sfgiantsflgators
As has been reported in a couple threads here, on ESPN (and ESPN.com), and MLB.com: Zito to the Giants, 7 @ $126 mil ($18 mil per). http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2710389 EDIT: Giants 2007 rotation will shape up like this: Zito Cain Lowry Morris Sanchez Hennessey (spot starter)
tejdog1
Jesus. That is one ridiculous contract. I suppose now the Mets are going with: Glavine, El Duque, Maine, Perez and Humber

Totte
Giants 2007 rotation will shape up like this: Zito Cain Lowry Morris Sanchez Hennessey (spot starter) You really think they're gonna run with a rotation with 3 lefties (Zito, Lowry and Sanchez)? TwentySeven
You really think they're gonna run with a rotation with 3 lefties (Zito, Lowry and Sanchez)? I think its entirely possible. Besides - The Yankees have Johnson, Pettitte, and Igawa, although obviously Igawa and Johnson aren't set.
sfgiantsflgators
You really think they're gonna run with a rotation with 3 lefties (Zito, Lowry and Sanchez)? It all depends on spring training - but the top four are set (I'm guessing the order). If Sanchez outperforms Hennessey (which I believe he will), then Sanchez will get the nod. If Hennessey steps up, it could be him. I think Lincecum will start in the minors (no lower than AA). I think (and hope) that with Zito now here, the Giants will progress Lincecum kind of like they did Cain - they won't bring him up until he is 100% ready. (Although, I wouldn't be against using him like the Red Sox did Papelbon if Lincecum continues to prove his worth in spring training. Lord knows we need someone to close other than Blownitez.) tejdog1
HAHAHAHA! Blowitez BURNNNNNNNNSSSSSSSSSS doesn't it?? What a pile of gutless dog droppings. Anyway, Pelfrey and Vargas will be in AAA next year. Dave Williams will be the long man. Assuming we don't trade for Vazquez (oh god no) or anyone else...it'll be as I posted. Emil
According to www.mlbtraderumors.com the Giants' rotation next year should be: Matt Cain Barry Zito Noah Lowry Matt Morris Jonathan Sanchez
sfgiantsflgators
According to www.mlbtraderumors.com the Giants rotation should be like this: Matt Cain Barry Zito Noah Lowry Matt Morris Jonathan Sanchez I really think Zito will be one for two reasons: 1) he's the veteran and 2) it will make it L, R, L, R, L. Perfect symmetry. Cain's our future ace, but I'd give the nod to Zito for '07.

TwentySeven
In case it matters, Barry Zito's contract includes a full no-trade contract. An arrest warrant was issued Thursday for Marlins starter Jeff Allison, who failed to appear at a court hearing. Allison was arrested in October and charged with felony possession of heroin and possession of a stolen vehicle. In August, he suffered a heroin overdose and had to be revived by police. The 2003 first-round pick remains Marlins property, though he's been on the suspended list since the start of last season. Rangers signed RHPs Willie Eyre, Mike Wood, to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training. Rangers signed catcher Guillermo Quiroz to a minor league contract. He will likely start at AAA, but if Miguel Ojeda fails as backup to Gerald Laird, there is a good likelihood that he will backup Laird.

Looking at replicas, would you say that the sporting goods stores only sells the players you see on the MLB.com Shop/Mo's Sporting Goods? Any good stores in LA to visit that has a wide range of jerseys? Sorry for all the q's but I'm eager to get my hands on a jersey to expand my collection :)

TwentySeven
I think so too, but we're that's not what the article said. The San Jose Mercury News quotes Noah Lowry as saying that Barry Zito will be the ace to take off pressure from Matt Cain to overperform. Marlins sign infielder Aaron Boone - terms of deal not announced.
Totte
Totte, when you think you'll be releasing 8.1? Probably within 3-4 weeks but that all depends on how the FA-signings shape up as they're what's hadling me back at the moment. The FA-pool is maxed out and some rosters in the minors have gaping holes in them.

Are they stockpiling they're lineup with experienced bats and infielders in order to be able to trade Beltre?
