There it is. When I made that post, I just knew someone would have something to say, and my first thought was, guess who? You!

Now, let's see what we have in today's episode of "Hory's World".

Read my post again. Go on, read it again, don't just keep reading this line.

All done? OK, now read this part I quoted again.

Done? OK. Now, do you see the difference between what I typed and what you decided to pick out? No? Well, let's see.

Professional baseball. Not major-league professional baseball. You'll need to try harder than that for today's attempt.

I'm concerned with having "accurate" rosters for every level of the Yankees organisation, as well as the rest of the teams. I make what changes I can to the Yankees system to make them as accurate as possible, and pass on pieces of knowledge concerning other teams players to Totte. I'm sure he can verify this. The facts are that due to the DL situation, it's impossible to have accurate MLB rosters without sending down some of the biggest names in the game. For example, to have an accurate MLB roster for the Yankees, Hideki Matsui and Gary Sheffield would have to be removed from the roster. Not only am I against that, most of the users, as well as Totte himself, is against it. As for deleting him, take your pick. Players who cannot be placed into their actual team due to space limitations are deleted, rather than being placed on the free agent list or left on another team simply because there is space there. Would you rather have them on the free agent list to be picked up by another team, even though they don't play for them?

How about sending suggestions rather than critisisms next time? And don't bother with the next PM, I can pretty much guess what it'll say already.

So you respond to a criticism of your work with personal attacks and ridiculous strawman arguments.

It's disappointing you are incapable of having a reasoned discussion over this issue.

I'm well aware of how the DL works and deleting a player has nothing to do with the DL.

Yes, it would be impossible to have every player in 'professional' baseball.

A conservative guess would be there at least 20,000 pro ball players worldwide, and given that the roster is limited to 3250 that is just not practical.

However it is very possible to include every Major Leaguer, that is a very realistic objective.

Since we don't have 40-man rosters or a DL, we have to make compromises.

In my opinion, the compromises have to come at the minor league levels,

in order of precedence, the rosters should include

- 25 man MLB roster guys,

then Guys on the DL,

then 40-man roster guys and then the Top Prospects, then any other players with major league experience.

What spaces are left should be filled up with the most significant minor leaguers.

Obviously you have a different philosphy with the rosters, but that does not mean this is not a discussion worth having.

that is probably because a new cyberface you added has the same face number as his. i had the same problem when i added teh cj henry cyberface, because scott proctor had his face ID.

I haven't added any new cyberfaces, I just have the generic ones that came with the 06 mod and the 6.5 Rosters. Choo Freeman of the Rockies has a face of an old white guy (looks like Tommy LaSorda) and Yorvit Torreabla has a face of a white guy. Jose Molina on the Angels also has a face of a white guy. Will these problems be addressed in the 7.0 rosters? Thanks.

Are the contracts accurate on the new rosters? I was just checking out the contract for a couple guys and they were off. I was just wondering if this was something that was gonna be in 7.0. ie: Mike Hampton's contract was off, along with a couple others.

I fixed the contracts way back in the UR-series. If you find something that's not right, please tell me and I'll correct it.

Thanks

what formulas do you guys use for making the power, contact, and stamina ratings of the players?

It's based on 3-year splits vs. both left- and righthanded pitchers. Updated the hot- and cold zones too. Everything was done by a formula that kraw developed.

What about a player like Mike Jacobs? He's got the most ridiculously lopsided splits vs LHP and RHP I've ever seen. He's got a .310+ average vs righties, and a .120- average vs LHP.

What about him? He's been edited by the same formula as everyone else...

Jays OF Reed Johnson has been working on drills at 2B and could end up playing 2B in the future for the Jays. Also he is an excellent defensive outfielder and has great range so those attributes need to be improved. He also runs about 80. Don't add it yet as one of his positions right now though as he hasn't played a game at that position.

Just wait for the new release dude...

If you want the formulas, speak to krawhitham but I doubt he'll give them to you.

So I'll just edit the fielding and range ratings then and you'll let me know when to change him into a 2B?

Thought I'd give you an update on UR 7.0 before I head to bed and call it a night.

The plan was to release the rosters tomorrow but others things have come up that I need to take care of while there's still some minor issues on the rosters that I'd like to adjust before releasing them. I'm not gonna give my whole schedule away but since I won't be working on the rosters as planned tomorrow, my next chance to sit down with them would be Monday. We'll see if Monday is enough to finish the work but I definitely plan on releasing them before I go to Boston next Thursday.

Now here's a little info that unfortunately is necessary to put in here. I won't accept anyone saying "just release the rosters now, don't mind the other stuff - we've waited for so long" etc. I'll say the F-word to those people! I've worked so hard on this update that I don't want to upload something that I'm not happy with. If you don't like, find a way to like it .

They'll be out when they're finished, end of story!

The problem is not in the rosters. It is in the fact that you are using an outdated models.big. If you do not update the models.big, you will have the exact same problems & worse when 7.0 comes along.
