bbythepier
chitown- Giant castoff K. Walker is in AAA (Charlotte) the other two, Tracey and Honel, good call. i don't see them in their system. to help fit them in, might give a bogus guy that they should be. for example: Charlotte (AAA)- Alfonso Martinez = Sean Tracy Ryan Franco = Kris Honel i don't speak for llcmac-hypnoxXx, but this might help when plugging them in. His fastball clocks near 94 MPH as the game begins, but he is one of those hurlers who gains velocity and later brings it at 97 MPH. With Harden mixing in a slider and a changeup, hitters find themselves overpowered, chasing the hard slider in the dirt or climbing the ladder for the fastball. The hitters who do make contact and fail are pretty well split between flyball outs and groundouts. He will need to work a little more on his control to reduce his walk total, but as a true power pitcher, Harden rounds out the Oakland rotation nicely. for halladay - nowhere in your links or in the source i used does it say knuckle-curve Halladay felt the fatigue in his shoulder affected his arm angle and arm speed before he went on the DL, which allowed opposing batters to tear into his cut fastball and a curve that starts at a righthander's shoulders and ends up at the knees over the outside black. The break on his curveball was nowhere near as sharp as in 2003, most likey a result of his shoulder woes. When healthy, Halladay throws a four-seam fastball that has late life and reaches the high 90s. In spring training, he experimented with a changeup that he can put in the back of the hitter's mind and possibly get a one-pitch out. He may add it to his arsenal, but for now, the Blue Jays simply want him to show that he's healthy eaton - im not even sure what you are trying to argue on this With a loose-armed, three-quarters delivery, Peavy delivers a fastball that ranges from 92-96 MPH. He also has a plus change, a two-plane slider and a curve he'll throw in any count. His changeup arguably is his best pitch. He's an intense competitor with great focus, and he rarely lets hitters escape with a mistake once he gets ahead
bbythepier
i practice cross checking between scouting reports. using one source for all your scouting reports can lead to inaccuracies. ALL OF THE QUOTES IN MY PREVIOUS POST WERE EXCERTS FROM THE ACTUAL ARTICLE, NOT MY WORDS. rich harden- on the link i posted, there was an article written on August 22, 2003 for ESPN Insider. look at the by line for the quote "Rich Harden uses his deadly splitter wisely." Not good enough, use this scouting report: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/story?id=1546304 halladay's knuckle-curve. hit this link and read the SCOUTING REPORT. http://www.tsn.ca/mlb/teams/player_bio.asp...amp;hubname=TOR Eaton: quote from EATON HIMSELF in this article. http://www.signonsandiego.com/uniontrib/20..._1s4padres.html "Reaching 96 mph on the radar gun and working with a "pretty good cutter," Eaton finished with 10 strikeouts" i APOLOGIZE to hypnoxXx-llcmac and other members. just be CAREFUL when using other MVP sites for their scouting reports. Schmidt's changeup and F. Francisco's splitter on page 35 of this thread "again". i posted these changes originally on page 14, 15 of this thread respectively (feel free to CHECK). to better make my case i posted again with DIFFERENT sources this time. i am thus very confident in my findings. that is all i ask. yes, i would rather be playing, but five extra minutes to make sure i'm correct is a benefit for all. lilfisch
I thought I read somewhere on here that someone was lookin to update player contracts. Is the updated contracts in the new 3.3 version? I have not downloaded it yet but was hoping they were. I just don't like the idea that Maggs (on the game) is a one year contract and a 4 or 5 year contract in real life. Just thought something has been done about this. By the way, GREAT JOB EVERYONE WHO HAS HELPED WITH THIS. I AM THANKFUL FOR EACH ONE OF YOU. Here is a link http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/teams/roster/CIN Whats bad though is, its LAST YEAR. So Adam Dunns arbitration isn't in here, he now makes 4.6 million. McCarroll21
Here is a website that has the payroll of every team in the AL and the East and Central in the NL. HypnoxXx
In version 3.5, I fixed many salaries. I forgot the website, but someone posted one a while back that had upto date salaries/contract status, and that's what I used. Feel free to browse 3.5 and see if the salaries look better to you guys. Also, if you haven't downloaded the most recent version of our rosters, then you're missing many changes. As for the disagreements that have been dominating the board lately, all I can say is yes, we are striving for accuracy and we appreciate all evidence. That extra mile of doing a little research really helps out...I must also say, no matter how hard we work, these will never be perfect. Taking pitch types, for example--Pitchers are CONSTANTLY retooling. Fiddling with a new pitch, giving up on that crappy pitch they just can't throw for strikes. What may be so and so's pitch set yesterday may not be his pitch set today. If you guys provide two different sources saying two different things, its ok! llcmac and I will decide what to use. Bottom line is I know that the majority of you support the work we're doing, and we also know you guys could easily go into mvpedit and tweak a rating or a pitch or two if we make a choice you don't approve of. So with that said, no more disagreements. I come here to read things helpful to our rosters like stats, CAP info and compliments that feed our egos

McCarroll21
Hey I just wanted do what I can to help out on this. I only have the xbox version so all I can do is give information for you to add. I was looking at http://www.topprospectalert.com/ at their prospect list and decided to go through the game and see who was missing. Of the top 20 catcher prospects these are missing...There's height, weight, birthdate, bats, throws, stats, pictures and a scouting report if available for all the players below. If you've already created these people I guess you can use the information to double check..or just another cross reference. If this information helped let me know and I'll do their top 100 infield and outfield later. I've already started on them and will try to finish it up later tonight or tomorrow. Just trying to get the rosters as accurate as possible with the top prospects out there. 20 Best Prospects at Catcher (Missing) Kurt Suzuki (21) -- Oakland Athletics Catcher 6-0 200 R/R Born: Oct. 4, 1983 Pictures: http://sports.fullerton.edu/images/2003-04...ball/suzuki.jpg http://www.sportshigh.com/attachment/C0386...00/Suzuki-3.jpg http://www.sportshigh.com/attachment/C0386...lertn_throw.jpg Stats: http://www.sports-wired.com/players/profile.asp?ID=35652 Suzuki has become one of the hot names in the draft this year. He's a solid defender and has really stepped it up with the bat, especially the last 3-4 weeks in Big West play. He's come a long way in all areas after being a walk-on as a freshman. Curtis Thigpen (21) -- Toronto Blue Jays 5-11 190 R/R Born: 1983-04-19 Pictures: http://forney.ednet10.net/prod_site/specia...tis_thigpen.jpg Stats: http://www.sports-wired.com/players/profile.asp?Name=DFIDA COMMENT: medium frame. Sloping shoulders. Well defined, lean, muscular, athletic build. Body type similar to brad ausmus. Balanced stance w/ proper hitting approach. Line drive stroke w/ hand quickness. Uses whole field. Athletic, agile behind plate. Playable hands. Runs well for catcher. Likes to play. Aggressive. Solid make-up. Player w/ bat potential. Also seen at 1B. Brandon Yarbrough (20) -- St. Louis Cardinals Position: C Height: 6-2 Weight: 175 Bats: L Throws: R Yarbrough gets the bat head through the hitting zone so fast. The kid has a great swing. He has tremendous bat-speed and could be labeled the best left-handed hitter in the Carolinas. With the departure of Daric Barton, Yarbrough becomes the Cardinals top catching prospect. With Yadier Molina set to take the spot for a long time, Yarbrough may face the same problem Barton had, be traded or change positions. The 20-year-old left handed hitting catcher performed very well at Johnson City, hitting .326, slugging .497, with 6 HR, 35 RBI, and a 25/55 BB/K ratio. Brandon is an athletic ballplayer, so a change in position might not be as hard a transition as some may think. Jeff Mathis – Anaheim Angels (You have Mathias) Phil Avlas (22) -- Arizona Diamondbacks Info and Stats: http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/phil_avlas.shtml Picture: http://www.silverhawks.com/mediaguide/images/mugs/Avlas.jpg Catcher who has a chance to develop gap power. Med. athletic frame with little muscle. Immature build. Hands tight near body. Slightly open, preloaded swing. Line drive stroke. Well below avg batspeed and strength. Is beginning to grow into his smooth swing as he is starting to hit with more consistency. Line drive stroke could produce a solid average but I can't see more than 5-8 HR per year in the big leagues at best. Defensively he has good hands and moves with ease behind the plate. Gets around and underneath pitches well. Arm strength is below average . Release is lightning quick and makes up for arm. Accuracy solid. While he shows a reliable approach and swing he doesn't project to have big league strength or bs and his success with the bat is the only success he has had to date. Right now he looks like a good 4A player who may see some big league time in a backup role. bbythepier
sweet site on salaries, McCarroll. as for being the culprit of the "disagreements" to which the developers of this thread spoke, i again apologize. i knew it would be looked upon with disgust.i felt i couldn't let one unsourced thread change practically every marquee pitcher in the game, but i let my enthusiasm get the best of me. I WAS WRONG, and my future posts will be made in a positive effort. thanks again to all. (i will make any pitchers' tweaks to my rosters, as suggested.)
