Wzup with no CHris Truby on the ROyals and changing the pitches of some of these guys. FYI if you change the name of the pitch for example: slider to cutter you should think about the ratings of the pitch also. You cant just change the name without changing the effectiveness of the pitch. Right? I HEARD you guys were doing this and I wanted to find out if it was true because I like these rosters. I thought that stuff wasn't being done. I do like the thought of getting the pitches right, but if this stuff like my example is happening then some of the pitches these guys throw will be incredible making the rosters less accurate. Curious about Schilling too. Thanks guys.

Hey by the way all these people that are imported or created what is the photo going to look like? Are they going to just look default when your looking thru teams are they going to have the black photo with the white outline? (im praying they all have the black photo with the white outline)and we can do away with all the fake looking photos.

It just depends on what your using PC or consoles. that is all up to you

and if you installed a portrait pack, I uploaded about 200 photo packs for the Xbox in the Xbox section, If its a generic face chances are they will have a Animated Portrait. You can add faces for Ps2 and Xbox as well as PC. As far as the black faces with white border goes that happens when you use a roster that is set to call a Portrait and you didnt install that portrait and accident really. The portrait pack I uploaded for the Xbox are 100 percent compatible with this roster set and the faces will show. :D

Maybe if we saw more donations, it'd get released faster haha :p

Besides, just because AAA is finished now doesn't mean anything--the lineups are still crap, plus there's going to be transactions made everyday between now and opening day that will screw them up...

Houston, I have to ask man, do you use our rosters? LoL...Over half the guys you post stuff on or ask about including in the game--are already in there!

mjphillips--I can't tell if you're praising us or dissing us lol...First off, if you read over this thread at all, you'd know I'd be all over creating Chris Truby. He's signed sealed and delivered and ready for the next update. Secondly, about changing pitch types. Are you mad that we're tweaking these? Or do you think we're going to just flip the pitch type and change nothing else? You definately haven't read this thread if you'd think I'd be that dumb. Everything about the pitch gets tweaked. If the guy "just added it" this spring, it'll be his worst pitch. The proper trajectory and velocity will match up with the new pitch. I'm not giving anyone a 88 mph curveball that breaks 10-4...

Also, all suggestions on player tweaks since page 60 have been utilized...

Hypno I am almost done with the Reds AAA being as accurate as it can be. Still it would be easier if you guys could post any sites that have information on AAA or there depth charts.

I love your enthusiasm. Trust me if I had the magic AAA or AA site, I'd be the first to give it up. Every one of my posts come after looking at the official club's site, Houston's site, the AAA affiliate's site, The AA affiliate's site, bla bla bla bla. The problem is 90% of the AAA sites are a year old, and 75% of the players get reassigned to "minor league camp", where ever that might be. Just use all the tools available to you. (Use that BA Prospect book when you can, those writers talk DIRECTLY to team scouts, so they have a great idea when it comes to a player's future and the teams plans)

mjp-

Whether a pitcher actually throws a certain pitch is objective. He either does or doesn't. FACT.

How well he throw it is subjective. OPINION

Thank god (or RGlass) for MVPEdit if you don't agree w/ the boys' settings. For instance, some of these scouting reports say "he has a plus slider". What does that mean? Your guess , or Hyp's, or mine, who's is better? Got me. I can just say they do the best they can.

A few transactions that have happened today that you possibly havent seen.

2B Jason Bourgeois claimed off waivers by the braves from the rangers.

P Turk Wendell Released by Astros

P Josias Manzanillo Released By Red Sox

P Denny Neagle Released By Devil Rays

OF Tom Goodwin Released by Devil Rays

also Steve Watkins a minor leaguer on the Indians has a knucklecurve instead of an actual curve and it is said to be quite good. The guys on YES kept talking about it and he made a-rod look stupid as he flailed at it.

Ya, I know it sucks. I have 74 players that are in the Reds minors, that I know of created. I am looking for a good position player to stick in the last one. But yeah I know what you mean. I used the Houston Chronicle, Reds MVN, Red Reporter, ESPN, MLB everything. Even if you do find a guy you have to find out info on him. I hope to have at least accurate people that look similiar.

Also, trying to fit it about 30 starting pitcher into 15 spots sucks. The H said he would try to help me, that would help.

After trying to help "horizontally" with AAA (and in order to give Hyp a breather), I have spent the day wrapping up the Giants "vertically" down to A ball. It's impossible for me to know what or how many transactions the crew has 'updated', so I don't want to blast you with useless posts. What's the next step? :?

Just chillin', watching a little NCAA hoops.

I hate working on all of this. Most of the information I am using is just a few months old. But still its a few months old and its from people guessing where they will end up. And a lot of the players won't even show up on Google

IMO if they aren't at this site, then they didn't play organized baseball last year

Hook it up Will "The Thrill". Can I get a little 'Batman Pose' after hitting the long ball?

theFatty-

Keep your head up. If you just get LL and Hyp to create the "right" guys, swapping them once they move will be a breeze. Good luck.

You may not even care, but I took a quick glance at one of your positions in the minors, catcher. You have a guy at C in AAA by the name of Sardinha. Problem is he can't hit. You have another C in AA by the name of Peterson, who happens to be the same age. Here's what he did last year at AA:

On the field: Batted .300 with 21 doubles, six homers and 40 RBI in 93 games with Double-A Chattanooga last season. ... Tied for second among Reds minor-leaguers in batting average. ... Was named a Southern League All-Star and selected as the league's best defensive catcher by Baseball America. taken from: http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art...25/1071/SPT0301

So logic would tell you he's ready for the next step at AAA. But what's not on the stat sheet is Sardinha was a 2nd round pick who signed for $1.75 mil. Peterson signed for a cup of coffee and a bagel. So naturally the Reds WANT Sardinha to succeed more than Peterson, even though Peterson may be the appropriate choice at AAA. Such is the 'inexact'-ness in trying to predict roster slots.

There are a bunch of catchers that are pretty crappy offensively, they tend to draft defensive catchers. But Sardinha will play in AAA this year. Even though he can't hit a broad side of a barn. And I think Peterson will also play in AAA, the only thing stopping that is like you said, they want Sardinha to suceed. Those where just my first "version" of the rosters. I still need to shuffle around players, and I also did those in a hurry. Hypno said he wanted me to get them by Monday and I worked on it Saturday and Sunday. There a great interview with Peterson here:http://www.redreporter.com/story/2005/2/6/23424/88970

It seems like each minor league level carries 30 something people!

It was just an anecdote, not a criticism of your choices.

Now put yourself in the shoes of a (wannabe) GM. Would you want two prospects sharing time at the same level, or playing everyday at different levels? They both hit right, so you can't platoon them. Such are the "headaches" an organization goes thru.

Its no problem, I know exactly what your talking about. I was thinking the same thing about you want them both to play everyday. They obviously won't sent down Sardinha, so its either Peterson everyday at AA or him part of the time in AAA. The same situation is with Rob Stratton. The Reds OF is so crowded, but Stratton has been spectacular. Although on the OF depth chart there is: Dunn, Griffey, Kearns, Pena, Freel and then it would be Stratton. The organization went with him playing everyday in AAA, which I agree with.
