thr33niL
Just looking over UR6.5 one more time and a few more Mariner needed tweaks.. ================================ *Add a 2-Seam fastball to Felix Hernandez with some wicked break. Left-slight somewhere in the 9-11 range at 95-97mph. He has better control with the 2-seamer than with his 4-seamer and only throws it 1-2mph slower. *Increase Raul Ibanez's power. He having a career year (284/.351/.532 16 bombs, 60 RBI’s). On pace for 30Hrs, 120RBI and a .500+ SLG. *Gil Meche dropped his 2-seam fastball and uses a slider now. *Up Yuniesky Betancourts defensive abilities. A lot of scouts consider him the best defensive SS in the AL. *Rafael Soriano throws a moving fastball (94-96mph), a slider that acts like a power curve (Drops with 9-10 movement @ 81mph), and a change that is left-slight, 4-6 movement @ 83-85 mph. He has shown very good control with the slider and fastball this year. *J.J. Putz has flipped a switch since being named closer this year. His fastball (98mph) and monster splitter (88-91mph with 12-13movement) are his killers. Both he spots. His slider/curveball still have good movement but he rarley throws them. Also he should have a Matt Morris delivery and be slotted as the closer. *George Sherrill should have a better slider. Its his out pitch and is killer on lefties. *In the minors.. OF Chris Snelling (AAA), CF Adam Jones (AAA), SS Asdrubal Cabrera (AAA), C Jeff Clement (AAA), 2B/SS Michael Garciaparra (AAA) and OF Michael Wilson (AA) should be looked at again. They stuck out at me as better than this roster set portrays. For example, Chris Snelling was hitting nearly .380 last year in the PCL before his Sept. call up and subsequent knee injury. He has been the Mariner's next 'Edgar Martinez' for sometime but is as fragile as glass. If he stays healthy, he is a .300/.370/.450 bat in the majors. Adam Jones is hitting very well in AAA Tacoma this year at 20 years old. He's hitting .341 in June and may see a Sept callup despite his age. Garciaparra is hitting .333 this year in AAA. Jeff Clement is on the fast track to the bigs and despite his knee injury, many think he will be in Seattle this Sept. Minor league scouts say his bat is ready for the majors right now and has 30+ HR power. Michael Wilson came out of nowhere from being a converted linebacker (6'2"/ 240lb Mack truck) to crushing the ball in AA/High-A to the tune of a .950+ OPS. ============================== Hope some of that helps.. Any Mariners questions, give me a hollar.

Totte
Scouting reports for: Jeff Peterson: http://www.calleaguers.com/PetersenJeff05.html Juan Serrato: http://www.calleaguers.com/SerratoJuan05.html All I know is Brian Anderson has a 89-92 fastball, 81 mph changeup and a curveball that reaches 77 mph and has a dirty break on it, but he has no control at all. Thanks, that was some good stuff :)
Totte
Nick Pereira (RHP) DOB- 09-22-1982. 6'0" 190 lbs. 5-3, 3.04, 50.1 IP, 41 K, 14 BB for S-K. Yet another young draftee with excellent control numbers. *A converted middle infielder who didn’t begin pitching until his sophomore year in junior college, Pereira confused hitters with a deceptive delivery, a sinking fastball that touched 92-93 mph and a hard, late-breaking slider. This was Pereira's most effective start in a few weeks. His sinker appeared to be working more effectively with a 10/2 GO/FO. ** HE HAS ALSO ADDED CIRCLE CHANGE** Thanks for the info. I've edited Periera :)

Dasda
Totte, since u are looking at adjusting some ratings here is one which i think deserves a look VERNON WELLS 2006 Split Stats G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB K SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS Total 72 283 44 91 19 3 20 62 31 42 9 3 .322 .388 .622 1.009 G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB K SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS vs. Left 33 75 12 27 6 0 2 11 7 12 4 2 .360 .415 .520 .935 vs. Right 71 208 32 64 13 3 18 51 24 30 5 1 .308 .378 .659 1.037 vernon ratings are in the low 70's against righties but his rating power mainly, should be much higher since he has most of his homer vs right handers. just a suggestion. snepp
That page does not display the correct splits for last season. The last 3 years: vs. Lefties 470 AB 26 HR = 18.1 AB/HR vs. Righties 1364 AB 58 HR = 23.5 AB/HR If you include this season's stats it narrows: vs. Lefties 545 AB 28 HR = 19.5 AB/HR vs. Righties 1572 AB 76 HR = 20.7 AB/HR This doesn't even touch his other power numbers. He has hit significantly more doubles vs lefties, as well as having a superior bb/so ratio, higher batting average, higher obp, and higher slugging %. Just trying to help as well. :)

herky
Here are some of the Cub prospect rankings based off stats this year. Taken from scout.com on June 26th. 1. Rich Hill – SP – Iowa Just 44 hits and 12 walks allowed in 63-plus innings this season. That is magnificent anywhere, let alone the PCL. He struck out 10 without a walk against Omaha in his recent start and has four double-digit strikeout performances this season. His 2.12 ERA is now tops in the farm system for any full-season starter. 2. Randy Wells – SP – Iowa His first career start at Triple-A saw him lit up to the tune of seven runs and nine hits in 3 2/3 innings. This after his final start at Double-A, where he surrendered four runs in six innings. Nevertheless, his ERA (2.45) is above two points for the first time all season. 3. Jake Fox – C – West Tenn A well-deserved promotion to Double-A has seen him go 5-for-15 in his first five games there. He remains the RBI leader in the farm system with 62. 4. Micah Hoffpauir – 1B – Iowa Four home runs in the past week has propelled him back into the farm system lead with 19. His .258 average since being called up to Iowa is a shade lower than what he’d like, but he is second only to Fox in RBIs with 56. His 37 extra base hits also lead the system. 5. Sean Gallagher – SP – West Tenn Ten walks in his first two Double-A outings are a tad alarming, but he remains solid overall at 6-0 with a 2.45 ERA in 15 starts, including 2-0 with his new club. His 91 strikeouts are the most in the farm system. 6. Clay Rapada – RP/CP – Iowa A 0.82 ERA, .92 WHIP, plus 4-to-1 strikeout to walk ratio and 21 saves at West Tenn got the sidearm lefty his first promotion to Triple-A last week. 7. Mark Reed – C – Peoria His 11-game hitting streak ended over the weekend, but he has hits in 14 of his last 16 games and is batting .330 overall and .354 in June – much better than his brief stint with the team in April of last year. 8. Donald Veal – SP – Daytona Mostly impressive in his High-A debut, he allowed an unearned run and five hits in 5 2/3 innings. He continues to battle Gallagher and Hill for the most strikeouts in the farm system with 89 in 79 1/3 innings. 9. Sam Fuld – OF – Daytona He has not played since June 21 and has been placed on the DL. Even in his worst stretch of the season (0 for his last 10), he still maintains a .328 average and .406 OBP. 10. Chris Shaver – SP – West Tenn The 6’7†left-hander is 10th and rising after allowing just two earned runs in his last four starts. His 4-4 record does not do a 2.37 ERA justice. On the Bubble Mitch Atkins (SP, Peoria) – A season-high four earned runs allowed in each of his last two starts, coupled with his shortest outing of the year in his most recent start puts Atkins on the bubble for the week. His ERA remains a steady 2.58. Nic Jackson (OF, West Tenn) – Batting above .314 with a .382 OBP since being called up to Double-A in late April. Mike Fontenot (2B, Iowa) – An OBP of near .400 (.396) in 68 games. J.R. Mathes (SP, West Tenn) – A complete game, four-hit shutout on Sunday lowered his ERA to below three points and earned him his seventh victory this season, which ties Iowa’s Les Walrond. Miguel Negron (OF, West Tenn) – Continues to swing the bat well with a .363 average in his first 30 games with the Jaxx. Equally as impressive is his .417 OBP since coming over from the Blue Jays farm system. Fourteen of his 33 hits have gone for extra bases. Eric Patterson (2B, West Tenn) – Recently selected to this year’s Futures Game, he is hovering around .300 with an OBP of .354 after skipping High-A ball. Mark Holliman (SP, Daytona) – A 2.88 ERA and .189 average against leads Daytona’s starting rotation. Impressive numbers for last year’s third-round pick that went right to work in High-A to kick off his professional career. Thomas Atlee (RP, Iowa) – One run and five hits allowed in 9 2/3 innings since the call-up to Triple-A. Overall this season, he has a 1.53 ERA in 52 2/3 innings from the bullpen. Ryan Harvey (OF, Daytona) – Despite hovering around the Mendoza Line most of the season, he has the third most RBIs in the system with 41 in 61 games and is batting a much improved .286 in June.
