bbythepier
2 more CAPs for Albuquerque : 1) Randy Messenger [optioned 3-16] Specs and pic: http://sports2.chron.com/chron/baseball/player.cgi?5230 Scouting: “…started blowing away hitters with a 93-96 mph fastball. His breaking ball needs work. It remains an ineffective combination of a slider and curve…He is durable…†2) Franklyn Gracesqui- LHP (RP) Specs & pic: http://cbs.sportsline.com/mlb/players/playerpage/448931 Scouting: “…has a live fastball that tops out at 96 mph and compliments that with a fair slider and the occasional change…His slider could morph into a cut fastball…registered first career save in S.F. last year, but had too many command problems to stick around…†Again not on AAA, bigs, imports, creates

bbythepier
A couple more CAPs for Albuquerque 1) Jason Hill-C [reassigned 3-16] Based on stats at AA in ’04: 78 G, .297 Specs & stats: http://cbs.sportsline.com/mlb/players/playerpage/288960 Has already played for them: March 19, 2005 - Hill Leads ‘Topes Over Memphis: Catcher Jason Hill went 3x3 with a homer and three RBI, leading the Albuquerque Isotopes (2-1) to a 10-6 victory over the Memphis Redbirds on Saturday afternoon in Jupiter, FL. 2) Matt Padgett-OF [reassigned 3-16] Specs & stats: http://cbs.sportsline.com/mlb/players/playerpage/292760 6 fakes from 3.5 roster – 3 previous CAPs – 4 proposed CAPs on the last two posts = -1 ? Well Yorman Bazardo, one of their top prospects, was officially optioned to AA on March 16. He then needs to be demoted on your current rosters. http://florida.marlins.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/...ns.jsp?c_id=fla I'm marking this one off my list. doctdc
Hey Guys. Can't wait to download your rosters and start a Dynasty (I'm waiting for your opening day rosters). Quick questions. 1. Do your rosters include historical stats for added players (i.e. Bonds) 2. Will they include cyberfaces or can we add them? Thanks again for your great work. Your completed rosters will make the game so much better for me. Now if you guys could solve my stuttering issue..... maybe another thread. bbythepier
According to Hyp, there was one fake left on Indy. Well on 3-20-05 they optioned Bobby Bradley to AAA (don't use the Chronicle site for this one, use this official site: http://pittsburgh.pirates.mlb.com/NASApp/m...s.jsp?c_id=pit) He would fill the void. Bobby Bradley-RHP (SP) Specs and pic: http://sports2.chron.com/chron/baseball/player.cgi?2068 Scouting: "...has gone through two elbow surgeries, including Tommy John in 2001, as well as shoulder operation....His best offering has always been his big breaking curveball, and the pitch still has outstanding bite...has improved his fasball over the years, and it now reaches 90-91 mph and has outstanding sinking action. He has problems getting his changeup over for strikes...hesistant to pitch to contact at times...He'll begin season in AAA..." Again not in AAA, bigs, imports, creates Pirate fans don't come at me because I didn't dissect AAA fully. You guys sent 800 players to "minor league camp" which could be Rookie ball to AAA. I'll let the chips fall.
bbythepier
dd....ddd....dd....doctdc- welcome to the fold. Just kidding! Didn't know what the stuttering comment meant, but I couldn't let it go. Another Giant fan is always welcome. I think most of the players will have "major league" stats.
houston34
MLB Transactions - 3/23/2005 Previous Transactions Arizona Diamondbacks Shane Nance - Relief Pitcher Diamondbacks reassigned LHP Shane Nance and catcher Craig Ansman to minor league camp. We wonder if the Diamondbacks are having second thoughts regarding Randy Choate's multiyear deal considering that Nance and Kevin Tolar have been the best lefty relievers in camp. Nance, acquired from the Brewers in the Richie Sexson deal, will likely log some time in the Arizona pen this year. Boston Red Sox Lenny Dinardo - Relief Pitcher Red Sox optioned LHP Lenny DiNardo and LHP Mark Malaska to Triple-A Pawtucket; reassigned RHP Scott Cassidy, LHP Jason Kershner, INF Tim Hummel and C-OF Jeff Bailey to minor league camp. The Red Sox are down to 35 players. All three lefties sent down are candidates to be the first pitcher called up by the Red Sox. DiNardo and Malaska have the advantage of being on the 40-man roster, but Kershner, a former Blue Jay, struck out six while allowing just two men to reach in four scoreless innings this spring. Minnesota Twins Scott Baker - Starting Pitcher Twins reassigned RHP Scott Baker to minor league camp; optioned LHP Dave Gassner to Triple-A Rochester. Baker made quite an impression with his 0.82 ERA this spring. He gave up nine hits, walked none and struck out eight in 11 innings. If he continues to pitch well in Triple-A, the Twins won't have to move Terry Mulholland into the rotation should a starter go down. Pittsburgh Pirates Albie Lopez - Relief Pitcher Pirates released RHP Albie Lopez. Lopez made the decision for the team by leaving camp after his request to be placed on the 40-man roster was denied. He was throwing well enough before hurting his calf to put himself in contention for a roster spot. He'll probably sign a Triple-A contract with another team. Seattle Mariners Jorge Campillo - Starting Pitcher Mariners optioned RHP Jorge Campillo to Triple-A Tacoma; reassigned RHP Aaron Loopez and C Wiki Gonzalez to minor league camp. Campillo, who was signed out of the Mexican League last month, was sent down despite allowing one run in five innings tonight in a win over the Angels. He'll probably get a look as a middle reliever at some point.
HypnoxXx
Ok, still making some badass progress on AAA using the Chronicle website (I am a little worried, as I did find my first errors on that site--Chad Mottola still being on the Orioles org even though he signed with the Jays)...Right now I'm stuck for a few teams... Charlotte--I still need 2 position players to make (preferably a 2Bman and a 3Bman)...I've already created Raul Casanova and Jorge Toca... Nashville--I still need 1 positon player (preferably a CFer)...I've already created Tony Zuniga and Kevin Orie... Ottawa--I still need 1 postion player (no preference)...I've already created Napoleon Calzado, James Lofton, Eddie Rogers, Eli Whiteside and Sal Fasano... I'm now going to begin work on the final 3 AAA teams (thats right THREE): Colorado Springs, Columbus and Syracuse...I've seen bby has posted on all three so hopefully I'll get through them without a problem...If I do have any though, I'll come back and post an SOS like I did for the three listed above... houston34
Rumor Mill SportsLine.com staff Team by Team Chicago Cubs Updated:03/22/2005 The Cubs remain optimistic they can sign Aramis Ramirez to an extension in the next week and a half, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Neither side wants to continue money talks during the season, but Ramirez -- who can be a free agent after the season -- wants $10 million to $12 million a year for at least four years. Houston Astros Updated:03/22/2005 The Astros could end up with Bobby Higginson, who is a favorite of Houston manager Phil Garner, says the Detroit News and Free Press. Higginson is on the verge of being released or traded by the Tigers, according to the newspapers. New York Mets Updated:03/23/2005 The Mets have told the Tigers not to trade reliever Ugueth Urbina without checking with them first, Newsday reports. New York faces competition for the reliever from the Cubs, who lost closer Joe Borowski to injury this week. New York Yankees Updated:03/22/2005 Yankees GM Brian Cashman is listening to offers for pitchers Alex Graman and Bret Prinz, who are out of minor league options, says the New York Times. Philadelphia Phillies Updated:03/23/2005 Phillies GM Ed Wade believes he is making progress toward signing SS Jimmy Rollins to a long-term deal, says the Philadelphia Inquirer. Rollins becomes a free agent next year and could end up with a pact similar to those recently signed by the Angels' Orlando Cabrera (four years, $32 million) and the Red Sox' Edgar Renteria (four years, $40 million). Pittsburgh Pirates Updated:03/23/2005 Pitcher Albie Lopez, a 33-year-old right-hander attempting to return to the majors after sitting out the 2004 season, will seek his release rather than accept a minor-league assignment if he doesn't make the Pirates roster, says the Pittsburgh Tribune Review. Seattle Mariners Updated:03/23/2005 Seattle GM Bill Bavasi shot down rumors that he had been contacted by the Washington Nationals about shortstop Pokey Reese, who is expected to be the Mariners’ opening-day starter, reports the Tacoma News Tribune. Tampa Bay Devil Rays Updated:03/23/2005 Devil Rays GM Chuck LaMar and scouts from Florida and Arizona had a conference call to discuss holes that need filling in the lineup, reports the St. Petersburg Times. "I think we're going to be able to do a couple things. The most pressing, really, is a bat," said manager Lou Piniella. Washington Nationals Updated:03/23/2005 The Tampa Bay Devil Rays have been checking out Nationals' left-handed hitters -- infielder Nick Johnson and outfielders Terrmel Sledge and Ryan Church, but the Washington Post says the team is unlikely to part with them now. bbythepier
Memphis 4 fakes - 2 previous CAPs - 2 CAPs proposed here = done 1) Gabe Johnson- 3B/C Specs & pic: http://cbs.sportsline.com/mlb/players/playerpage/225380 Scouting: “…stopped focusing on power, concentrating instead on making quality contact and pulling balls only when he was pitched inside. He’s adequate on defense, but he’s so slow that one scout said “He couldn’t catch a dead man in a funeral home.†Johnson played 16 games at catcher last year, showing enough arm and aptitude for the position that the Cardinals think he could be a big league utility player if he keeps hitting. He’ll try to continue his progress in AAA.†2) Skip Schumaker- OF Specs: http://cbs.sportsline.com/mlb/players/playerpage/392876 Pic: http://stlouis.cardinals.mlb.com/NASApp/ml...layer_id=435401 Scouting: “…While he can hit for average and draw his share of walks, he offers very little power at the plate. He runs well but isn’t a good basestealer. Yet one scout graded Schumaker as a potential big leaguer based solely on his defense in CF. He has the best outfield arm in the organization. If he can repeat his production in AAA he may get his shot in the bigs…†LETS GO SKIP!!! (Coming from my alma mater)

bbythepier
OK, OK Hyp, I see you are leveling now, so I'll look over your past post. Since you've been working in the "back room" with Houston's site, some of my proposed CAPs may be different from yours. But my posts will always be here on the thread, when we get to making AA. (Although I think 95 % of my CAPs will end up on AAA, based on the factors I've already stated).

HypnoxXx
Updated List of Needed Players Charlotte--I still need 1 position player to make (preferably a 2Bman)...I've already created Raul Casanova, Jorge Toca and Mike Spidale... And I just found I have a fake hiding on Tucson, so I need a 2Bman or a 3BMan for my DBacks minor leaguers... I'm fixing errors on Fresno, Memphis and Pawtucket now. bbythepier
Nashville 1 proposed CAP Brad Nelson - LF, 1B specs: http://cbs.sportsline.com/mlb/players/playerpage/392191 Scouting: "...smooth, powerful stroke...uses entire field and hits with power to both gaps...shows good instincts and an average arm in left field...must improve his plat discipline and cut down on his K's...he has limited range...He'll head to AAA and likely remain there the entire season." The CF you're looking for is already created. Where you say? He's on the Brewers. Taken from: http://kffl.com/team/56/MLB "Brewers | Krynzel A Likely Cut Wed, 16 Mar 2005 02:08:54 -0800 The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports Milwaukee Brewers OF David Krynzel is a likely candidate for Triple-A Nashville regardless of how well he does in camp. "David's in a Catch-22," Brewers MAN Ned Yost said. "Either David is going to do so poorly in big-league camp that he's going to get sent down or he's going to do so well in big-league camp that he's going to get sent down. Jabroni
Jabroni- See six posts up who WILL play 3B at Charlotte. Yeah, I know. But Josh Fields is our top 3rd baseman prospect so he should be created and put somewhere. Fields is likely going to start at 3B for the Birmingham Barons but I wasn't sure if he was using accurate rosters for the minors or just plugging in the top prospects wherever they will fit. bbythepier
A 2B for Charlotte is a stumper! Somebody's probably going to make a position change. AA- Birmingham in 2004 : http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/Stats...Asthn_bir.shtml Games by Pos. 1B 2B 3B SS OF C E #Yan, Ruddy 0 127 0 0 1 0 11 But Yan is gone!! AAA-Charlotte in 2004 : http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/Stats...Aintl_cha.shtml Games by Pos. 1B 2B 3B SS OF C E Nelson, Bryant 0 109 4 0 12 0 13 Smith, Bobby 24 29 31 32 2 0 17 But Nelson and Smith are gone!!! What's my point? All 3 of the 2B at AA & AAA last year are gone!! Thus someone will need to jump all the way from A ball or change positions.
