getting the new manger name but the old manager's picture

I do not see an option from within MVPedit

but you can manually edit the manager.dat file

here is the line for the reds manager

change it from

05be906f1,0 Jerry,1 Narron,2 41,3 5037,4 72,5 200,6 36,7 902,8 0,9 2,10 2,11 2,12 0,13 2,14 71,15 71,16 81,17 77,18 10,19 1,20 732,;
to this
05be906f1,0 Jerry,1 Narron,2 41,3 5050,4 72,5 200,6 36,7 902,8 0,9 2,10 2,11 2,12 0,13 2,14 71,15 71,16 81,17 77,18 10,19 1,20 732,;

3 5037 to 3 5050

5050 it the portrait ID Hory used in his Reds total portraits update

Kelvim Escobar (LAA) needs some tweaking to his pitches.. I'm not sure if he throws a slider at all, I was watching him in the playoffs and his pitches seemed to be:

fastball (94-97mph)

splitter (11-5, around 90)

forkball (12-6, around 90)

cutter (93-94)

and he might have a change but I dont remember seeing it

Well, look at the stats -

Regular season - STL 100-62 CWS 99-63

Postseason - STL 5-4 CWS 16-1

Total STL 105-66 CWS 115-64

So I don't quite see how you could rank Stl above the sox...

The rankings themselves in the end are pretty meaningless really, it's just that after simming the 05 season 10 times with the current rosters the Whitesox only made the postseason 2/10 times which is a little too low in my opinion.

Total STL 105-66 CWS 115-64

So I don't quite see how you could rank Stl above the sox...

because they did not play the same teams

lets look at

ExW-L:

ExW-L: Expected W-L*, ExWP: Expected winning percentage* *ExW-L and ExWP are derived from Bill James' Pythagorean theorem of baseball: Runs scored [squared] / (Runs scored [squared] + runs allowed [squared]). This formula was designed to relate a team's runs scored and runs allowed to its won-lost record.

Wsox

92-70

Cards

100-62

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/standings?ty...rder=false&st=2

as for the sox not making the playoffs (in simed seasons) it is because they were playing above themselves

if you go by ExWL, the white sox would not had made the playoffs, the Indians would had.

here is what the playoff picture would have looked like

AL East - Boston

AL central - Cleveland

AL West LA Angels

Wildcard Oakland

NL East - Atlanta

NL Central - St. Louis

NL West - San Diego

Wildcard - Houston

Well if you add in the Whitesox postseason record to their ExWL they have a better winning record than the Cards.

My point is the sox were the only team to win 115 games this year

They may have a worse run differential than the cards which gives them a poorer ExWL yet they are 35-19 in 1-run games compared to stl 21-25 - which shows they are better when it matters rather than being able to run big numbers up against crappy NL central pitching.

So, should we expect this in the next couple of days or what? I'm eager to start another dynasty...

In the next couple of days yes. It won't be released any later than friday...

(I have two midterms coming up this week...)

Assign Bobby Jenks as the White Sox closer and I think El Duque needs to be a reliever... at least he was the last couple of games.

Jenks has been moved to closer but Hernandez stays in the rotation.

Idea:

Make all the re-signing contracts changes(i.e resigned for another year, contracts extensions, etc) but DO NOT release any players. That way, we keep the players that will continue with the team but do not lose the players that will be released because then the Majors will be filled with minor league players and it'll be a mess.

That's exactly what I have planned but thanks for the input though *thumbs up*

With a new update due for release within a few days I need some help from you guys. As most of you know I've decided to update the managers in the next version - but which teams do I update?

Baltimore - What's the name of the new guy that took over?

Cininnatti - I think they made a manager move mid-season but I'm not sure. Who's the new guy?

Detroit - Fired Alan Trammell. Who should I put in his place?

Florida - Fired Jack McKeon. I'll add Joe Girardi.

Kansas City - Fired their manager during the season but who's the new guy?

Los Angeles - Fired Jim Tracy. Should I add Orel Hershiser?

Pittsburgh - Fired Nate McClendon. Hired Jim Tracy.

Tampa Bay - Lou Piniella was fired. Who should I add?

Who am I missing out on on?

Thanks for you help

Another idea:

Update the teams that released a manager and hired another manager. If a team released their manager and do not yet have a replacement, then leave it as it is.

Kansas City Royals - Buddy Bell

Baltimore Orioles - Sam Perlozzo

Cincinatti Reds - Jerry Narron(He took the job mid-season and I think his contract was extended)

In Detroit's page, the manager listed is Jim Leyland but I don't know if that's accurate or not.

The others do not have a manager yet. The only in doubt is Detroit's as I'm not sure if Jim Leyland is their manager.

So only Los Angeles and Tampa Bay should remain with the same manager... maybe Detroit as I'm not sure.

I'm moving Jim Tracy from the Dodgers to the Pirates. Should I just swap Tracy for McDonnell?

The three finalists to get the Manager role in Tampa Bay are: Joe Maddon, John McLaren and Bobby Valentine.

As for the Dodgers... Bobby Valentine or Herschiser.
