Houston34-

For instance, a quick look at Round Rock, a player like Erik Zambrano stands out (english proper name, hispanic surname). He's fake. The reassignments you said happened recently above (C. Hernandez, T. Wendell, C. Gipson) are for players already created. Thus someone else is the real "E. Zambrano" and it may be a player who was not on the 40 man roster. It may take a little looking to see if it's a Rule V guy or prospect coming back from injury or something else. I hope this helps.

Las Vegas is now done...NINE AAA Teams done! Yippee! jb, not sure when I'll release a new update, the way bby is helping with these AAA teams, I may wait until all 30 AAA are 100% real.

Fakes I have on Portland

1) Len Maynard

2) Chris Mench

3)Wilfred Perez

4) Andres Smith

5) Jimmy Wells

"Reals" you have:

1) Corey Smith

2) Brad Baker

3) Chris Oxspring

4) J.J. Furmaniak

One more possible:

Ben Johnson – [RF,CF]

Specs and Pics: http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/team/player....layer_id=434584

Scouting (BA p.392): “…excellent athlete with plus power and a plus arm. ..he’s still an above-average runner who can hold his own in CF, though he’s better suited to RF…good feel for the strike zone, but still has all-or-nothing swing…He’ll begin the season at AAA, looking to prove his breakout campaign was no fluke.â€

I have been doing rosters since sega for baseball and football games so I know alot about doing them but dont have alot of time to invest in them anymore but am willing to give knowledge to help this project come togeather alot better.Alot of teams have changed true but I know the astros pretty damn good since thats muy team and i am from houston and even funnier than that my name is really houston...LOL

So if needed I can help with most of the teams or do some research for you guys.I know alot of good sites to get some info and I can go out and buy a prospect book or some baseball mags for this upcoming year to give you some more info.

Houston-

On behalf of myself, thanks for your help. I don't doubt yours or others expertise with rosters. Please don't get the impression there are any "smarty pants" in this thread. I and others are just small fish in a llcmac-HypnoxXx pond. If you got it, post it. But as with any project there are "deadlines and directions", and I was trying to help with THEIR direction on this project (not mine).

Hyp-

let me know if you have 'stuff' on the "reals" above. If they're all imports from last year, no worries. (There are some blurbs about them in the BA Prospect).

OK, Houston34, you got my attention. Here goes my assistance on Round Rock (AAA). Your AA and A will have to wait until next round, at least from me. (Even my Giants are decent up to only AAA).

Fakes

1) Giovanni Bocachica-SS

2) Franklin Cueto-3B

3) Mark Hubbard-C

4) Jim Johnson-1B

5) Manny Mendez-SS

6) Glen Nelson-RP

7) Jesus Perez-3B

8) Austin Spencer-RF

9) Rick Wendell-RP

10) Jeremy Wilson-2B

11) Eric Zambrano-RP

“Realsâ€

1) Hector Gimenez-C [official option 3-15-05]

Specs & pic: http://houston.astros.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/t...layer_id=430591

Scouting: “…While he has some pop, he has little feel for the strike zone and BA has consistently declined…consistently has performed better from his natural right side. Defensively has all the tools…strong arm..moves well behind the plate…durable frame…speed is below-average.

2) Taylor Buchholz-SP (bring up from AA) [official option 3-15-05]

3) Tommy Whitemen-SS

Spec & pic: http://houston.astros.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/t...layer_id=425534

Scouting: “…He hit a career high .320 in 2004 and has good gap power…average runner, hemoves well and has a strong arm and sure hands at SS…long swing…tends to chase high pitches..He’ll play every day atAAA.â€

4) Luke Scott-LF,RF

Spec & pic: http://roundrockexpress.com/team/?id=620

Scouting: “…lefthanded power is best tool…must do better job of using the whole field and dealing w/ breaking pitches. His speed and arm are below-average.. better fit in LF than RF..â€

5) Jared Gothreaux-SP

Specs & pic: http://houston.astros.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/t...layer_id=434640

Scouting: “…88-92 mph fastball…decent changeup…throws strikes but can work in zone too often…doesn’t have a true put-away pitch…remain a starter in AAA for nowâ€

In his own words: "I think I threw six or seven sliders," Gothreaux said. "It was mainly fastball. I changed speeds with it a lot and I was throwing for strikes. Not only for strikes, but I was throwing them to a spot.â€

6) Brooks Conrad-2B

Specs & pic: http://roundrockexpress.com/team/?id=607

Scouting: Does this sound like Eckstein? “…not pretty but finds a way to get job done…switch-hitter…surprising pop for his size…average speed and good instincts on the bases. Defensively, he won’t always sho the best reads or footwork, ut he has sure hands and makes plays…AAA only remaining hurdle…â€

7) Todd Self-1B, RF

Specs & pic: http://roundrockexpress.com/team/?id=609

Scouting: “…Managers rated his strike-zone discipline the best in Texas league…topped .300 for fourth consecutive season…just 33 homers in 5 years…broke in as outfielder and has arm strength to play right field. But his speed, range and routes are below-average…He’ll move up to AAA in ‘05â€

8) Charlton Jimerson-CF [official option 3-17-05]

Specs & pic: http://houston.astros.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/t...layer_id=430590

Scouting:

Q: Tom from Houston asks:

How high do you think C. Jimerson's ceiling is? Thanks

A: Jim Callis: Charlton Jimerson is a wonderful athlete and an inspiring story, and he may have the highest ceiling of any hitter in the system. But he just hasn't shown any signs that he's going to be able to make consistent contact or hit enough to do anything in the majors.

Taken from: http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/chat/050131jc.html

9) Wandy Rodriguez-LHP (RP)

Specs & pic: http://houston.astros.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/t...layer_id=434643

Scouting: no idea

Also: Bring down Carlos Hernandez [official option 3-19-05]

Could bring up B. Duckworth to fill void

Give me ‘til tonight to find two more AAA probables (to bring roster to 25)

Man, my heads always spinning when I get up and see the new posts since I went to bed...Bby, I think I'm going to make a list of the fakes and who I have in mind to make...I've imported a TON since 3.5, so our fakes probably don't always add up. Plus I had to do some fake for real switching today with Tyler Johnson being returned to St. Louis from Oakland and Joey Gathright being traded from the Rays to the Jays...

please dont take Barry Bonds out of the updated roster.

it looks like he will miss the whole season he said today.

just will seem weird not seeing him on the mvp 2005 updated roster.

I screwed up my speedy prospects who begin with the letter "G" lol...

The Blue Jays got Tyrell Godwin from Washington, NOT Joey Gathright from the DRays. Oops.

you're right, i'm working w/ your last 3.5, so any imports you made may skew the "fakies". Please note the ones i listed for Round Rock are officially optioned or borderline guys on the 40 man who the club will want to keep "a bus ride away" in case of a callup. I guess just use for cross-reference. (I don't have to remind you AAA rosters are fluid, and some major leaguers will be optioned after poor springs, or vice versa). I'm dishing out the info as I change my rosters, so any overlap I apologize.

My next post on Sactown will similarly consist of "99% sure" AAA guys based on club options, club statements, player progression and Baseball America projections.

Rule V is starting to royally **** me off....this is what I got from ESPN.com

Oakland Athletics Returned pitcher Tyler Johnson, who was selected in the Rule V draft, to the St. Louis Cardinals.

Toronto Blue Jays Acquired pitcher Aaron Wideman from the Washington Nationals for outfielder Tyrell Godwin.
