Josh Hancock was released Saturday by the Cincinnati Reds a day into spring training after the right-hander reported to camp overweight.

The Cleveland Indians traded infielder Andy Tracy to the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday for a player to be named.

I'm having problems getting the PS2 rosters to work.

Yes I have been converting them for a year now, either I've suddenly became dumb or something in the UR rosters is now incompatable with the PS2.

I have not gave up hope just yet

sorry if this has been answered in here somewhere, 371 pages and I didn't come across the answer but I could have easily missed it since I was skimming quickly, I'll post my question here as I did in the other thread

______________

hey guys, great to see a project like this in the works ... makes me stop and think that MVP is still alive and well and though I have no time for roster modding at the present it gives me a smile and a chance to play some ball ... looks like awesome work ... one trouble I came across though:

I can't get the .dat files to load into MVPedit with rglass's latest release ... I sent him an email and haven't heard back yet ... is it just me, or is this a known issue?

I get a runtime 53 error when trying to import the files ... I'd love to play with them but want to tweak a few things on my beloved M's ... just can't get it to import right?

jackcasper...I think it may have something to do with the patch that you are running. For some reason I had the EA roster update #3 as my latest and everything seemed fine (I never bothered installing patch #4 or #5 since I don't play on line). I belive there is something you had to do differently if you had patch #4 or #5 installed, but I also believe Kraw may have come up with the fix for that?

I'll do some digging to try and remember how I got it to work.

I don't think that's my issue ... I did a fresh instal, loaded the Livin' Large edition ... then tried to import the files into MVPedit ... no dice

didn't ever patch it, since all the files should be patched over by the LL update if my memory serves

If anyone needs any scouting reports for prospects PM me and I will do my best to find them. I had good luck with a ton of Cubs ones and might be able to find other teams guys.

i posted this originaly in the Mod Request forum, but someone said that this should be posted here so here it goes:

"i´ve been seeing that in ALL the rosters on this page, the swing of some of the players are incorrect, for example, in UR 5.1 Manny Ramirez´s swing is wrong, in real life he ends up one handed, and in the roster he ends up two handed, same with Robinson Canó and several other players.

someone needs to do something about it. UR crew take this into serious consideration.

thanks"

Start by listing all the players that are wrong and suggest a change.

A great magazine that I just picked up is Sporting News Baseball 2006. It has scouting reports for every projected line-up and pitching rotation plus the closer.

On each hitter it breaks down their offense, defense, and gives an overall rating on a 10 system.

On each pitcher it tells what they throw, their velocity and a brief write-up.

For example a brief excerpt:

First person I saw when I opened it Derek Lowe

"Primarily throws a sinking fastball at 89-93 mph, but also has a curve at 78-80 mph and a slider at 84-87 mph."

Then it goes on to tell his tendencies, and his outlook on this season followed by a grade of 7.9

The book is a little early for many of the moves that have taken place but is excellent if you just want to adjust players ratings.

but you do know how to change swing types right? because i dont wanna make a big list and then find out that it cannot be changed...

I know it can be done with the magic of MVPedit but there are several swing types to chose from and I'm not certain how they all look.
