Just wanted to let you guys now that the Dec 18th release date for UR 4.6 seems solid but things have changed with short notice before. I've updated all the transactions as of today. What remains to be done is to fix all lineups and rotations that's been fucked up making all the transactions.

As a side note, here's a few transactions you guys missed out on (courtesy of USA Today):

CWS trade RP Damaso Marte to PIT for IF/OF Rob Mackowiak.

CIN release RP Randy Keisler.

CLE sign SP Paul Byrd.

John Olerud retires.

SEA acquire RP Marcos Carvajal from COL.

KC trade IF Fabio Castro to TEX for 3B Esteban German.

PIT release Ty Wiggington.

*Note: I'm posting these in case some of you missed out on them. Not to say that you guys did a crappy job covering the transactions while I was gone - it's the other way around. If you guys hadn't posted the signings, I'd have to track down every move before updating the rosters meaning that you probably wouldn't have seen UR 4.6 until Dec 22nd or so. I guess I'm trying to say thank you for helping out - THANK YOU!

Please post some info on prospect Alexi Casilla and I'll be sure to add him in UR 4.6
He is on the Minnesota Twins.

Pos: 2B

Bats: B

Throws: R

DOB: 7/20/1984

Age: 21

By now we all know that the Twins got a young middle infielder (turned 21 last July) from the Angels for JC. We know that he played a little at AA and AAA, but most of last year was at Cedar Rapids of the Midwest League (Low-A) and although not amongst the youngest in the league he was younger than the norm. We know that he is fast and hit for a high average.

We may even know that his line last summer at Cedar Rapids was 308ab/.325Ave/.392OBP/.409SLG. Further research tells us he has good plate discipline with 29BB/31SO and is good stealing bases with 47SB/59Attempts. We were even able to find out that he had 15 errors in 78 games...a pace equal to about 66% of the errors Plouffe had at Beloit in 127 games.

Last July the Beloit Snappers played Cedar Rapids in a 4 game series. Beloit was a playoff team with very good pitching. So how did Casilla do against our guys?

In game 1, Beloit sent out our ace Kevin Slowey. Casilla's line for the game was: 2 for 4 (both singles), 1 run, 1 rbi, 1 stolen base and 1 caught stealing, 1 fielding error and part of 3 double plays at shortstop. Against Slowey, he was 1 for 3 including his run and rbi with both stealing attempts.

In game 2, Beloit pitched Kyle Waldrop. Casilla's line was: 2 for 4 (both singles), 1 run, 1 stolen base, 1 caught stealing and 1 fielding error at shortstop. He was 2 for 3 against Waldrop and grounded out against reliever Josh Hill.

In game 3, Beloit pitched Matt Garza. Casilla's line was: 1 for 3 (single), with a walk, a hit by pitch, 1 run, no stolen bases, no errors, however, 1 double play at shortstop. His hit came off reliever Angel Garcia in the 9th.

He did not play in game 4.

So was there anything new that I learned from this brief July snapshot? First, he played shortstop against the Snappers, however, also played a lot of second base during the season. Second, he had two of his 15 errors in 3 games vs. Beloit which was higher than his average vs. the rest of the league. Three, he was 2 for 4 stealing vs. Beloit and 45 for 55 vs. the rest of the league...that may tell us something about Beloit's Javi Sanchez! He faced Slowey, Waldrop and Garza and did well against all three (he didn't get any hits off Garza, but got on base twice with a walk and HBP).

Sounds like he is an exciting lead off hitter that makes things happen once he gets on base. Is he worth JC Romero? We will find out a few years from now if he makes it to the "Show." When he does make it, an interesting trivia question will be to ask the common fan how the Twins obtained him...expect most fans won't remember. Not unlike asking the common fan how we got Jason Bartlett?

I'm from Taiwan.

Many good players from Taiwan.

But in the Ultimate Roster, these players not in correct MLB/MILB position.

For example,Chien-Ming Wang,The Yankees player.

He is this ball season in MLB.

But in Ultimate Roster,he is on the Yankees AAA?

Perhaps I said speech a little too,and the grammar is not good.

But hoped can listen to my opinion, lets Ultimate Roster be better. :D

The reason he wasn't in the MLB is simply due to a lack of space. The Yankees had a lot of players this season, and a lot of pitchers, most of whom have been in the majors for years, so the minor league call ups were the ones that had to be sacrificed to make space.

Hopefully, this should be sorted for the opening day 2006 versions. :)

Ultimate Rosters v 4.60 is now available

Here's what's new:

Updated with transactions through December 18th.

Grady Little named Manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Note: The CPU will tell you that the following teams don't have 10 fielders on their roster: Tacoma Rainiers (Sea-AAA), Binghampton Mets (NYM-AA) and Vero Beach Dodgers (LAD-A). This issue won't affect your gameplay and will be resolved in the next version of Ultimate Rosters.

ENJOY!

Question, Im been away from mvpmods about 5 months. Is there any other mods that I need to install to use this new version (cyberfaces, portraits, etc) or I can used with the original MVP files?

Thanks.

You can use it with the original files. I do however recommend you to download Hory's Total Portrait Series :)

A minor move:

The Blue Jays signed minor league free agent INF Luis Figueroa to a minor league contract with a spring training invite.. he won't make the big club but he'll become the everyday SS most likely at AAA Syracuse
