cybernetic
How do I avoid the all-stars being doubled in the free agent pool? The last 3 times I started a new dynasty these Angels were in the free agent pool doubled: Vladimir Guerrero Bartolo Colon Garret Anderson
Totte
Can I request that you allow us to edit all the players in the minor and major leagues? Some of the players (for example, Victor Diaz, Phillip Humber - for the Mets), when you try to edit them, the game crashes. Thanks for all the hard work you guys are putting in to this! I won't allow you to edit anything. Tell me what you want changed and I'll fix it. E-mail me at totte@mvpmods.com

Totte
so 60 day DL = minors? In some cases yeah but I want the guy to be out for the season if I'm supposed to send him to the minors. Take Shinji Mori for example, he's down in TB single-A. Juan Padilla of the Mets is out with Tommy John surgery and is down in the minors too. kgbaseball
cybernetic, you must've messed around with the All-Star teams. Search around for a tutorial by krawhitham. It'll tell you how to fix everything.
cybernetic
I didn't touch the all-star teams.. anyway.. I edited the doubles to have 0 ability so they won't get signed. I tweaked the Jays and made a couple recent trades is all I did.
kgbaseball
Interesting, I've never heard of this problem without touching All Star teams. Try this: open up your attrib.dat and see how many Colon's, Guerrero's, etc there are. Once you do that, PM me the result. I don't weant to take up space in this thread. cybernetic
4 Colons (2 Bartolo), 4 Guerreros (2 Vladimir), 12 Andersons (2 Garret). The good news is the only free agent signings so far are Rey Ordonez and Damian Moss.. none of them have been signed yet. I did **** with the Angels roster so maybe that's why they doubled.. I don't know.
kgbaseball
And are Colon, Guerrero, and Anderson on your roster's All Star teams?
cybernetic
Yeah all 3 are on the AL All-Star team
MarkB
hey MarkB Hidalgo is in the Yankees Organization? Hidalgo was released before getting out of extended spring training last month.
kgbaseball
ok I know the fix, but I'm not confident enough that I can explain it to you. Basically you should only have 1 of each player in the attrib.dat file. You have to find the one that's unecessary and delete it. Unless you want to ask around to people that are brilliant with the .dat files, you did the next best thing by giving them awful abilities. I believe if you took a look at Kraw's tutorial for creating All Star teams you'd have your fix.
cybernetic
OK I'm trying that now. I'll let you know how it goes.. I've just deleted them from it and I'm going to re-import now. EDIT: Now there's 3 players with no names and listed as SP's in the bottom of the free agent pool. Also the game crashes to the desktop if I try to edit any free agents (which I really won't do). Anyway that's it for me tonight, I'm off to bed.. I don't think it will really effect my dynasty if nobody can sign them anyway. When you click on them it doesn't do anything. Totte
I'm just wondering if Chris Jones is in the latest UR. I have a scouting report for the 22 Year Older. He plays for Red Sox's. Single A. Was drafted in 2005, but has been pitching very good. 29th rounder. Low 90s fastball tops out at 94. Also throws a 12-6 curveball which sits in the high 70s, and a good circle change. Now that Serrano and Nye have been released from Pawtucket, I'll add Chris Jones.
tejdog1
I meant during game play, like you can with the original game. For example, if you've got Victor Diaz with 64 contact vs lefties, and I want to up it to 70, stuff like that.
JoeyMcM93
So the game crashes when you edit in-game?

Do you want to edit the players inside the actual game (from the menus>Edit player) or do you want it to be edited using MVPedit?

cybernetic
So the game crashes when you edit in-game? Yeah but only if I try to edit free agents. I'm gonna fix the all-star teams and restart the dynasty anyway.
aaronuconn
I was wondering if Michael Bowden...SP was in the upcoming UR. I fnot, since I have a xbox, and the latest I have is 6.3, heres a scouting on him... Bowden has an arsenal of four MLB caliber pitches: a low-90s fastball which tops out at 95, a 12-6 hard breaking curve, a tight slider, and a plus circle changeup. aaronuconn
Same with Michael Rozier... Big athletic lefty with control of three pitches. Fastball tops out in the low 90s, with decent movement. Curveball is smooth, and changeup is deceptive and controlled. A groundball pitcher. Known to have a good pick-off move.
JoeyMcM93
I know something has happened before that had to do with cyberfaces. I'm clueless cybernetic. I have had it happen before, but only once where it crashes in the Edit Player section of the game. It was in a dynasty when it happened to me, but honestly, I know what the problem is, but have no idea how to fix it. Sorry man.
aaronuconn
Last one Totte... Felix Doubront October 23, 1987. Doubront utilizes a high 80s fastball that tops out at 93, with average breaking pitches which have steadily improved in short time. So.. FB Control: 59 Velocity: 93 CB Control: 57 Movement: 60 Velocity: 77 Slider Control: 58 Movement: 50 Velocity: 84 These are just rough estimates.. Oh ya, 4 Stars too. cybernetic
I found out what happened.. it was because I imported the team roster (including all-star team players) so it edited their info in roster.dat and created two of them. I repaired the rosters and it should be fine now. I started a new dynasty with no duplicates.
aaronuconn
All those players by the way are on the redsox. All in Single A, or lower, but their good prospects.
