The consensus among modders and users including the man the charge of the rosters was that players with major league experience stay in the rosters, and do not get deleted unless they have retired.

That is the system used for the other 29 organisations, and should be used for the 30th.

The rosters are intended for dynasty use, not exhibition, so if you delete said players, they will never appear in a users dynasty.

I know you want this discussed behind closed doors because you have no reason to delete these players and going against the consensus here.

Please re-add the players.

I totally agree with you Hory

I want it discussed behind closed dorrs? No, I want it discussed in the designated place - via e-mail. Totte has requested it, I've requested it. It saves me time, it saves Hory time, it means better organisation of suggestions rather than having them all over the damn place.

If users are really that desperate to have these players in, there's literally nothing to stop them opening the rosters in MVPEdit, doing whatever the hell they want with them including adding any and all players they wish, then starting their dynasty with those rosters rather than the stock version. Should take less than 2 minutes to open the file, delete 1 player, add a new one, and export the rosters. Is it really that hard, given such utter desperation to have a guy like Sean Henn, who has pitched a total of 11.1 innings over 3 games in the major leagues?

As I've said before, I'd like nothing more than to have space for these guys, but the fact is that there isn't. You go ahead and re-code MVP to have a disabled list in the rosters if you want, then you can ask me to put them in and I'll do it at the first opportunity. But until then, I'll continue to use the players I think best reflects the Yankees organisation at that time, whether it be the New York Yankees, the Columbus Clippers, then Trenton Thunder, or any of the A-ball teams. I won't delete prospects or guys with potential to be September call-ups or starters in the majors just to have an over-the-hill veteran who wouldn't gain a glance from the worst teams in baseball at the waiver line in the rosters - especially if they're out for the year.

Am I the only one who actually thinks prospects who are, quite frankly, better players should come before veterans with MLB experience who have very little chance of making it back to the major leagues on a consistant basis? Please, anyone else who thinks along these lines, let me know.

you have to donate 5 dollars now to mvpmods.com, and then you'll be able to download anything.... this just happened within the past week...
I thought they decided not to do that. Instead they left the bandwith the same, so now everything is slow.

No-one is arguing that top prospects should be deleted for 'over-the-hill' veterans like 25 year old Darrell Rasner or Russ Johnson who has played in 364 major league games, or Mitch Jones, who has not played in the majors at all, but is on the Yankees 40 man roster.

That is, unless you consider all 50 players you currently have in AA+A 'top prospects' which as far as I can tell, no sensible baseball publication does.

Yes, there is no disabled list in the game, which means compromises have to made, and as is done with the other 29 organisations those compromises come at the lower levels. It's about taking a consistent approach across all teams.

The rosters should include in order of precedence

1) MLB Players on the 25 man roster

2) MLB players normally on the 25 man roster who are injured

3) Any other members of the 40 man Roster

4) Top Prospects

5) Any other players with major league experience

6) Significant minor leaguers

I think you'd have a hard time convincing people that for this one organisation out of 30 that 6) should be above 5).

Especially with a farm system such as the Yankees have, while not terrible, doesn't exactly set the world on fire.

I would definetly rather have guys like Terrence Long, Carlos Pena, Russ Johnson & Koyie Hill than guys in Single A like Eric Wordekemper. I can see your side, but I see no reason to delete these guys completely. It's not that huge of a deal to me cause I did what you said already and deleted those crappy single A guys and inserted actual players who have made the majors.

A couple more moves:

The Jays signed P Jeremy King to a minor league contract and assigned him to Dunedin (A). He had been released by the Yankees last week.

Also IF Jose Vizcaino was DFA by San Francisco

The last time I checked, Gary Sheffield and Hideki Matsui are also injured. Maybe they should be deleted as well.

I've looked throughout the Cubs and I think the following changes to some player's stances would add some realism:

Neifi Perez=change to 'Helton, Todd'

John Mabry=change to 'Glaus, Troy'

Ryan Theriot(in AAA)=change to 'Bent'

Phil Nevin=change to 'Ordonez, Magglio'

Ronny Cedeno=change to 'Guerrero, Vladimir', add 'Black' shin-guard, change glove to 'Black'

Juan Pierre=there really isnt any good stance for Pierre, but I think 'Jones, Chipper' would be the best (if only we could change the bat waggle)

some other changes:

Morgan Ensberg=change to 'Open'

David Eckstein=change to 'Bent' (i think I already said this)

The NL and AL All-Star managers are still Terry Francona and Tony LaRussa (replace with Ozzie Guillen and Phil Garner and you'll need to copy their attributes over from the White Sox and Astros)

Some moves today:

Boston DFA'd C Corky Miller

Colorado singed 3B Vinny Castilla to a minor league contract

Thanks. I guess it means that Corky goes back to Pawtucket...
