Houston...I mentioned this at least once earlier, but here it is for you again...

Mark S. McLemore, born 10/9/80 is a rookie pitcher and is in the Astros organization. He was not in the EA roster for MVP 2005. We have created him.

Mark T. McLemore, born 10/4/64, is a super utilityman who played for the A's last year, but is now retired. He was originally in the EA roster for MVP 2005. We have deleted him.

Minor trade here...

"Red Sox acquire right-hander Blaine Neal from San Diego Padres"

http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/ne...sp&c_id=bos

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Boston Red Sox today acquired right-handed pitcher Blaine Neal from the San Diego Padres in exchange for outfielder Adam Hyzdu. Senior Vice President/General Manager Theo Epstein made the announcement from the club's Spring Training camp in Fort Myers.

To the Guy that said the Cardinals don't want Tyler Johnson, that's just nuts. If the A's were keeping him, they wouldn't have returned him. they would have just sent another player to the cards. Like Washington did to keep Godwin today

I'm still royally confused on the whole Tyrell Godwin transaction. I've got everyone here plus CNNSI and CBS Sportsline saying that the Nationals traded that rookie pitcher for Godwin and I have ESPN saying that the Nationals traded Godwin for the rookie pitcher. What I dont get is the wording...Why say traded so and so in exchange for Godwin---when he's already there? Wouldn't it make sense to say something along the lines of "in exchange for keeping Godwin"? The fact I have no article or wire news on the transaction doesn't help either, so as soon as someone finds an actual story on this deal, please post a link so I can make the appropriate changes.

Hyp-

No idea on the Godwin deal, but your wording is on the right track. I'll keep my @@'s open, though. (I feel your Rule V pain).

As Tonyee requested, here’s some love for the capital of CA (unless you ask Shaq)

2) Joe Cameron

3) Randy Chen

“Realsâ€

1) Huston Street-RHP (RP)

Specs & pic: http://rivercats.com/team/roster/?id=1242

Scouting: “89-94 fasball w/ heavy sink…His slider is most notable for its break than its velocity, but it’s a major-league out pitch…off the charts makeup (character not Revlon)…he won’t beat himself w/ walks…working on his changeup…could become Oakland’s closer in the very near futureâ€

2) John Baker- C, 1B [optioned]

Specs & pic: http://oakland.athletics.mlb.com/NASApp/ml...layer_id=434633

Scouting: “…offense minded C w/ fringy defensive skills…crowds the plate…needs to improve his ability to go other way w/ outside pitches, and his strike zone judgement has deteriorated…arm is below-average…His other defensive skills are adequate at best, leaving 1B as only other logical pos…will begin 2005 in AAAâ€

3) John Rheinecker-LHP (SP) [optioned]

Specs & pic: http://cbs.sportsline.com/mlb/players/playerpage/390820

Scouting: “…hitters have lit him up…control has regressed…good stuff for a lefty, w/ an 87-90 mph, a plus slider and a decent changeup. He added a cutter last year and showed good progress with it…inconsistent…will return to AAAâ€

4) Freddie Bynum-Util. [optioned]

Specs & pic: http://cbs.sportsline.com/mlb/players/playerpage/383402

Scouting: “…played every pos. but C and 1B in 2004…plus-plus speed giving him above average range at any position...lacks power…instincts and routes in the OF were pleasant surprises…needs to focus on improving his bunting and on-base skills…can be sloppy in the infield…will return to AAA in 2005…â€

5) Mike Rouse- SS/2B [optioned]

Specs & pic: http://www.cbs.sportsline.com/mlb/players/playerpage/292313

Scouting: “…hits for a decent average, getting on base and showing occasional pop and OK speed…susceptible to breaking balls…batted just .209 vs. lefties last year…doesn’t cover a lot of ground at SS and his arm is average..he’ll return to AAA to begin 2005.â€

6) Chris Mabeus- RHP (RP)

Specs: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/players/7266/

pic: http://story.scout.com/a.z?s=304&p=2&a...2%2f346599.html

Scouting: “Mabeus does not throw with exceptional velocity, but he has exhibited excellent command of his sinking fastball and his slider…In 2005, Mabeus may contend for a major league bullpen spot in spring training, depending on the A’s roster moves from now until March, but it’s more likely that he’ll return to Sacramento to start the season, with an eye on a mid-season call up to the Oakland bullpen.†Taken from: http://athletics.scout.com/2/326325.html

7) Jeremy Brown-C [optioned]

Specs & pic: http://oakland.athletics.mlb.com/NASApp/ml...layer_id=425851

Scouting: “The two players most identified with the “Moneyball†draft are outfielder Nick Swisher and catcher Jeremy Brown. While Lewis wrote glowingly of both players and the A’s are excited about their early progress, other teams said both were overdrafted. The A’s love Swisher’s ability to work counts and project him as a center fielder with 30-homer pop. Others outside the organization don’t think he’ll do either. Brown is an on-base machine who has hit for average and occasional power. Behind the plate, he’s an expert at calling games and working with pitchers. However, his lack of athleticism and mobility make it difficult for him to block pitches or throw out basestealers.†Taken from : http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/featu.../athletics.html

8) Adam Morissey- SS,2B [optioned]

Specs & pic: http://www.rivercats.com/team/roster/?id=1077

Scouting: “Adam Morrissey was once one of the A’s brightest prospects, but his chances to make an impact at the major league level are quickly diminishing. The Australian native was a big prospect when he was acquired from the Chicago Cubs as a 20 year-old. However, he has been wildly inconsistent ever since his arrival in the Oakland system…He needs a strong spring and a good campaign in Sacramento this season or he’ll be in danger of dropping out of the A’s depth chart entirely.â€

9) Jason Perry-OF [official option 3-16-05]

Specs : http://cbs.sportsline.com/mlb/players/playerpage/533011

Scouting: none

Like Houston (Round Rock), needs 2 more to have 11 “fakes†replaced by 11 “realsâ€

Houston34-

Good call on Huffman. Thus they will have 3 C’s on AAA roster (unusual but not out of the question) or they demote Tremie. I'll look at the other guys, see if two look like AAA 'stickers'.(Got caught with the Mark McClemore "bug"..LOL)

Nationals acquired OF Tyrell Godwin from the Blue Jays for LHP Aaron Wideman; sent Godwin outright to Triple-A New Orleans.

Godwin was selected by the Nationals in the Rule 5 draft. The team wasn't going to keep him in the majors, but by trading for his rights, they can now send him to the minors. The Blue Jays didn't mind giving him up, as he's a tools player who never figures to amount to much. Wideman, a 2003 11th-round pick, had a 1.81 ERA and limited hitters to a .173 average in 10 starts for short-season Single-A Vermont last season.

Some changes to my crappy Reds roster.

Ray Olmedo needs to be moved to AAA Louisville

Ricky Stone to AAA

Randy Keisler to AAA

I didn't know where Bubba Nelson would be, so I just randomly through him in AA Closer spot until further notice

Benito Baez

Lance Caraccipli

Paxton Crawford

Casey DeHart

Chris Gruler

Paul Janish (Just Speed Up)

Jake Meyer

Brad Salmon

Mark Schramek

All those need to be rated

im sorry, i should'ev clearified my question: how will the injury or semi-retirment (or total retirement) of bonds affect the rosters. I know that you are putting injured players in AAA but bonds might never come back, he also might come back next year.

Also i would be happy to help out with your AAA rosters if u need it, i will post some Charolette Knights roster information.

MLB Transactions - 3/22/2005 Previous Transactions

Boston Red Sox

Blaine Neal - Relief Pitcher

Red Sox acquired RHP Blaine Neal from the Padres for OF Adam Hyzdu.

Theo Epstein is getting the better of former boss Kevin Towers again, although this benefits San Diego a little more than losing Neal on waivers would have. The Padres clearly were leaning toward not keeping Neal as their final reliever. They may go with Steve Sparks or Randy Williams. Neal would probably be Byung-Hyun Kim's replacement should the Red Sox make another trade. Once viewed as a potential closer by the Marlins, Neal still has the stuff to be an average or above average reliever. He threw well for the Padres last year until some problems in September.

Cincinnati Reds

Ricky Stone - Relief Pitcher

Reds reassigned RHP Ricky Stone and LHP Randy Keisler to minor league camp.

Stone's departure is a surprise, as the Cincinnati papers were indicating that he was probably the favorite to occupy the lone opening in the pen. Now it seems that either Jose Acevedo, Todd Coffey or Joe Valentine will join Danny Graves, Ryan Wagner, David Weathers, Kent Mercker, Ben Weber and the loser of the fifth-starter competition (Josh Hancock or Brandon Claussen).

Robert Stratton - Outfielder

Reds reassigned OF Rob Stratton to minor league camp; optioned 3B Edwin Encarnacion and C Dane Sardinha to Triple-A Louisville.

Stratton had supposedly played himself into contention for a bench spot, but this shows the Reds didn't give serious consideration to keeping him. He might reemerge as an option if Wily Mo Pena is traded. Basically, he is Pena minus the upside and the ability to play center field.

Chicago White Sox

Brian Anderson - Outfielder

White Sox reassigned outfielders Brian Anderson and Ryan Sweeney to minor league camp.

Both 2003 first-round picks received a fair amount of playing time this spring. Anderson was 7-for-22 with three walks and Sweeney was 5-for-24 with a home run. It appears that that both will begin the season in Double-A, though Anderson is quite a bit closer to the majors than Sweeney is.

Kansas City Royals

Joe McEwing - Second Baseman

Royals signed infielder-outfielder Joe McEwing to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.

McEwing versus Denny Hocking. We've been waiting a long time for this battle. Well, we won't bash the Royals here. They had every intention of carrying Chris Clapinski before he hurt his shoulder, and it looks like they'll go with Ruben Gotay at second base and make Tony Graffanino a utilityman now. McEwing could be the club's 25th man, but the important thing is that that's all he'd be.

Philadelphia Phillies

Geoff Geary - Relief Pitcher

Phillies optioned RHP Geoff Geary to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and reassigned RHP Dan Giese, INF/C Chris Coste and INF Danny Sandoval to minor league camp.

Geary wasn't going to pass either Amaury Telemaco or Terry Adams on the depth chart by allowing eight earned runs in eight innings.

San Diego Padres

Adam Hyzdu - Outfielder

Padres acquired OF Adam Hyzdu from the Red Sox for RHP Blaine Neal.

Squeezing Hyzdu on to the San Diego bench could prove rather difficult. He's a decent 25th man, but the Padres may be looking at him strictly as insurance.

St Louis Cardinals

Tyler Johnson - Starting Pitcher

Athletics returned Rule-5 LHP Tyler Johnson to the Cardinals.

It's not a surprise that the A's didn't have room for Johnson, but some team with less bullpen depth should have given him a second look. He has the potential to be a very good lefty reliever.

Washington Nationals

Jeffrey Hammonds - Outfielder

Nationals reassigned outfielder Jeffrey Hammonds to minor league camp.

Hammonds was 5-for-24 with a home run. He still might be an adequate fifth outfielder in the majors, but he was never a fit on the Nationals. Until today, he actually had more plate appearances than J.J. Davis, which says a lot about the team's priorities.

Tyrell Godwin - Outfielder

To the Guy that said the Cardinals don't want Tyler Johnson, that's just nuts. If the A's were keeping him, they wouldn't have returned him. they would have just sent another player to the cards. Like Washington did to keep Godwin today

haha, the a's dont have any room for him on the roster, butthe cardnails dont want him back, something will happen and tyler will be back in the oakland farm system

and thanks to the dude who put up the sacto roster, though huston street will probably be int he pros and jario garcia will be moved to AAA.

and dont forget about esteban german who is now on the rangers.

if that was the case, then the a's would have never returned him, it's not how it works. look at todays tranasactios, and see the trade between the jays and nats. thats how it's done. and anyhoo, Tyler will be join the double a team in springfield. the cards have always had high hopes for him. he was coming back from injuries that's why he was left off the 40 man.

i am the assistant gm for the midwest league peoria chiefs. and was here when he was.

I just finished Buffalo and Indianapolis, bringing the total complete AAA teams to 12. Pawtucket and Omaha are one away, Durham, Richmond and Toledo are just 2 away. Any suggestions to who would be good to create for those teams?
