Dkknight
Hey llmac and hypno, just wanted to comment that John Franco seems to be a corrupt player in the game. You might want to check it out. HypnoxXx
Hey llmac and hypno, just wanted to comment that John Franco seems to be a corrupt player in the game. You might want to check it out. I've tried recreating the player but I get the same result. Must be the name John Franco, who knows. This was fixed a long time ago, do you have the latest version? The problem is John Franco's face--he no longer has his own cyberface. When we first imported him from 2004, he was still linked to that face. We have since changed him to a generic face. MikeB
Your last update changed Roy Halladay's arsenal. How come you guys changed Roy Halladay's stuff? I thought EA was pretty accurate with it. I don't know why you guys say he has a knucklecurve.
HypnoxXx
bby, thanks a TON for these fakie replacements, I just made a list last night of the remaining fakes in AAA and noticed the large amounts left (including 11 in Sacramento and 14 in Scranton/WB--yikes!)...Is there any site where you're finding upto date minor league rosters? Every place I look just has the 2004 rosters and nothing that says "Hey, these guys are still here"...

bbythepier
Hyp- i can't find an "complete Minor league" site (yet, until season starts). I just find them individually, from reaasignment by the team to 'sleuthing' at their particular slot (AAA,AA,A). Thankfully, my head sort of guides me for now. I'm trying to stay close to home, in the NL West, for now. I'll help on Sac-town next with one big post (or email from above). MikeB- I didn't suggest any changes on Halladay's abilities, except for the knucklecurve. Taken directly from the main Canadian Sports Site, TSN. http://www.tsn.ca/mlb/teams/player_bio.asp...amp;hubname=TOR (see scouting report in middle of page. correct me if i'm wrong, please)
MikeB
Yeah, but it's not a knucklecurve. Look how he holds it.
HypnoxXx
bby, I don't have the BA prospect handbook, so if you could give me the main points of players (esp. pitches that the pitchers throw) that'd be nice... On Halladay...the majority of sites says a simple curveball, only 2 or 3 about it being a knucklecurve, so I changed it back. I also changed the palmball to a changeup, as I saw NOTHING about a palmball anywhere, but several sites talking about Halladay adding a changeup to his arsenal. MikeB
Yeah, I forgot about the palmball. I never use his because he doesn't have one. Will the curveball move back to his 1 pitch and the changeup go to where the palmball was (pitch 5)?
HypnoxXx
Don't be silly Jabroni, but thanks for making sure Mike--Yes Curve goes back to #1 (well technically, fastball is always #1, but you get the point)...and Change replaces palmball as #5 For reference, the eight AAA teams that are currently 100% fakie free: Iowa, Fresno, Salt Lake, Tacoma, Norfolk, New Orleans, Louisville and Oklahoma. bbythepier
I always defer to 'Mounties' on Canadian players. Just go by what i read until corrected. No harm, no foul. As long as it has that 12-6, 'power' break, the rest is splitting hairs. (MikeB- i don't have a picture of Halladay's grip on the curve. I do have a picture of how J. Schmidt and N. Lowry hold their changeup, but...) Hyp- F. Osoria (p.252) "3/4 arm slot...88-92 mph sinker w/ late movement...arm slot prevents him from getting on top of a breaking ball. He needs to improve a second offspeed offering...low 80's slider starts at right-hander's hip and runs across plate, but it's inconsistent." (10-4 mvmt, 'slurvish') interesting fact: has 6 fingers on right (throwing) hand, no joke. Also, goes to Sammy Sosa's school. houston34
MLB Transactions - 3/21/2005 Previous Transactions Colorado Rockies Choo Freeman - Outfielder Rockies optioned OF Choo Freeman and 1B Ryan Shealy to Triple-A Colorado Springs; reassigned RHP Scott Chiasson, RHP Tim Drew and C Tom Wilson to minor league camp. Freeman impressed at the very start of camp in his bid to win a reserve job, but his average fell to .160 (4-for-25). If he's ever going to turn into anything, he's probably better off playing regularly in Triple-A. The Rockies will choose a fifth outfielder from the group of Jorge Piedra, Cory Sullivan and Reggie Taylor. Detroit Tigers Chris Spurling - Relief Pitcher Tigers optioned RHP Chris Spurling to Triple-A Toledo and reassigned RHP Craig Dingman and RHP Sean Douglass to minor league camp. Spurling, returning from Tommy John surgery, had allowed one run in five innings, but he has options remaining and some of his competitiors didn't. He'll be back. Houston Astros Carlos Hernandez - Starting Pitcher Astros optioned LHP Carlos Hernandez to Triple-A Round Rock. Hernandez had one good outing in an intrasquad game, but he had a 7.88 ERA and a 3/7 K/BB ratio in eight innings in 'A' games. His stuff will probably never come all the way back after shoulder surgery, so he might end up in the pen. Turk Wendell - Relief Pitcher Astros reassigned RHP Turk Wendell and OF Charles Gipson to minor league camp. This might be it for Wendell. The 37-year-old had given up eight runs in 6 2/3 innings. New York Yankees Homer Bush - Second Baseman Yankees released second baseman Homer Bush. Bush requested the move. He plans to catch on with a team with less infield depth, not that that should allow him to begin the season in the majors. He was 2-for-8 this spring. San Diego Padres Danny Patterson - Relief Pitcher Padres reassigned RHP Danny Patterson and RHP Marty McLeary to Triple-A Portland. Patterson had allowed four runs in six innings. The veteran might still be a capable 12th pitcher, but that's probably all he is, and the Padres are better off keeping Blaine Neal. San Francisco Giants Matt Kinney - Relief Pitcher Giants reassigned RHP Matt Kinney and RHP Jeremy Fikac to minor league camp. Kinney's chances of winning a job ended when he gave up homers to three straight batters in a game against the Royals. Fikac had a nice 6/0 K/BB ratio, but he still gave up three runs in 4 2/4 innings. Brad Hennessey - Starting Pitcher Giants optioned RHP Brad Hennessey and OF Todd Linden to Triple-A Fresno. Hennessey is supposed to be seventh on the Giants' SP depth chart, but he was shaky in two appearances, walking five in 2 2/3 innings. Linder failed to take advantage of Barry Bonds' injury, going 7-for-38 with a 9/1 K/BB ratio. Toronto Blue Jays Mike Nannini - Starting Pitcher Blue Jays reassigned RHP Mike Nannini, LHP Jesse Carlson and RHP Spike Lundberg to minor league camp. None of the three had pitched more than two innings this spring. Lundberg probably has the best chance of seeing time in the Toronto pen this year. Washington Nationals Brendan Harris - Second Baseman Nationals optioned 3B-2B Brendan Harris to Triple-A New Orleans and reassigned RHP Hector Carrasco and 1B-3B George Arias to minor league camp Harris should be the Nationals' top option at third and second should injuries strike Vinny Castilla or Jose Vidro. He hit .345 and walked seven times in 29 at-bats this spring. Arias, back from Japan, was 5-for-19.
houston34
Sorry for so many post but can you put these astros that are not in the game in the next update. http://fantasybaseball.rotoworld.com/conte...amp;majteam=HOU
bbythepier
Houston34, We have a problem! Sorry, i just wanted to say that. Houston, every team has all their minor leaguers with them in camp. When a player is "re-assigned", this does not mean he goes directly to AAA. A person (like HypnoxXx or myself) must use clues like a player's past and progression or quotes from the organization to determine what level he will be sent to once camp breaks. Every 40 man roster (like the ones you named), will be cut to 25 as of April 3. Thus 15 players get sent all over a team's system. It's not exact to "guess" where each player will go, but it can be done "fairly well". Otherwise we'd have to wait until April 3, when rosters are determined to begin making changes. This puts Hyp and other roster makers behind by 2-3 weeks if done this way. Just tyring to explain what HypnoxXx and llcmac (and myself) are getting at. Las Vegas AAA- Andy Smith (fake) = Ryan Ketchner LHP (SP) stats: http://cbs.sportsline.com/mlb/players/playerpage/533306 scouting: "The scouting report on Ryan was pretty right on," said Honeycutt. "Below-average fastball, good command, good changeup, okay breaking ball, good competitor, hearing impaired. We got him, we got to know him and fell in love with the guy." http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/news/mlb...s&fext=.jsp Brandon Lawrence (fake) = Jason Repko - OF Specs & pic: http://losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com/NASApp/m...layer_id=434705 Scouting (BA Prospect, p.253): “…org’s best defensive outfielder…moved to CF from SS in ’02…above average speed and plus-arm strength…unorthodox, open stance w/ hands low…good hand-eye coordination and shows enough bat speed to drill the ball to all parts of park…slated to start 2005 in AAA…but injury away from callup.†Kenzo Suzuki (fake) = Jon Weber - OF http://cbs.sportsline.com/mlb/players/playerpage/541796 No other info: average journeyman AAA outfielder Rafael Molina (fake) = Derek Thompson LHP (RP) specs & pic: http://losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com/NASApp/m...layer_id=425663 scouting : none current Why AAA? Note taken from rotowire: “March 4, 2005- Left-hander Derek Thompson allowed an unearned run and one hit in two innings of relief today. Thompson is easy to overlook in such a deep Dodger farm system, but he has a chance to be a pretty good multi-inning reliever, perhaps as soon as this year. The Dodgers should give him a look if Wilson Alvarez goes down.†http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpag...um=&id=7083 Some scouting on Willie Aybar (previous post) from BA Prospect p. 251: “…good hands and above average arm, but his range is average to slightly below, stiff around the bag…best tool is his bat…bats both…makes good contact and drives ball…uses the whole field… gets pull-conscious and chases fastballs up when behind…spend most of 2005 in AAA.†That takes care of fakes on Vegas. Opening roster should resemble it after these changes. Next: Padres
HypnoxXx
Ahhh nothing like splitting hairs with the biggest asset of info submission--You missed Ty Tucker on Vegas, bby We still have to make Henri Stanley though, so that'll take care of that... As for San Diego, I have 4 guys in mind for creation: Corey Smith, Brad Baker, Chris Oxspring and J.J. Furmaniak and by my count there are 5 fakes left on Portland. Complete AAA teams are now upto 8, I just finished off Tucson.
