Ultimate Roster Project (PC,Xbox,PS2)

I've looked throughout the Cubs and I think the following changes to some player's stances would add some realism:

Neifi Perez=change to 'Helton, Todd'

John Mabry=change to 'Glaus, Troy'

Ryan Theriot(in AAA)=change to 'Bent'

Phil Nevin=change to 'Ordonez, Magglio'

Ronny Cedeno=change to 'Guerrero, Vladimir', add 'Black' shin-guard, change glove to 'Black'

Juan Pierre=there really isnt any good stance for Pierre, but I think 'Jones, Chipper' would be the best (if only we could change the bat waggle)

some other changes:

Morgan Ensberg=change to 'Open'

David Eckstein=change to 'Bent' (i think I already said this)

The NL and AL All-Star managers are still Terry Francona and Tony LaRussa (replace with Ozzie Guillen and Phil Garner and you'll need to copy their attributes over from the White Sox and Astros)

I won't change the All-Star managers but I'll have a look at the other info. Thanks :)

Me too (finally!).

I'll start right away after work tomorrow. I'm actually leaning towards the D'backs (again). I keep having second thoughts about what team to run with but I feel confident this time

Hi, Totte, thanks to you and your help for the great work on the rosters.

In your UR 7.3+ , I wonder if the roster installer works at all. It seems like after it ask for MVP folder, you click next (or whatever it was) it just finishes without writing anything. I'm actually looking for a .mbe file so I can tailor with MVPedit.

Thanks again.

does someone mine looking at UR 7.3 standard and telling me Michael Barrett's cyberface number (I accidently changed it). I know it's generic but I still want to know. I dont want to download UR 7.3 again and waste bandwidth.

No-one is arguing that top prospects should be deleted for 'over-the-hill' veterans like 25 year old Darrell Rasner or Russ Johnson who has played in 364 major league games, or Mitch Jones, who has not played in the majors at all, but is on the Yankees 40 man roster.

That is, unless you consider all 50 players you currently have in AA+A 'top prospects' which as far as I can tell, no sensible baseball publication does.

Yes, there is no disabled list in the game, which means compromises have to made, and as is done with the other 29 organisations those compromises come at the lower levels. It's about taking a consistent approach across all teams.

The rosters should include in order of precedence

1) MLB Players on the 25 man roster

2) MLB players normally on the 25 man roster who are injured

3) Any other members of the 40 man Roster

4) Top Prospects

5) Any other players with major league experience

6) Significant minor leaguers

I think you'd have a hard time convincing people that for this one organisation out of 30 that 6) should be above 5).

Especially with a farm system such as the Yankees have, while not terrible, doesn't exactly set the world on fire.

I'll keep this short and sweet, as I have better things to do, including another 13 hour shift at work tomorrow.

By that analogy, a guy with 1 major league at bat or one-third of an inning pitched in the majors should come before a significant minor league player. Too extreme? OK, let's say 10 at-bats or 10 IP. Being in the major leagues doesn't make a whole lot of difference in my opinion if the player didn't make a remotely significant impact on the team, the league or the game in general. If a player is called up to fill in for a guy on the day-to-day disabled list, does that make him more important to have in the rosters than a guy who has killed A-ball, AA and AAA and is close to being called up to be an everyday player, regardless of overall talent? That is the hole in the theory you're using.

However, if you want to, give me some suggestions on players you think could be removed from Columbus in order to get these guys in the rosters. And please, do it via e-mail.

As far as A-ball goes, I did think about putting these kinds of players in A-ball rather than removing them, but that would, no doubt, cause the same amount of, or maybe even more, complaints because the guys shouldn't be in Tampa, by being in Tampa they are increasing the rating of the team, and it would make the Tampa roster incorrect.

So since Kraw's PS2 broke, there wont be any more PS2 updates? If true, this could be a sad sad day. Just looking for some type of confirmation.

Thank You

kraw doesn't have a ps2 anymore but I know a guy that has contacted him asking to be trained in the fine art of roster conversion for consoles. We'll see how that one evolves...

Hey Totte i dont know if this has been mentioned yet but Javy Lopez is grosley overrated. He has a higher rating then Tek and the sox start him if you start a dynasty!

Thanks :D

So what do you suggest? What ratings should be lowered since I won't change any batting ratings until after the regular season?

Thanks :)

Detroit Tigers 3B Brandon Inge seemed to changed his batting stance to something that looks close to T. Helton's.

Fixed for a future version. Thanks :)
