totte so you know on the mirabelli deal

Sox Re-Sign Mirabelli

Red Sox re-signed catcher Doug Mirabelli to a one-year contract.

Mirabelli will reportedly make $750,000 next season to remain the backup for Jason Varitek and Tim Wakefield's personal catcher. While Mirabelli is coming off an off season, he did smack a half-dozen homers for the seventh year in a row. He's probably no longer the truly outstanding backup he once was, but he'll do OK playing once per week as long as Varitek is healthy, and if something does happen to Varitek, it's possible prospect George Kottaras would get a chance to step in.

JC is far better than donnelly (lets not get stats involved) but donnelly will most likely be terrible next season

You are underestimating Donnelly bigtime. He's a good pitcher and has been for quite some time now.

lester IMO will start on the DL or AAA because of his recovery for cancer....

Theres no way Okajima would get cut, not with Matsuzaka there now, he needs someone on the team that can speak Japanese too.

So I read Curt Schilling is learning Japanese.

That's not impossible but the problem is that I'm standing with 45 errors and 304 Warnings in the rosters now according to MVPedit. I'm also 12 players over the limit...

When I've solved all those issues, I'll release something since they're not playable in any way when they're as messed up as they're right now.

I just realized this means the Sox have the most hated catching staff in the nation!

HAHA did you see what Rotoworld said about Toby Hall?

Free agent Toby Hall isn't interested in returning to the Devil Rays on a minor league contract.

"That was funny," Hall said. "I guess it would be a minor league contract because they're a minor league team." Way to burn those bridges, Toby. The club gave you more than 2,000 at-bats even though you never once managed a 700 OPS. Your OBP for the club was under .300, and you never came close to matching the 19 homers you hit at Triple-A Durham in 2001. If the Rays weren't much more than a minor league team during your tenure, well, it's in part because you weren't much more than a minor league player.

Mariners acquired second baseman Jose Vidro from the Nationals for outfielder Chris Snelling and RHP Emiliano Fruto. Vidro gets a club option for 2009 as part of the deal.

Jeremy Bonderman agreed to a four year extension with the Tigers worth $38M

Pirates sign Cuban RHP Yoslan Herrera to a three year contract in which Herrera is guarenteed $1.92 million over the three years and can earn up to $1.2 million per year in bonuses. The 25-year-old Herrera had a record of 18-7 with a 3.27 ERA during his career in Cuba. The Pirates believe he can be a starting pitcher in the majors, but after all the time off, he's probably going to open 2007 in the minors.

Pirates designated infielder Craig Stansberry for assignment.

Orioles re-signed infielder Chris Gomez to a one-year, $850,000 contract.

Chris Young, already a virtual lock to start in center field, could enter 2007 as the Diamondbacks' leadoff man.

Japanese right-hander Masumi Kuwata said he has decided to sign a minor league contract with the Pirates. His numbers: http://www.japaneseballplayers.com/en/player.php?id=mkuwata

Brad Radke will announce his retirement at a press conference Tuesday.

totte, I think you should up the batting ratings for Liriano and Santana. I've read numerous reports that they are extremely good hitters for pitchers. Also, I don't think Smoltz's velocity is 96 anymore, probably more like 93 or 94. Not really sure though, it's all up to you. :)

Can I make a plea to have Steve Trash deleted from the rosters? As a Mets fan, I feel he would aid the rosters the best by not being on them (as he aids the Mets by...you guessed it, not being on them).

I've put him on the FA-list. Is that cool?

LOL. He is a FA, and will not be pursued by the Mets (or, it seems, anyone). Gee...wonder why...

Yes, yes, 2 months later and I still hate him...they don't call it OCD for nothing, people!

The Nationals continued to stockpile their pitching staff on Monday, as they signed Ray King and Jason Simontacchi to non-guaranteed Minor League contracts.

:lmao:

Thanks bro :wtg:

Thanks bro. I'll look into this when I have some time off later in the week
