I think this is what should be done with the issue of the free agents. Like I said before, if a team exercises the option of a player, add a year to that player's contract. If a player exercises his option, add a year to that player's contract. If a team signs a minor leaguer then place that minor leaguer in that team. BUT if a team doesn't exercise the option of a player or the player doesn't exercise his option, then DO NOT release the player as it would cause a lot of mess. I'm just saying, that to have the most updated roster, those that are leaving their teams should be kept and those that are resigning should be kept too. And obviously, the trades and signings should be done too.

Due to some NYY-organisation erros in the rosters, the release of 4.0 will be delayed until further notice. As I'm going out of town for the weekend, Mark.B is helping me out trying to crack the NYY-error. Due to this, the next update will be out sometime in the beginning of next week.

Sorry for the delay! I know that some of you guys are really eager to start your dynasties but this delay will without doubt increase the quality of the rosters.

I can fix it if needed

Please talk to Mark.B about it since I'm leaving town in a few hours. He has the rosters during the weekend.

I'd appreciate it if you could help out :)

Is there a way to keep the managers that have been fired in the hire staff option? I think it would be cool to hire Lloyd McClendon or one of the other guys that have been fired to manager my minor league teams.
I only think you can do that in Owner Mode.

whats the latest version to download?

thanks

3.14 is the latest version.

4.0 will be out within a few days with updated All-Star Teams, Managers, Transactions, Ratings and Appearance corrections. I've also decided to bring in MarkB's highly regarded NYY-organisation rosters to add even more depth to the UR-series.

That's good, I just hope it doesn't distort the competitive balance among the minor league teams thopugh.

Mark tried it out and experienced a great AA-game. Kraw is running some tests on it as we speak.

I've done some serious tweaking since the last version, and all the systems have been brought down considerably (hopefully this will kill most of the "over-rated" messages I got for previous versions, even though I repeatedly noted that they were still in beta versions and were nowhere near a full release). I tested the current version with U.R. 3.15 beta earlier, and I believe the Yankees were 4th, Clippers were 18th, Thunder were 6th and Tampa Yankees were 24th.

For comparison, the Yankees were knocked out at the ALDS stage, the Clippers missed the playoffs by one game, the Thunder were knocked out in the ELDS and the Tampa Yankees finished the season 5th in a 6-team division with a winning percentage of .353. The Tampa Yankees are mostly filled with younger guys from mid-low A, hence the low rankings. It's not uncommon to see ratings in the 20's in there.

I think it's pretty close to reality, and it plays well.

I was meaning the balance when simming seasons rather - because most other organisations haven't had the attention to detail the Yankees/Cubs/RedSox have had, there is the problem their minor-leaguers will be/are "over-rated" compared to equal or better players on their less popular and attention-starved counterparts.

Of course the answer is to do detailed updates of all 30 mlb teams and their affiliates - but of course I don't see any volunteers to update the Rockies or the DevilRays farm systems. :)

Do we even have any D'Rays or Rockies fans here on the boards? :)

I'd be glad to do it if I could just get some insight on their systems...

OK, Totte, a few FA changes.

Alex Graman was signed by the Louisville Bats not long after the Yankees released him, he's still on the FA list.

Bret Prinz was with the Angels for most of the year, spending time in AAA, AA and rookie league. He's on the FA list, but I'm not too sure of his status as of now.

Bobby M. Jones is on the FA list, but he was signed by the White Sox and assigned to their AAA team earlier in the year.

Javier Ortiz was signed by the White Sox and appeared in their A-Advanced, AA and AAA teams. He isn't on the rosters at all. If you want to include him, he's probably best on AA. He spent a little more time in AAA, but had a 7.84 ERA, compared to a 3.52 ERA in AA. If you need someone to move, Kevin Walker was promoted to AAA, William Glen seems to have been released in May and I can't find any record of Josh L. Fields at all.

I might have more later. :)

Hey, how about editing Team Tendencies? I don't know if that would make a major difference or not because I checked St. Louis' and in Suicide Squeeze it had 0 when La Russa likes to do it a lot. Maybe checking and adjusting a few things would make for more accuracy in play. And also, editing intensitys, so for example in NY it would be maxed out but in Tampa it wouldn't have that much of an intensity...

Just something to look at.
