You need mvp edit to use the .mbe files. This release is mostly for the beta testers out there, so don't be scared if you don't know how to use it. There will be another release around friday.

A couple of Notes on the Mets:

Jeff Koepinger will not make the team. There will be another OFer making it with Valent.

Also, in the Mets AA team, Mike Jacobs was officialy converted from a C to a 1B. Apparently, he was that bad behind the plate, but can hit.

I also don't think your Bullpen is correct, but lets for Monday on that one.

Actually, he has not been completely converted for he has been playing as a catcher in spring training games with the B-Mets.

Jake also caught the game and has been catching every second or third game, despite erroneous reports that he was being moved to first base for defensive purposes. Officials reiterated that his move to first was as a way to simultaneously get him 4 at bats every day, and lessen the pressure on his surgically repaired shoulder

The other thing is fake players are AGAIN in the Free Agents list. Not sure how to fix that.

If someone wants to make a list of the fake players in the FA pool I will remove them and send you guys the updated roster.

If you have a roster that has more done to it than the one posted send it to me, that way you would not have to redo some of your work

It is done using a text editor, MVPedit will not do it. This is the same thing that happens when all-star player sometimes find there way to the FA pool

If you guys do want me to do it, would you also like the all-star teams updated (like Bonds)

thanks for the beta.

i think the readme needs improvement.

i can see where people are getting confuse and placing the .mbe file that in the zip folder to data/datafile by how the readme reads.

"To Install: Place the contents of the folder into your MVP Baseball 2005datadatabase folder (as always, with any mod, backing up old files is highly recommended)"

the readme should say extract the zip file you downloaded, then use mvpedit and load the .mbe file and then export the .mbe to data/database folder and overwrite any files there.

If you don't try to access MANAGE ROSTERS at the main menu

it seems to work fine! What is the deal? Why does the game crash

when you attempt to open MANAGE ROSTERS? I can play, I just

can't access the rosters for editing!

So why are people having different issues?

Why can't I access MANAGE ROSTERS from game menu?

You say you can! I've seen that message before about line-ups

not filled correctly! I checked in MVPEdit it appears most teams

are filled. Can someone tell for sure what causing the crash?

HypnoxXx,

I know you can’t make player movements until they’re official, but there are 5 players that will play in AAA-Fresno that were not on 3.5 or in your ReadMe you sent me. Four have been officially optioned and one is still in camp. They won’t fit on the AAA roster as it stands, until some Non-Roster Invitees are released. I’ll let you decide what to do with them in the meantime (maybe move some to free agency). If you move them down, then the AA will have too many players when creating this team. You’ll figure it out.

Brian Burres-LHP (SP) [optioned 3-15-05]

Specs & pic: http://sanfrancisco.giants.mlb.com/NASApp/...layer_id=434638

Scouting: “…84-89 fastball and decent changeup…loopy curveball…took to new cut fastball taught to him by pitching coach….stunning success was the product of painting the outer half with his fastball and pounding hitters inside w/ his cutter.â€

Alfredo Simon-RHP (SP) [optioned 3-15-05]

Specs & pic: http://sanfrancisco.giants.mlb.com/NASApp/...layer_id=430580

Scouting: “…90-95 mph fastball…improved at throwing it to both sides of the plate…has a smooth delivery…overhauled offspeed stuff, particularly his changeup…Giants like his feel for a curveball and slider.â€

Dan Ortmeier-RF [optioned 3-15-05]

Specs: http://www.sports-wired.com/profiles/OR/tbc6498.asp

Pic: http://www.skiltech.com/Merchant4/merchant...p;Store_Code=NN

Scouting: “…His all-out style already had led to shoulder problems in the past, and three separate injuries hampered him most of last year…above-average raw pop…runs well for his size and has an above-average right-field arm when at full strength…â€

Erick Threets-LHP [optioned 3-15-05]

Specs & pic: http://sanfrancisco.giants.mlb.com/NASApp/...layer_id=408069

Scouting: “…fastball in the mid-to-upper 90’s…and a power slider…has raw stuff to become a premiere reliever…walked nearly a batter/ inning as a pro and has little feel for the strike zone…he also throws across his body, which doesn’t bode well for his health…â€

Scott Munter-RHP (RP) [still in camp]

Specs & pic: http://sanfrancisco.giants.mlb.com/NASApp/...layer_id=434639

Scouting: “…gotten in better shape and improved mechanics which have in turn helped him command his heavy sinker. One Giants official compared Munter’s sinker to a bowling ball thrown out of a helicopter. :o He throw’s it in the low 90s and reaches 95…also has a hard slider that’s an average pitch…has a shot at a big league bullpen job in spring training.â€

Hey Hyp,

Pulled this one from like pg. 68 or 69. Don't see any of these guys in the Giants system or FA list. Where do you put them? Move some of those veteran slaps like Puffer, Villafuerte, Veres, etc. down. They're getting in the way of our prospects' "progression".

Also, snagged the LA Times from coffee shop this morning. DePodesta (LA GM) says DJ Houlton WILL make the Dodgers, so the Astros don't claim him back via Rule V. Who do you take off the 25-man? Edwin Jackson is headed to Sin City.
