The Tigers made a commitment to their longest-tenured starting pitcher and position player Wednesday, signing left-hander Mike Maroth to a two-year contract worth $5.25 million and third baseman Brandon Inge to a one-year deal.

The Devil Rays went to the international market Wednesday to improve their bullpen and signed Shinji Mori to a two-year deal believed to be worth $1.5 million with a club option for another two years for an unspecified amount.

Angels shifting Erstad back to center

Move opens up first base for Kotchman; Figgins likely at third.

The Oakland A's today announced that they have agreed to terms with outfielder Milton Bradley and right-handed pitcher Kiko Calero on one-year contracts for the 2006 season.

fairly new to this site, just wanted to say thanks for all the time you guys put into this, mvp is one of my fav sports games ever, with no next yr to look forward to, the constant roster updates really help keep this game interesting. I cant wait for the next update, oh ya also being a mets fan i found a little more information on their top pick they signed, pelfrey, idk if you did him yet or not, i saw someone else mention it as well. His bio over here http://flushinghardball.com/viewScouting.php?id=34 in the little strengths and weaknesses tabs should provide some good insight into his game.

thanks again

If anyone needs scouting reports on draft picks or uncreated rookies for CAPS, I'd be happy to help look for good reports. I can't promise I'll find stuff for everyone, but I'll do my best.

I just want to help in any way to make these rosters the best out there.

Thanks to all who have done work on these so far!

draft picks would go to rookie ball not Single A or above, correct?

That sounds about right. I've added some 1st rounders inte the latest UR-rosters and Justin Upton for 5.0. They've all been assigned to their teams single A-ball team.

I know two of the Cubs draft picks last year played in a few A ball games the last few weeks of the season after they signed. I'm sure some other guys had some playing time in A as well before the season ended.

The Orioles appear to have reached a one-year agreement with Kevin Millar, adding another veteran bat to their lineup. The Associated Press reported Thursday that the deal is done, and a team source indicated that Millar was in town and undergoing a physical early in the afternoon.

UR 5.0 is about to be uploaded...

Here’s what’s new in this version:

•Transactions are up-to date as of January 13th (5 pm ET)

•Updated player statistics for all players with MLB Experience (including 2005 stats)

•Updated generic faces for several players.

•Updated ratings for several players.

•Updated batting stances and pitching deliveries for the KC Royals (Thanks to royals_fan_16)

•Plus the usual minor tweaks here and there to improve your gaming experience.

There are also 4 other versions available including cyberfaces and Uni's but what I said above is the base roster that's included in all the sets.

PLEASE SEE THE README.DOC BEFORE USING ANY OF THE FILES!!!

Excellent work Totte, thank you! Having the updated stats for 2005 will be very nice.

Kraw, how soon will be able to convert these rosters to XBOX for us? I have both PC and XBOX but tend to play on my XBOX more because I have a Hi-Def, big screen TV :)

I have a question about 2005 stats. After installing 5.0 I see using the Career Statistics menu each players 2005 stats. However, the Player Info window still shows their 2004 stats.

Is it not possible to get the latest stats in their info window, or do I need to do something else?

Thanks in advance.

that has to manually entered(from within MVPedit), I made a feature request with rglass to add it to MVPedit as an import option from lahman's DB. But I have heard nothing back on that

Hi Kraw. Ok, that sounds like too much work. It would be nice but it's not critical. Maybe we'll get an update to MVPedit someday.

Sorry to pester but any chance we'll get an XBOX conversion of 5.0 this weekend? Thank you.

It's possible but not easy. We'll see if rglass is able to implement something into MVPedit to make it easier (just as kraw said)
