Dodgers updates:

There have been some position changes in Dodgers camp this spring. In addition to Guzman moving to the outfield, Delwyn Young moves from second base to left field, Blake DeWitt from third base to second base, and Travis Denker from second base to third.

Also, Matt Kemp has a fantastic arm that's not represented in the game. Everyone is raving about the cannon in CF.

Thanks.

by the way:

what about the catcher position?

navarro just plays ugley this spring (.063 avg), and martin hits the ball very good (.368 avg).

because i think navarro is starting tje season in the minors. so should there be any ajustmens?

the other fact why this is interisting to me, is because of fantasy baseball. i draftet navarro in the last round, because i thought he would be the most suprising catcher in this season.

sry, a little bit of topic :oops:

Navarro hurt his hamstring the other day, and is expected to be out 10-14 days. This may effect his chances at being the starter. The team doesn't seemed concerned with Navarro's poor spring average, though, so if he's healthy, it is still most likely he will be the starter. He has shown he can hit decently in the majors, and he has the most familiarity with the pitching staff.

Yah, spring always means nothing (Dodger fans will remember Scott Erickson's stellar spring). I assume that Navarro will still be starting Opening Day. He's a good pickup in the last round of a draft, IMO.

Hey Totte, just wondering what is the latest release of UR, and when is the next release going to be? I installed MVP06 and Weaver is still an FA etc.

Thanks, keep up the great work. :D

The latest rosters is a standard edition (no cyberfaces) called UR 5.2. The next release (5.3) will probably come around Wednesday-Thursday next week. After that, Opening Day rosters :D

Can you update the pitches for Marlins (and former Cub) AA pitcher Ricky Nolasco - he may make the 25-man roster to open the season, if not he'll be in AAA

according to this article http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/basebal...-sports-marlins

At 23, Nolasco exhibits exceptional command. His low 90s fastball isn't overpowering, but he spots it impeccably. Factor in an outstanding curveball that Nolasco isn't afraid to throw in any count and that 3.2 to 1 strikeout-to-walk ratio in five pro seasons isn't difficult to explain......

Nolasco credits his success last season to making better use of his change-up and picking up a sinking fastball.

Also Seattle pitcher Jeff Heaverlo was released by the organisation

I really love the rosters, but I have two questions. How come Kyle Farnsworth, and Derrick Turnbow have such low ratings. They both had great years in 2005. Other than that, prehaps the rosters are the best on the net.

Hey Totte, great work man. I have a suggestion that I think I can justify. I haven't read through all of this 400-page thread, so if this stuff has been suggested before, I apologize. :)

I don't have the game yet but I found out your Robinson Cano ratings were pretty low IMO. No hitting ratings in the 70's or 80's is kinda rough I think.

He hit .297 with decent pop in his bat (14 HRs and wasnt called up until several games into the season).

He hit .307 vs RHP and .270 vs LHP. This should warrant an increase in contact from both sides of the plate IMO. He didn't show much power against LHP hitting only 2 HR's, but 12 HR's came against RHP in less than a full season of AB's.

Just giving you some stuff to look into, if it hasn't already been done :)

Thanks for all your hard work man, really appreciate it.

IMO, cano's ratings are right where they should be. remember, he was a rookie last year. you dont want to make him too good because there is always the chance of a sophmore slump. if he puts up numbers like he did last season or even better, then we could make him hella good.

A few notes on the Tigers

Detroit optioned right-handers Eulogio De La Cruz, Preston Larrison, Humberto Sanchez and Jordan Tata, infielders Tony Giarratano and Kody Kirkland and outfielder Brent Clevlen to Double-A Erie.

The Tigers also assigned right-handers Tim Crabtree and Colby Lewis, catchers Mike Rabelo and Danilo Sanchez and infielder Kevin Hooper to Minor League camp.

They have also released Mantei

Other notes about the Tigs

Higginson - last year was the final year of his contract he was not brought back, it wouldn't be a big deal execpt that his 11 million dollar contract is burdensome in Dynasty Mode.

Percival - for all intensive purposes has retired as he left Camp like a week into it and will probably never pitch again.

Players to Create with a decent scouting report on them

Danilo Sanchez - http://www.tigerscentral.com/players.php?pnum=6893

Jordan Tata - http://www.tigerscentral.com/players.php?pnum=35747

Cameron Maybin - No idea why it's on a Brewers site, but he's a Tiger

http://www.brewerfan.net/ViewAmateurPlayer...d=318&draftId=3

Tim Crabtree - http://www.tigerscentral.com/players.php?pnum=815

Jeffrey Larish - http://www.answers.com/topic/jeff-larish - this report is very skimpy, but it's what I could find

Other than that the Tigs roster is shaping up nicely. Great work.

You guys have to realize that you can't base someone's attributes on one year alone. He wasn't all that spectacular as a minor league player and he is coming off a solid season. Wait to see how he does this year before increasing his numbers significantly.

Yea I understand that, cool.

Just thought I'd make my case for him, I got the Yanks in an online league with progression and would have loved for him to start out good already, lol :)

Brad Lidge added a split finger to his repertoire. I don't know how fast or how much movement, but since he just added it I can't imagine it would be devastating.

Phil Dumatrait (Reds) is left-handed, bats right, has 80mph curve, 90mph~ 2 seamer, 80mph change.

Royals movements:

Mike Aviles - High Desert -> Omaha, SS -> 3B

"Aviles, 25, played 102 games at shortstop last season for Wichita and batted .280 with 14 home runs and 80 RBIs. That represented a significant power increase over the six homers and 69 RBIs he had in a .300 season in 2004 for Class A Wilmington."

"He can really hit a fastball," said Shaun McGinn, Royals senior director of Minor League operations. "He had big numbers and that comes with understanding the strike zone."

But, after making 41 errors last season, the Royals decided his offensive skills suited him better at third base.

Scott Walter - Omaha -> retired

Mike Stodolka - Wichita SP -> 1B

Billy Butler - High Desert -> Wichita

"Center fielder Joe Dickerson, a fourth-round pick last year, followed through on the Royals' suggestions to make adjustments over the winter. A 19-year-old left-handed hitter, Dickerson hit .294 and had 40 RBIs and four homers in 56 games for rookie level Arizona." - Can be added to High Desert to replace Billy Butler. I'll see if I can find a scouting report on him.

Number changes:

Paul Bako - 18 -> 6

John Buck - 2 -> 14

Shane Costa - 22 -> 32

Elmer Dessens - 46 -> 47

Scott Elarton - 39 -> 37

Mark Grudzielanek - 12 -> 15

Joe Mays - 25 -> 22

Doug Mientkiewicz - 11 -> 16

Mark Redman - 55 -> 21

Joe McEwing - 11 -> 8

More to come.
