Totte
have you ever given any thought to extending players with little to no service time? Guys who are not arb eligible. I will get some minor leaguers wanting too much money after a season in AAA. a middle reliever wanting 1 mil after a season in just AAA is too much. I've tried giving all the minor leaguers new salaries to reflect their age and ability. I actually lowered almost 90% of the salaries to keep the re-signing costs down... sfgiantsflgators
whoah - wonder how that'll turn out. he still could resign with them - but it would have to be for quite a bit less than he probably thinks he's worth. apparently the Dodgers are talking with Saito on whether he is going to stay or return to Japan. i would imagine that if he decides to stay, Gagne walks. if Saito for some reason goes back to Japan, Gagne would probably stay.
